Why do people want Sonic Adventure 3?

SA2 is the greatest Sonic game because:

It has the darkest and less childish story compared to all Sonic games, meaning that it has a wider audience compared to games like Sonic Colours which is mostly aimed at little kids.

It had a variety of characters with unique gameplay e.g. treasure hunting shooting and platforming.

It brought new characters (Rouge and Shadow) with the latter becoming the second most popular character in the Sonic games.

Robotnik had a good voice actor and looks like a REAL villain while in the classics, his character isn't emphasised. Post-SA2, Robotnik is a joke.

This game had a good and dark side compared to others which mostly had a good only side.

Sonic 3 & Knuckles is the greatest Sonic game because:

It has the best story because it can get its method across without cheesy and obnoxious writing and voice acting.

It had a variety of characters with a unique take on the gameplay the series built itself on.

It brought a new character (Knuckles) who became one of the most popular characters in the series.

Robotnik was actually menacing and cunning as opposed to letting Shadow and his grandfather be evil for him.

The game didn't have a "dark side" comprised of characters that all turned good at the end.

Guys

....don't...pls...leave this poor soul alone. Lets just move on its his opinion.

Things are going to get way out of hand very fast and we are going to piss the Mods off. I already kinda made Carbo mad.

I already posted my two cents, if he wants to continue being stupid, then let'em.

Sooner or later he's going to learn, this ain't the Sega forum.

I mean that SA2 appealed to kids and teenagers while Colours main focus was kids.
There's a reason ratings start at "everyone" at the bottom and continually decrease the recommended group as they go up.

I mean that for the 1st time, we get to play as the bad guys. Shows variety.
So Gamma was...?

But two outta three of them were shit.

What? The shooting part was fun!

And also became the most controversial one (and you could also consider Rouge controversial.

What's wrong with that? It gives publicity to the Sonic games.

I really don't see how it makes it 'the best.'

I mean that for the 1st time, we get to play as the bad guys. Shows variety.

1. Not everyone liked them.

2. It gives the wrong kind of publicity.

3. You could consider Gamma from Adventure 1 evil at first.

Debate all you guys want, that's what the forums are for. But stay civil about this instead of posting a bunch of image macros and witty posts about foreboding drama.

So, why oh why does it have to be dark to reach a wider audience? The only people I can see being turned off by the "childishness" of Colors are CoD-obsessed teenagers. Also, the dark tone was arguably not done well, and a lot of people don't think grimdark stories belong in a game about a cartoony blue hedgehog in the first place. So, yeah, YMMV.

In my opinion, the dark story in SA2 was well done, because it put me at the edge of my seat.

But that isn't a good thing. Having genre roulette pretty much undermines the point of it being a Sonic game, as well as limits its appeal. You have to enjoy THREE different genres of games to fully enjoy a game that's supposed to be a PLATFORMER. And, objectively, that's not good. Perhaps it was MEANT to extend its appeal, but why would they expect people who don't like platformers to buy a platform game anyway?

There's nothing wrong with variety.

Not everyone likes Rouge and Shadow, you know.

I do. A lot of people agree with me.

And a lot of people like it better that way.

I prefer Robotnik to be a villain not a joker.

So how does that make SA2 better than any other Sonic game.

Because it shows another POV other than Sonic.

Most of your points are subjective, and genre roulette was, objectively, a bad idea, even if you (like me) found the gameplay you got out of it to be good. I call BS, good sir.

Ok I admit. I forgot Gamma.

A game that's been out for 10 years outselling a game that's been out for 9 months? Your logic amazes me.

It still doesn't change that SC is too childish for it to be succesful.

1. Just because it's your opinion doesn't mean we can find flaws and criticize it.

2. So being 'too childish' detracts it from being successful? You logic is funny.

IS that why Colors was better received? Because it wasn't successful?

Yeah totally NOT successful, continue you're doing a good job of being wrong.

Sonic Colors-78

Good, now how about Sa2?

Sonic Adventure 2: Battle-73

Yeah totally NOT successful, continue you're doing a good job of being wrong.

The SA2 on DC had a 89.

Then why are you trying to force it down as facts to us?

I'm not, I'm saying why I personally think SA2 is the best Sonic game ever.

That's NOT THE POINT.

You said it was not succesful, it's succesful. Argue to that and stop changing the subject or throwing half assed comments out of NOWHERE.

I will say this thedarkknight: You cannot enter a conversation on the Internet and expect that dodging rebuttals on the basis that your opinion is your own opinion is going to fly. Address the criticisms people are making of your opinion or concede that your opinion simply isn't well-supported.
