South Island is a major island featured in the Sonic the Hedgehog Games series.
It appears in the first games in the series and appears in other adventures since then.
South Island was the first location shown in the Sonic the Hedgehog Game Series.
It was also where Dr. Eggman used Badniks for the first time.
Despite it being the first area shown in the series, Sonic & Dr. Eggman have known each other before coming here.
Thanks to Sonic Origins, we know that the Chaos Emeralds left South Island, after Sonic collected all 6 of them and defeated Dr. Eggman, and traveled to Westside Island.
