It’s no secret that YouTube isn’t exactly the best place for animators these days. From radical shifts in the algorithm to unfriendly policy changes, animation channels have had it rough. YouTube’s latest method of making things difficult for animators stems from its habit of forcing random animated videos to be marked as “Made for Kids,” seemingly only because the video in question features animation and children-friendly characters. 

Amongst the channels they’ve seemingly targeted in order to force this designation is the Sonic animation channel Balena Productions.

The Sonic Speed Cafe is a limited-time pop-up restaurant located in San Diego, California. The branded venue is intended to be a promotional activity to coincide with the San Diego Comic Con in 2023, and was announced during SEGA's 'Sonic Central' showcase on June 23rd, 2023.

Sonic Channel will be switching things up for its monthly calendar artwork for 2023. Introducing the “Isekai Ogiri” series, placing characters in new and surprising situations. For January, we have Musician Shadow and Infinite.

The day is finally upon us! Happy Sonic Frontiers Release Day, to all that celebrate (which would likely be pretty much everybody reading this)! We've all waited five long, hard years for Sonic Team's latest adventure, and with it we've kicked off a promising new era of Sonic the Hedgehog games. Who's excited!?

To celebrate, we're preparing a wealth of content on the Sonic Stadium website, forums and YouTube channel. For starters, take a look at this AMAZING new site theme! Sonic Frontiers will be getting a special vinyl soundtrack release in December, with pre-orders going live this weekend. Titled Sonic Frontiers: The Music of Starfall Islands, the soundtrack will come in both 2LP and 4LP limited edition box sets.

So lately, SEGA has been trying to unify the Sonic brand, in terms of trying to have all of the properties of the Sonic brand stay consistent with each other, like how the comics have to take place in the settings of the games and how some of the characters should be characterized.  Now there are some positives and negatives to SEGA unifying the Sonic brand...
