marcellof, probably won't work.

Hero of Fate, that reminds me of a puzzle of the time when I bought my DS a year and a half ago, and shortly afterward I found Ace Attorney 1 brand new in a shop for about $20. It was the last game I ever expected to find. I was planning on simply playing the entire series on no$gba, but it convinced me to hunt down new (albeit opened) and used copies of the other three games at the time.

Legendary Dogs Wi-Fi Event Coming February 7th

ONM has revealed that Nintendo will be giving away the shiny Legendary Dogs over Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection from February 7th. No info on when they will be available until, unfortunately, so I suggest grabbing them as soon as possible. The event is open to all 5 current DS games Pokémon HeartGold, SoulSilver, Platinum, Diamond and Pearl.

Is this in America too? And are they the same as the Gamestop ones?

I think that's the only in Europe mate. The Dogs are already being given out in the US. Raikou was last week, so you missed that. Entei is coming on January 17-24, and Suicune is at the end of the month.

The 3DS is compatible with DSi game cards and DSiWare games, which are all region locked, so I assume the 3DS has the same DSi region lock as well as the 3DS region lock.

Thought so. Too bad, I always get the US versions and I would've liked playing on my 3DS. Oh well, I still have my Lite.

What were the DSi features anyway?

He might not live near a GameStop or something. Honestly I think they should just do simultaneous distributions: do it over Wi-Fi and in stores. Jesus, is this so hard to get through Nintendo's thick skulls?

Its especially grating when the last few events were on Wifi, so why now?

Its probably Nintendo's way of making America work for what they want.

The store distributions are nice for those who don't have any means to access Wi-Fi, such as myself. But store distributions are bad for those who don't live near them. I mean Nintendo (kind of) already did simultaneous give-aways for Jirachi after all.

Well, be prepared for more work...

USA: National Mall Tour Announced for ‘Black’ and ‘White;’ Celebi Download

A massive mall tour will take place from February to March to celebrate the release of Black and White, similar to the old “Journey Across America” mall tour in 2006. You can read the press release below for more details. Each stop will last for two days and players will be able to download Celebi to their fourth generation games (Celebi will also be offered at Gamestop, as the press release mentions).

The mall tours will give fans a chance to play Black and White weeks before they are released in stores. There will be mall scavenger hunts, contests, loads of prizes, and Pokemon Center merchandise available for purchase. And for animé fans, families will be able to attend a free screening of Zoroark: Master of Illusions at theaters near the malls (a propagandist Pokemon film about the struggle of parent and child to overcome evil – an obvious ploy to lure the parents into the franchise!). How exciting for us fans!

Europe also getting Celebi event, details to be revealed

http://www.serebii.net/index2.shtml

Speaking of events, Nintendo also confirmed that a Celebi event would be acoming to Europe, but gave no details how or when we would get the green onion head. Meanwhile, die hard Hoenn trainers still protest outside Nintendo of Europe HQ, much like the tuition fee protests, for their 3rd Gen Celebi event.

Actually I already grabbed two Raikou last week. I happen to live not far from four Gamestops at the same exact intersection. I really don't understand the logic there, but whatever.

I'd still have loved if they did a WiFi distribution of the beasts though. The less often I have to walk into a Gamestop the better.

They kept Pignite for one of Tepig's evolutions then, eh? Interesting.

Serperior as Smugleaf's Snivy's final evolution though... I love it for being such a fitting play on words (he's a smug bastard who is superior to you - and he knows it!), but I hate it for being so corny. Oh well. Snivy has grown on me, I'm sure this will too.

Pignite

Dang, one of the annoying fan-names were half right. >3>

Serperior

Lulz, it's Rypherior all over again!

Though it is an epic pun.

Those have to be the most facepalm worthy names ever, and I thought the Fourth Generation had some bad names.

So you don't like any of the Pokemon names? Even Red and Blue had obvious names. Charmander, Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Pinsir, Snorlax, Kangaskhan, etc.

-Seriously, people, the nostalgia goggles need to come off. It's gone on long enough.

Never assume; it makes an ass out of you and me.

Gen IV is my favorite gen overall, and it's pokémon are very close to being my favorite, behind Gen II. Gen I is my least favorite in terms of the games and the pokémon themselves. So how about no.

The problem with these names isn't the cheesy puns because even though I don't like them, I have no problem with them. It's that they don't even sound good. Very few actually roll of the tongue well.

You say we should deal with it because you like them, but how about you deal with it because we don't?

Now how the hell did that slip by NoA? Or more like, how the hell did NoA decide that name?

Yeah... there are a few here that I like, but for the most part these are kind of lousy. I mean, Deerling? Cottonee? Throh? And why in the holy piss is Barujiina's English name Mandabuzz?

I imagine I'll get used to them eventually, though, and there are a few that I genuinely like. Woobat, for instance, is probably my favourite Pokémon name ever.

Who is the "we" here, and why am I just me? It's split right now, and to be fair, Gen IV and II don't exactly have clever names either. As for the rolling off the tongue thing? That wasn't even in the issue in your original post. You said you had a problem with the name origins being obvious, you did NOT say it has to do with the way they roll off the tongue. If you said THAT, I would have been able to understand where you're coming from, because Confagrigus (teehee) is a ridiculous name. Don't you go and say something completely different and then act as if I should have known what you were getting at, without clarification.
