  • Sonic Speed Simulator - Symphony Showdown Event Guide

Lets check out the new Sonic Speed Simulator event!

Recommended: If you're a newcomer to Speed Simulator, be sure to read up on the first guide I released here:

So, a brand new week is here, and with the Knuckles series come and gone, whilst the Knuckles events is still available (and you can read the guide above to see how even new players can unlock both him and his Series counterpart fast), the newest update has brought quite a lot to the game. Of course, we're talking about...

    18f46d3cfc27-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.e7a6b41f910f0f61c1753c4aee3a310f.jpg

The Symphony Showdown event, bringing in a completely new game feature in the Jukebox, as well as new variants of Amy, Sonic and Shadow! While Amy, and Sonic use the more standard event objective system, Shadow and the Guitar Hoverboard requires you to engage with the new jukebox mechanic to unlock both.

If you've played Sonic Frontiers, you know what to expect here - 30 music notes have been scattered through all ten of the game worlds, and it's up to you to hunt all of them down. While only twenty is required to finish the event and unlock Shadow and the new extreme gear, this guide will be going through how you can unlock all songs currently in the game at the time of writing, as well as going into extra things required for all of the music notes, and the best ways to unlock Sonic and Amy.

So with that all said, let's get into it!

Rockstar Shadow, Guitar Hoverboard, and Jukebox Songs:

So, as I said above, we'll start off by jumping into the part that's going to be the hardest without a concise guide - the jukebox songs. Much like Sonic Frontiers, you'll need to go through the worlds of the game, finding music notes to unlock additional songs into the jukebox.

One thing I did want to confirm is a misconception I saw earlier - so to confirm - each music note contains a specific song. This means every single song location is a set spot and if you want a particular song, you will have to go to that specific note. Finding a certain number of notes will not be enough to get a certain song.

The quest isn't too hard, there's three songs per world, and they're mostly in landmarks that would be easily found. With exception to certain worlds like Lost Valley, No Place, and Hill Top. There's going to be means to optimise collection, and there's even going to be a required challenge for one of them, but we'll be going through it all in this guide.

    World 1: Green Hill Zone

So we start off in Green Hill Zone, and luckily, the music notes aren't too hard to find. Here's what you can expect in this world:

Music Note 1 - Event: Strategy (Sonic Adventure 2)

Luckily, for the first music note, you'll probably be find it pretty quick after you check out the event stage. If you go to the immediate left, you'll no doubt see the golden glow. Jump atop the small grassy platforms that's right next to the spawn, and you'll find it.

(Unfortunately, the image will only show where it should be since I accidentally picked it up earlier before I got to searching for the notes properly. Luckily, this is the only instance where I had collected a note early.

    18f469abb8c75-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.3625b94e37e792cbe53223cd5b8fadb4.jpg

Music Note 2 - Theory of Attack (Sonic Runners)

Another pretty easy music note, and really close to the first one. Instead of going left of the spawn, instead go directly behind into the beach area that's next to the world portals.

    18f469abb8c11-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.6af9472f9eb47f8b2f5426014663fa8b.jpg

You'll run down there and you'll see the music note sitting in the centre of a sandy patch down there.

    18f469abb8c66-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.4c16d74f280058825cb16fb0e04334e4.jpg

Music Note 3 - Tropical Coast Act 1 (Sonic Lost World)

Our third and final music note of Green Hill Zone, and all we got to do is steal from everyone's favourite purple cat - Big.

    18f469abb8c40-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.106bda1c11c0c53c98ee7ec8afc800ba.jpg

If you run just a little ahead of the Avatar item store - directly ahead of where you spawn - you'll see a small river, with a wooden boardwalk stretching out, and if you walk to the end, you'll find Big fishing - with his catch being a music note right in the river next to him. Unfortunately, you're going to jump in and grab it. Sorry Big, better luck next time.

Actually no, you deserve it for overcharging purple coins just to fish in Cyberspace.

    18f469e8d5588-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.a0eace10fc31f69309cfe5309b183600.jpg

    World 2: Lost Valley

Next on the agenda is Lost Valley, and while it's not too hard in order to find the music notes here, if you're a new player, you're unfortunately going to have some leg work to do, as one of the music notes has a prerequire requirement. Luckily, we will cover the requirements here in a extra section at the end.

    Anyways, let's get into it.

Music Note 4 - World Map (Episode Shadow Ver.) - Sonic Forces:

This music note is probably the most obvious one as the location is the major landmark of the map. This first note is located within the giant Pyramid that you will see as soon as you spawn into the level, meaning it's but a short hop away to grabbing it...

    18f469e8d5558-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.60226c937dbdb247e03a016b33c3c72b.jpg

...assuming you're not a brand new player. Because access to the Pyramid is tied to a world event where you need to do a series of missions in order to unlock Shadow. Upon finishing these missions, you'll unlock him, and you'll be able to access the Pyramid:

    18f469e8d5563-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.24065edbe608b658e9dbc23d4105a00a.jpg

    18f46a04f7631-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.e274ba545b2f4ccba1dd8cb4f83dca35.jpg

For now, we'll continue along with the guide - but if you're a new player, feel free to jump to the bottom section of the guide, which will focus specifically on the Release Shadow missions so you can still complete your jukebox collection.

So for now, here's where the prize will be when the Pyramid is opened:

    18f469e8d5517-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.fd84003fff0a208a5cbaa92aa2a3d10b.jpg

Music Note 5 - Lost Palace: Lap Music - Team Sonic Racing:

Luckily, the last music note is the only one that requires any additional work to get, so for the next two, it's simply running to them. To find this one in particular, you're going to go towards the path on the far right of the map that leads up a hill towards the back area of the world.

    18f46a237f173-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.8e2d3e7364abba1de2527a074e0bb64e.jpg

As you go along this path, you'll find the music note sitting atop a double platform on the left side of the path with a tree on it. You'll know you're in the right spot as you will be relatively close to the wooden pathways you can run along that bring you back to ground level.

    18f46a237f183-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.f6c9fe98c2072892eb50c8c020b76dda.jpg

Music Note 6 - Battle: Quick Race - Sonic Heroes:

The final note of this world can be found very close to spawn. You can see it relatively from spawn, as the location we need has a large wooden fence.

    18f46a237f14-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.bde63c979cd9991b623b740443219343.jpg

If you go behind the Emerald Hill portal, you'll find a double set of springs next to one of the large platforms on the right, across from three storage boxes and a robot generator. Jump on the springs, and follow the pathway past a XP ring into a square area surrounded by wooden posts with the music note in the centre.

    18f46a237f128-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.438201882cb67b4aedea1ade44b9dc89.jpg

    World 3: Emerald Hill Zone

Third world, and this one is far and away the easiest one to find all of the music notes in. All three are within seconds of the spawn, and all three are at easy landmarks. So let's get into it.

Music Note 7 - Rival Battle: Metal Sonic - Sonic Generations:

One of the easiest music notes to get, all you have to do is turn around from where you spawn into the level, and you'll see the Green Android Shadow event stand. Run over to it and you'll see the music note right next to it.

    18f46a5b8b484-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.546d4b2669e70e80f61d221e4a62c199.jpg

Music Note 8 - Work It Out - Sonic R:

Another easy one to find - one of the major landmarks of this level is Tails' workshop from Sonic Adventure, which you can see right from the spawn point of the level. Make your way over there and you'll find the music note sitting right in front of his workshop.

    18f46a5b8b483-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.6050ff9f8c4e04d04c731d5d26fe6a6e.jpg

    Music Note 9 - Chasing Drive...for Kart - Sonic Adventure 2:

The final music note of this world, and probably the 'hardest' of this world, although it's still not particularly tricky to find. From Tails' workshop, look towards the left where you'll see a loop, and make your way there, going through it. You'll then see a open doorway hidden in the landscape with a waterfall.

    18f46a829bf0-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.4ee2d9ca9e10974fcca91e4ccb68cc18.jpg

Go inside this room and on the other side of the area, you'll find the music note, completing Emerald Hill Zone's collectible notes. Next stop - New Yoke City, and a somewhat significant difficulty spike.

    18f46a8c20675-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.7c220663c36bfcddbc8257a03f62e4af.jpg

    World 4: New Yoke City

Jumping into the next world, we're right above our first music note, quite literally. Unfortunately, New Yoke City is also where a notable difficulty spike comes with finding these music notes, but luckily, this guide should still make everything a piece of cake.

Music Note 10 - Network Terminal (Interior) - Sonic Forces:

So, as mentioned above, the first music note is one we're quite literally standing atop of as soon as we spawn in - albeit also a area very easily missed. If you jump off the platform you spawn on to your immediate right, you'll find an entranceway to the rebel base that's hidden under this area.

    18f46a9406b22-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.3643437e31e790ee991b2bb9af556b47.jpg

From here, it's mostly a straight path - just run through the base until you find a glass dome containing a palm tree, and right in front of it, you'll find the music note.

    18f46a9d22a61-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.d8c2921007917836e926269cb4062803.jpg

Music Note 11 - Enemy Territory (Westopolis Remix) - Sonic Forces:

Heading back to where you spawn, you're going to go towards Nine and Rebel Knuckles, and take a left towards Nine. You'll then see a sky rail that's spanning through the city filled with XP rings. You're going to want to land on that rail, and then keep following the pathway in a straight line. Don't go too fast or else you'll fall off when turning corners.

    18f46aa5e3a9-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.89d3413174e8bf9ee6cd821a9ce6e094.jpg

Keep moving on here until you find the red rings with 1,000 xp and you'll find the music note very quickly after that. As long as you don't fall off the walkway, you can't miss it.

    18f46aadb4b47-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.0624ab368e8858813d49a88883ff6d58.jpg

Music Note 12 - Eggmanland (Day) - Sonic Unleashed:

Go back to the previous spawn area and follow our path back to Nine and Rebel Knuckles.

    18f46ab949665-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.ac058a379e983750f176a0aabea099a7.jpg

This time however, you are instead going to go right - where you'll see a pathway leading to a ramp, followed by a loop on the rooftops. Just keep going through that path and you'll find the music note on a square portion of the roofs right after the loop.

    18f46ac487274-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.a1a697673b4c9952fc80083a5a280216.jpg

    World 5: Hill Top Zone

Following on with Hill Top Zone, this is unfortunately where the pretty annoying levels really start to come in. You'd assume Hill Top would be easier since it's a open level compared to the previous level, but instead, you'll find that due to the sheer verticality of the level makes this one pretty difficult to find music notes and even reach them.

What I would recommend - if you read the previous guide - and conveniently - he can be gained from Hill Top onwards for new players - is unlocking Neo Metal Sonic, as he has the ability to fly while boosting, which means he can more readily access the areas that hold the music notes. Alternatively, you can use a flying mount such as the Tornado if you have one, but Neo Metal is the easiest means to do it out of the gate.

Music Note 13 - Rusty Ruin Zone Act 1  - Sonic 3D Blast (Saturn):

This is where it's going to become evident how much of a pain this level is for the music notes, as there's not many landmarks and everything mostly looks the same, but we're going to try our best anyways. So, this one is probably the simplest to find.

    18f46ad1ca261-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.b4fcde07fd0d4062f45fd576688b577f.jpg

From spawn, move to the right where you'll find a wooden bridge with rails on it. Do not go on this however, jump onto the wooden block to the left, and look over to the left where you'll see a loop next to a pit. Jump over and run through this loop. Now just keep going until you hit the open area just ahead and you'll find it.

    18f46ada1f773-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.9cd14eaf2db7329f4b2616a43c70bfab.jpg

Music Note 14 - Tornado Time - Sonic Lost World:

Next up in this confusing labyrinth, there's very little chance you're going to find this one easily by yourself, especially without a flying character or mount. Perhaps I just hadn't explored the world enough, but I couldn't find a means to get to this next one without Neo Metal Sonic's flight capability.

    18f46ae465679-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.bad0084eb800beaf2115c61dcac4b790.jpg

Around Hill Top Zone, you'll see very large scaling towers that go high into the sky - with one very tall one being towards the middle of the map, and having a grassy bridge coming off of it. You'll want to get to the top of this particular tower, and that's where you'll find the music note at the very top.

    18f46aef8ab72-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.766b8af26a21e8b89102f13e20cd2700.jpg

Music Note 15 - Rusty Ruin Zone Act 2 - Sonic 3D Blast (Saturn):

This one is probably the 'easiest' to get in the zone, at least in terms to how relatively close it is to the start. From the spawn point, if you look up, you'll see a pathway sprawling around the map.

    18f46b0e6eb35-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.02001fff2b510b19621521a8a8828280.jpg

You want to get up to this point,  and you'll know it's the right spot because you can see the spawn point below from the position. From here, you'll know it's the right area, you'll find a yellow XP circle with 1,000xp. The note is right next to it.

    18f46b17c0118-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.bff9d033b63df3b928cf7c7c09518f2a.jpg

    World 6: Speed Jungle

Compared to the previous worlds, Speed Jungle is a merciful exercise in simplicity. All of the music notes here are readily accessible and easy enough to grab.

Music Note 16 - Special Stage - Sonic 3D Blast (Saturn):

This is among the most obviously placed music notes in the event. The main centrepiece of the level is a very big spiral runway that will take you up to the very top of the level, and that's the first destination.

    18f46b279aa44-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.032859e10ac4559edaf1f31ca75fea4a.jpg

Just head to the left of the spawn and you'll find the spiralling pathway. Just follow the chaos gems all the way up. You'll find the music note at the top above a spring, but make sure to jump into the music note, rather than use a homing attack, or else you can miss the note and need to move all the way back up.

    18f46b3a1ff79-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.454672ea54713fc25e61516d6b1fa8de.jpg

    Music Note 17 - I'm a Spy...For Security Hall - Sonic Adventure 2:

Another easy music note to find. In fact, you may have already passed it on the way to the first one. It's on the exact same spiral runway we took the first time, except it's only halfway up this time. You'll know you're there when you see a second wooden hut on the right, and a set of grind vines on the left. All you need to do is go to the vines on the left and it's right there.

    18f46b4da3560-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.4c515053779238667c078c2211d99527.jpg

Music Note 18 - Back in Time - Sonic R:

For our final note of the world, we have another easy one!

Just go back to the spawn, and instead of going left to the spiralling pathway, instead go right, and follow the trail of chaos gems. After a very short while, you'll find the music note in this trail.

    18f46b5e1f561-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.19c9db451ca2ecc8774201ea00f9b165.jpg

    World 7: No Place

Our next world brings us back to Sonic Prime's locations, and with it, more set-up. No Place's gimmick is that you only have sixty seconds of oxygen whenever you jump off the ship down into the explorable area. While bubbles are readily available to replenish the oxygen, it's significantly easier to just use a robotic character, who don't need to breath. It can be any variant of Metal Sonic, Omega, the Riders robots, etc. It's also worth noting that there's missing objects in the images due to not knowing there was a option to use a higher graphical mode, so bear this in mind for discrepancies.

Obviously in this case, we'll use Neo Metal Sonic since his flight will also make things easier for us, but still - just use a robot character to not worry about a timer.

Music Note 19 - Big Fishes at Emerald Coast - Sonic Adventure:

Our very first music note is one we can find almost immediately. Rather than jump into one of the cannon to be launched underwater, instead simply jump off the ship and don't move around too much. Underwater and slightly left of the ship, you'll drop into a very large empty area where the first music note is resting. You'll know it's the right spot when you see a red XP ring above the open area.

    18f46b6d8da51-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.db0bb0f7b563c6782c6b7af20faa0fdf.jpg

Music Note 20 - Waterbike - Sonic Rush Adventure:

From the previous music note, you're going to simply turn around until you see a loop with a spring on it's top right.

    18f46b8383f78-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.b3f7ef3c83f12b09f8b3b076d2b6e318.jpg

From here, you're simply going to dash in a mostly straight line to the right of this loop. Go under the bridge you see, and keep going right from there (you'll know it's the right path if you see a XP ring - you should go right from this ring).

When you see a large tower to the right of the XP ring, go to the right of this large tower, the music note should be here next to some seaweed and coral flowers.

    18f46b8f18a59-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.28eb755c2f2e72c971b93f318eed3ce3.jpg

Upon grabbing this music note, you'll officially unlock Rockstar Shadow, finishing this portion of the event. That said, there's still music notes to find, so...

Music Note 21 - Coral Cave Act 1&2 Mix - Sonic Rush Adventure:

Thankfully, this one is a lot easier to find. Go back to where we found Music Note 19, and turn around to the back (where there's a wooden fence) and go slightly right from here. You'll see a red XP ring, and a little further ahead of that, you'll see three badniks, and then a laser barrier embedded in a wall, with the music note just in front of it.

    18f46ba591635-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.35ef4399e0751a3f098409bc5ec4cc47.jpg

    World 8: Cyber Station

We're starting to really hit the endgame of our music note hunt now, with only three worlds left to go. So let's get right into it.

Music Note 22 - Flowing (Cyberspace 1-2) - Sonic Frontiers:

This is probably the easiest music note you'll find - this one is literally right in front of you as soon as you spawn into the level, the music note sitting atop one of the event podiums. Jump on it and you've got it.

    18f46bae21748-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.6795f3136949088af2439d5f9f655b05.jpg

Music Note 23 - Bingo Party: Lap Music - Team Sonic Racing:

So from the first music note, we're going to go left from the spawn, although this one is going to be slightly more involved compared to the rest of these straight line pathways. To be more specific - this is the path you want:

    18f4f65b19682-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.aeb299eb5e5c3f2c5d44d06658bcfde7.jpg

    18f4f65ea1c10-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.4c644318266335a92ded30da09b1e18a.jpg

It's still a straight path, but you're going to want to jump up on the platform in front of you, then continue running here, jump to the next road, and keep going until you hit two towers towards your left, with platforms between them. You'll then see the music note sitting on one of the platforms between the towers.

    18f46bb674741-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.62848695b1ae615ccac4c6a2ab7d29ef.jpg

Music Note 24 - Battle with Egg Dragoon Mk II - Sonic Forces:

From the last music note, jump to the left where there's a spring, which will then bounce you up to a part of a tower. Then jump over to a spring that's on the right tower across from you, and keep climbing up these towers. You'll then see a tower that's got three platforms leading up to it next to a XP ring and a pathway. Scale this tower and the music note is on here next to three badniks.

    18f46bbf97255-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.7251630a86e1d1c71cde33fdab3be00f.jpg

World 9: Metal City Skate Park

Home stretch now, and ironically, as we near the end of this whole hunt, we hit the easier music notes to find, so let's get right into it.

Music Note 25 - Theme of Metal City - Sonic Riders:

Right as soon as you spawn into the world, you'll see the music note right next to the Riders Sonic event podium, so run over and grab it.

    18f46bc905919-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.477044e1cc87e4b5cd8f6b3b388f4b2e.jpg

Music Note 26 - Fiery Passion - Sonic Runners:

Directly after the last music note, you're going to run in a straight line into the skate park, and you'll see a large yellow platform slightly to your left. The music note is atop this platform, so jump atop it, and run into the note to grab it.

    18f46bd5a7933-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.d3582084873dabad75baeee6d9b619c5.jpg

Music Note 27 - Tornado Scramble (Sky Chase) - Sonic Adventure:

The final music note of Metal City, and another easy one to grab - from the spawn point, go to your right where you'll find a doorway that will bring you to a event podium to unlock Wave.

    18f46bdd45199-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.fc638925bdc404c5db86b444471f94d1.jpg

From here, you'll then see a large rail that's directly in front of the podium - jump onto this rail and it'll bring you to a small hidden area that houses the music note.

    18f46be94d453-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.a8329ec7708853c756f500dbb8a5788f.jpg

    18f46beca1619-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.4545a8464a9cf4a794a6b40ec7cf3b98.jpg

    World 10: City Escape

The newest and final world of our hunt, and thankfully - very easy to find, especially if you got Neo Metal for the Movie Knuckles event as shown in the guide at the start of the topic, so let's get into it.

    Music Note 28 - That's the Way I Like It!...for Metal Harbour - Sonic Adventure 2:

For our first music note here, go to the right of the spawn point, past the Knuckles event podium that has Movie Sonic and Tails, and keep going this way until you hit a alley at the end of this road. You'll know it's the right spot since it's stacked with wooden boxes, and the metal fences at in the alley. The music note is right at the alley entrance.

    18f46bfab0480-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.8615ec9dd5fb842447cc3d3d9d5a605d.jpg

Music Note 29 - Escape from the City (Instrumental) - Sonic Adventure 2:

This time from the spawn point, we're going to go on the path on the left after getting out of the park. Keep following along until you get to a laser barrier with two GUN robots. To your right, you'll see an alleyway that has a metal fence, and construction platforms past the fence. Jump over the fence, and run towards the right, and you'll find the music note right in the middle of the road, right before you go downhill.

Music Note 30 - Azure Blue World...for Emerald Coast - Sonic Adventure:

Our final music note of the hunt, and we're ending on a very easy one. Simply go down to the very bottom of the map, where you'll see a series of docks. You'll see the music note on the middle dock. Just run down here and grab it, and you're officially done with the music hunt!

    18f46c142a592-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.24703e9cc3ae850b204d8cc4c1fbc998.jpg

Buuut, we're not done filling out that music list quite yet. We still have two more songs to go.

    BONUS: Boss Battle Songs

While we now have a total of 40 songs, the ten songs we get from the base game, plus the 30 we've collected so far, we still have two more to grab, including one I'm sure most will be incredibly happy to see included.

Bonus Song 1: Egg Mobile (Egg Hornet) - Sonic Adventure:

You can snag the very first of our bonus songs by going to the Emerald Hill boss fight, either the regular version or hard version, and enter the battle with Eggman:

    18f46c1d76c74-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.6c2adceef0b6aca968e0a67a791b32c5.jpg

The fight is simple enough - Eggman will shield himself via generators around the area. Simply run and destroy the active ones to bring down his force field, and he'll become vulnerable, then jump into him. Rinse and repeat. Once you beat him, you'll now get the track:

    18f46c291e052-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.9d500d169e5470fc6342b6b1c61f2d2a.jpg

Bonus Song 2: What I'm Made Of... - Sonic Heroes:

Our final song of this event and of this update brings us to one of the most iconic Crush 40 songs of all time! You're going to go to Hill Top Zone, where you'll see the Neo Metal Sonic boss event, and enter it:

    18f46c319b146-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.c1ccce7c7eff0dc82491a31a01406897.jpg

From here, you're going to take Neo Metal down by collecting chaos crystals as you fly through the stage, ensuring you keep your ring count high as well. Keep fighting Neo Metal until his health drops down to zero, and as soon as you see the rank screen, you'll get the notifcation that the song has unlocked:

    18f46c3c07a94-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.5254f5fa8709a41e4e8189bca53a5ff1.jpg

With that, we've now officially covered ALL of the music notes, and means we can get into the next major portion of this event guide.

Popstar Amy and Rockstar Sonic Event Challenges:

So, for the next major part of this event, we've got the event challenges which will unlock trails, chao, and both Popstar Amy and Rockstar Sonic:

    18f46c4f64793-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.e2e57f4d1000a768a439ca3d9b17e462.jpg

    Our event tasks? Well...

Task 1: Collect 2,000 Chaos Orbs:

    Reward: Two Maestro Chao

Task 2: Boost for 4 minutes/240 seconds in races:

    Reward: 2 Beam Note Trails

    Task 3: Destroy 500 badniks:

Reward: Popstar Amy (Epic rarity character)

Task 4: Perform 600 Hoverboard Tricks:

    Reward: 3 Maestro Chao

Task 5: Complete 20 Time Trials:

Reward: 3 Beam Note Trails, 2000 Red Star Rings, and Rockstar Sonic (Legendary rarity character)

We'll break things down bit by bit for these tasks, and go over the easiest means of finishing them.

    2-3x Event Multiplier (OPTIONAL):

The first thing we're going to do is something that is optional, but will make your grinding much easier, not just for this event, but practically EVERY event character in the game, permanent or otherwise.

You're going to go to Cyber Station and go to the chao vending machine, where you can find a 'Red Hero Chao' - it's a legendary tier friend, but it's main purpose is to multiply your earnings on events. Depending on if you have the starter pack, which will let you have 5 friend slots compared to the regular 3,  you're going to need a total of 15-25 Red Hero Chao, but their rates aren't too bad thankfully.

    18f46c665aa12-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.8b032688ccaefc01100a44c85e8b39a2.jpg

Once you have either 15 or 25, depending on your max friends slots, you're going to need to max out all of their levels at the training machine, and then fuse them. You need five fully levelled chao to make one fused chao, hence why we need so many. Either way, continue this process until you have 3-5 fused Red Hero Chao, level them up one last time, and equip them.

Task 1: Collect 2,000 Chaos Orbs:

The first task is the simplest. Go to any world of your choice, ideally with a Movie character with electric boost for the magnet effect, and start running around to collect orbs. Alternatively, use auto-run to have the character do the work for you. Just ensure you don't hit the AFK timer.

Task 2: Boost for 240 seconds in races:

Back in Green Hill Zone, you can find two podiums for action races and drag races, retrospectively. This is going to take quite a few races in order to get all of that boost, so put auto-race on, and it'll bring you to race world following a race, where you can continue to vote for races until you hit the threshold.

If you're a newcomer, ideally aim to always race on Metal Madness - as this will contribute to the Rescue Shadow missions discussed during the music notes portion.

    Task 3: Destroy 500 Badniks:

For this one, there's two means of pulling it off, but unfortunately, one requires money, while the other is free.

For the first method, which requires money, or at least luck to get a vehicle from the racing store - you need to use a variation of either the Tornado, or the Miraculous Queen, and head to Emerald Hill Zone, where you'll simply fly around and gun down badniks until you hit the number.

The other easy way to do it is to head to Lost Valley, which has quite a lot of badniks around the area, and again - if you're a new player, this will contribute to the Rescue Shadow missions as well. Either way, grindy, but self-explanatory.

Task 4: Perform 600 Hoverboard Tricks:

This one thankfully is the easiest to do. If you don't have a hoverboard already, be sure to do the Neo Metal Sonic event to grab his gear as one of the event rewards. From there, you're going to Hill Top Zone, and jumping off into the void - because here, unlike other worlds, the game will bounce you back up when you go into the pits, rather than kill and respawn you, meaning you can easily spam hoverboard tricks here for the challenge.

Task 5: Complete 20 Time Trials:

Unfortunately, there's no real two ways about it when it comes to this task, you're just going to need to run through 20 time trials as fast as you can without many tricks to this, other than possibly using Neo Metal for his flight, and making sure you pick a course you find easy enough to do repeatedly. For me, I personally pick the third time trial on Green Hill Zone that's just directly ahead of the spawn point.

Either way, once all of those is done, you'll have fully completed the event!

Still one last thing to discuss...

    Release Shadow Event:

As previously discussed with the fourth music note in the guide, we need to fully complete the Release Shadow challenge to unlock the Pyramid. If you followed the last guide, you'll know this was listed in our points of interest for World 2. Now, we're going to focus on it a bit. So...

    18f46a04f7631-screenshotUrl.jpg

As you can see, to finish the event, we need to unlock Orange Shadow Android, Unlock Hologram Metal Sonic, Destroy Force Field Generators, and destroy Badniks in Lost Valley. So let's break these down.

    Unlock Orange Shadow Android:

Head back to Green Hill Zone and head up to Tails' workshop on the left, where you'll need to collect 'rebirth energy' in order to complete the event. This can be done by two means. The first is time trials, albeit - only at 20-45 per run.

The other means is the one we'll focus on. Head back down to the spawn point, and run over to the drag race stand - you'll see Dadon Pa, and a rocket to his left.

    18f46c7558866-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.92427d5038c6b0af22d3d2fbe481d673.jpg

Use the 'Sneak In' prompt to get loaded into Race World, where you can now see the Action Race podium to your right. Go over to it and wait for it to load races. The primary one you're going to aim for is Metal Madness however, IE - Stardust Speedway.

    18f46c7d70185-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.e92f2a4f3a58dcc516a25ccb189c82ee.jpg

This will then bring you into a race with Metal Sonic based on the iconic race from both CD and Generations. From here, as you run all through the stage, you'll notice dark energy orbs on the map.

    18f46c8551b14-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.074f67ad8ae94c000eabeec7659c8084.jpg

Collect these and you'll chip away at both the Shadow Android objectives, and the Metal Sonic objectives in Race World. Keep going until you get a notification that Orange Shadow Android is unlocked.

Destroy 400 Badniks in Lost Valley:

Pretty self-explanatory, all things considered. Badniks are everywhere in Lost Valley, so while it may be a bit of a grind, you should really have no problems knocking it out. Badniks also respawn after a short while too, so you shouldn't find yourself with any shortage of enemies to take down for this one.

Destroy Forcefield Generators in Lost Valley:

Once again, pretty self explanatory, but we'll briefly go over it, as these are exclusive to Lost Valley. If you go to the right of the spawn point, where we went towards for one of the music notes earlier, you'll find this battery like robot with a blue eyeball and energy field:

    18f46c8ff1370-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.0a94a68b2635601f12209b566b9c1399.jpg

A simple homing attack is enough to take them down, and they also count as badniks, so it's the same thing as before - run around the area, and destroy them whenever they come. They also respawn, so you don't need to worry about running out.

    Unlock Holographic Metal Sonic:

This one is unfortunately going to be the annoying one to this whole affair, as Holographic Metal Sonic in of himself is another event character with his own set of event challenges. When you spawn, you'll see Knuckles to the right of the Pyramid in treasure hunting gear. Run over to him and it'll bring the challenges up.

    18f46c9945c14-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.635250e19dbf1974d7eb45d6ea8912a6.jpg

While not as many as other events, this is still pretty time consuming, so let's try break it down as best we can here.

Destroy 100 Badniks (Holographic Metal Sonic):

Relatively easy enough, since we're already doing that as part of the Shadow challenges, so keep destroy badniks and it'll come pretty quickly.

    Collect Master Emerald Shards (1000):

Another time consuming one - around Lost Valley, you'll find emerald shards mixed in with the Chaos Orbs around the stage. It's not remotely hard to find them, but it's time-consuming to get to 1000. Luckily, you can use auto-run past level 50 in order to have the game collect them for you. It'll still take time, and you need to make sure to stop the AFK counter by collecting rewards every 12 minutes, but it works if you want to do something else while the game collects for you.

    Break Stone Tablets:

This is the really miserable one unfortunately. All throughout Lost Valley, there are a total of 30 stone tablets hidden around on walls, around the floor, and more that depict Metal Sonic, and you need to run into every one of them to break them. Lost Valley is a big place, and they do not respawn, meaning it can be quite the hunt to try find them.

Luckily, this video should cover all of them.

    Finale:

With ALL that finished up, you should finally be able to go back to the Pyramid, where the entrance will finally be unlocked, and you can now enter the Pyramid to a room that is very similar to the room Shadow was kept in during Sonic Heroes. Go in here and you'll find the music note, and be able to free Shadow from captivity.

    18f46cba87641-screenshotUrl.thumb.jpg.1a05877fd97540d5b4421241d42e3dba.jpg

With that, we're finally done covering all aspects of this event, as well as the numerous bonus things required to fully complete it! It's been a long journey and we covered a lot, but I do hope this guide serves to help everyone easily complete what took me a full day to fully finish up.

If you enjoyed it, please be sure to throw me a like for the hard work, and let me know what you thought of the guide and it helped! If people find these helpful and enjoyable, then I'll continue to make them for new events, and possibly even continue the starter guide series!

Dropping a quick note to say that the guide has been updated to give more clarification on Music Note #23, since I didn't realise the pathway instructions may still be a bit unclear!

The events keep getting longer and longer lol

Keep in mind, this topic is longer than the event really is. Ryan just added a guide to the Shadow event on top of it for those who couldnt get into the pyramid.
