Pokèmon Black & White Discussion

This is good news!

I probably will have too much work considering it's near the end of the semester to buy it straight away, but the prices might be a tiny bit less in a couple of weeks after?

If only. Nintendo have realised that their games will sell regardless of price, so you won't find it at a lower price unless it's pre-owned. And even then the stores hardly ever sell the pre-owned ones for a decent price.

To this day the Gamestops in my area still sell used copies of Pokemon emerald for around 30 bucks.

And to this day I still don't have Pokemon emerald. You can see the pattern.

GameStop is terrible with used games, everyone knows this. Every once in a while, they price a gem of a game much lower than its worth, probably due to obliviousness. But once I saw Marvel vs. Capcom 2 for the PS2 for 70 bucks, used. I shit you not.

I found One Piece Unlimited Adventure in there as well, for $30 a few weeks ago. That game's like super rare over here, a very limited number of english copies were made and copies online go for an arm and a leg.

Naturally it was an impulse buy for me. The game is average, but I think the novelty of how rare the game is makes up for what I payed.

It's 2 freakin' days guys, really? REALLY? I love Pokemon and all, but 2 days is nothing. Hell, it's pretty much simultaneous. Think if you were the Europeans who generally have to wait MONTHS. I don't even think Kirby's Epic Yarn has been released in EU yet.

Who are you saying that to? Nobody's overreacted here and been serious about it.

I don't know, guys. I'm too cynical when it comes to the internet to believe people seriously wouldn't be upset over a 2 day difference. I've seen the Steam forums.

This has to be the smallest launch window for Pokemon games ever. At least as far as the West is concerned. Fucking Japan ruining it and having it since September.

Why would you need to wait in line for a video game, dude? They never sell out, save for limited editions like MPT and Super Mario All-Stars. Just go to your local electronics giant on the 6th and you'll get it. Won't have to wait in line. This is coming from someone who lives in a major city.

It's the same case here in my local area and I live by a large busy shopping centre, but sometimes it can be fun to queue up before the store opens with popular games like these, because other fans will do it. Doing this means you not only get the game as soon as possible, but you get to have fun chatting with like-minded people and possibly make new friends :)

I like sleep too much to do Midnight launches. Then again, it's Boston. Drunk drivers a-go-go at that time of night, probably wise that I don't.

I don't tend to do midnight launches very often at all, but I'm always up for the early morning store openings at 8am or 9am where you get a similar crowd of fans to socialise with.

Oh yeah, I'm up for getting up for a morning mall visit. I don't tend to meet other gamers with similar interests, though. Save for the Brawl launch.

Pretty much what Shadzter said, I don't mind getting up early to get a game I want, especially If I get to talk with people along the way, and I wanna play the game as soon as possible.

The only time I've ever had to be in a line in a video game store was at HG/SS's launch morning. And there were only like two people ahead of me.

I've only preordered a game like once in my whole life, generally the games that I buy at day one release are those that nobody around here gives a damn about, like Ace Attorney Investigations. I don't have to worry about that selling out.

Legendary Dogs Wi-Fi Event Coming February 7th

ONM has revealed that Nintendo will be giving away the shiny Legendary Dogs over Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection from February 7th. No info on when they will be available until, unfortunately, so I suggest grabbing them as soon as possible. The event is open to all 5 current DS games Pokémon HeartGold, SoulSilver, Platinum, Diamond and Pearl.

I was thinking. Seeing as the 3DS is region-locked, I wonder if I could play a US Black or White on my PAL 3DS, because as far as I know it's region locked on the DSi. If I can't, that sucks, and I'm guessing it won't work.

The 3DS is compatible with DSi game cards and DSiWare games, which are all region locked, so I assume the 3DS has the same DSi region lock as well as the 3DS region lock.
