How does rumble even work with EBA?

Anyway, Seeing as how I'm leaving on vacation in less than 24 hours, I'm ganna play a lot of PSP, GBA and DS, but until then, it's HotD: Overkill. I'm telling you, shooting zombies never gets old.

I played Ouendan and Ouendan 2 a while back, because my friends wouldn't shut up about it. I'd have to agree with you on this one, Jake. Elite Beat Agents was just more satisfying, probably because all the songs were actually recognizable ones. The EBA themselves help the experience too.

What annoys me about the game, other than the overabundance of forgettable and sometimes just plain bad songs (with the exceptions of Ready Steady Go and possibly Over the Distance), is how mundane the majority of the scenarios are compared to their counterparts in Elite Beat Agents. In EBA, we got a badass mother manipulating the weather so her son could go picnicking with her, an insane taxi driver blasting through New York just to get a pregnant woman to the hospital, and even Leonardo goddamned da Vinci. Except for Over the Distance, I don't remember a single worthwhile scenario in Ouendan, as the only ones I can recall off the top of my head include a secretary trying to get her boss's affections, an old man trying to create pottery, and a kid playing dodgeball. Yeah, exciting.

And of course, EBA's final scenario was superior to that of Ouendan. I would take defeating aliens with the power of music over the depressing thought of being killed by a meteorite anyday, even if Ready Steady Go did pump up the factor of raw determination, which was a plus. Not to mention that the revival of the Agents right before the beginning of Jumpin' Jack Flash is incredible.

How does rumble even work with EBA?

Awesomely. Every beat you pull off correctly, the rumble activates. If you are really good at the game on the higher difficulty levels, it makes everything that much cooler. Especially the final two songs.

With the exception of maybe Space Invaders Extreme, it is the coolest use of Rumble on the system.

I would take defeating aliens with the power of rawk

Fixed.

Currently trying to beat Justice on Afro Samurai on "Number One Headband" Mode.

Fucking impossible.

Other than that just more Picross 3D on the DS, and P.B Winterbottom on the 360. It's so much better than Braid. :P

I spent a couple of hours today reading a freeware visual novel called Narcissu. It's about a non-romantic, terminally ill couple who run away from a hospital, deciding that they want to die neither there nor at home. You know how it ends from there. It's surprisingly bittersweet, though it offers no choices to make throughout the story. It also offers minimalistic graphics, meaning you get very few glimpses of what the characters look like.

Have been doing a lot of racing lately.

Bought a new PSN card and downloaded the Death Egg/Metal Sonic DLC, which served to get me hooked on Sega All-Stars Racing all over again. Was thinking of picking up ModNation Racers too, but ASR is fun enough to keep me from wanting another kart racer right now. And then I used the rest of the money to download the Fury add-on to WipEout HD. Added more to the game then I thought; should have got it earlier.

Once again, I've neglected After Burner until it was too late. Maybe next time.

Final Fantasy 13, this game and I have our differences... but with the money spent on it I will defeat it!

Oh yeah, MGS Peace Walker is awesome!

I'm playing 2 games of Pokémon Emerald at the moment... on my actual cartridge I'm finding my way through Victory Road.

The other game is a playthrough for the Tinychat room... SSMB members get to choose a 3rd gen Poké, and I'll raise it and use it in battles.

Downloaded Jett Rocket on WiiWare yesterday, finished it earlier. Very impressive for what it is, it's nice to see a company finally have the dedication to put out a full 3D platformer on WiiWare.

Yes, it's pretty short. And yes, it makes up for that with 'classic game syndrome', namely no checkpoints and minimal health items to give the game that retro type of cheap difficulty purely for the extent of making the game last longer, but hey- when you're paying £7 for a 12-level 3D platformer, that's pretty forgiveable. Also, if they didn't do that, you'd be able to finish it in about an hour. Gotta like how they added achievements to the game, too.

Also on world 5 of my second playthrough of Mario Galaxy 2, will aim to finish that tomorrow. Also been playing the odd bits of Naruto Shippuden: Ninja Council 4 and Clash of Ninja Revolution 3. May also download Bit. Trip Runner tomorrow, not sure.

Super Mario Galaxy 2. I wasn't planning on getting it so soon, but I got an unexpected $50 gift card to GameStop and figured I might as well. Not like the price was going to drop no matter how long I waited.

Overall, I'd say it's better than the first Galaxy, if only because of how interesting the level design and boss battles can get later on. There's also a whole lot more 2D gameplay here compared to the first, which is another big plus for me. Also Yoshi. I like Yoshi.

I also loved the nostaglia injected into the game. Especially since Super Mario WOrld is my favorite Mario game. Yoshi and the Hammerhead Bros were only the beginning. A huge smile spread over my face when....

...I got to the Moving Purple Blocks in the first Bowser Castle. Then came the Lava Hippos, Ghost House remix, etc.

Glad I didn't spoil myself, as that was a great surprise.

A bit disappointed in the more simplistic direction of the presentation. The storybook thing was kind of a buzzkill. The soundtrack isn't quite as good as Galaxy 1 either (though the music for the desert level and the Bowser Castle remix did stand out).

It was also easier than expected. After hearing Nintendo's reason for including the Super Guide and getting some impressions beforehand, I was expecting Galaxy 2 to be tougher. I suppose it was harder than the first game, but that's not saying much at all. Granted, I haven't gotten all the stars yet. Maybe the challenging stuff is hidden in there.

Great game. Not sure if I'd agree with the 10/10 scores, but it's a helluva good time regardless.

Playing a few games I received for my birthday. Right now currently playing Left 4 Dead 1 again (I had borrowed in the past but not own) and for the Wii Final Fantasy Crystal Bearers.

After this going to move to Condemned 2: Bloodshot for 360 and No More Heroes 2 for Wii.

Just got Dragon Quest IX, really liking it. I'd recommend it if you're okay with minimal story, turn-based RPGs.

MegaMan X6

So far my only true mortal enemy is Sigma's Tiny white balls of DOOM. I lost a good majority of lives because of his unpredictability. Not only that but I was using Zero, without the black armor, and no subtanks ( I forgot to find them >.>).

I just got back from holiday, and I'd been playing a fair few games, completed a few of them even.

Super Princess Peach

Cute game that I love, surprisingly tricky at parts considering what I'd heard about it. I played it until I'd 100%d everything, even those sometimes broken and annoying minigames.

I was surprised to find that Perry's story isn't concluded in any way... SEQUEL PLEASE.

The World Ends with You

This was much shorter than I had hoped for, it was enjoyable but frustrating at times, and a little repetitive too. Anyway I started playing the post-game stuff but stopped because some of the bosses were annoying me. I was stuck on the final boss for ages, really hard. Dx

Mario & Luigi: SuperStar Saga

I've had this game for years, but until recently I was stuck on that rocky tree boss blocking the way to the Toad town you gotta escort Peach to. Well after trying a few more times I beat it, and ploughed my way through the rest of the game. I'm now stuckj on Bowletta.

Elite Beat Agents

Not enjoying this game as I perhaps should, in Agent J's missions I suck at timing because I haven't heard many of the songs before, and there are so few beats that I end up losing the rhythm a little.

LEGO Harry Potter was just sent, and I can't fucking wait for that :D Will probably keep playing M&L and EBA in the meantime.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, Joe Danger, and Astal. Very good games, but I like Peace Walker the most.

I finally kicked Sigma's shiny metal a$$ on Megaman X4 after losing over a dozen lives and an equal number of sub-tanks using Zero with the black armor.

Currently working on NFS Carbon's career mode and made it past the chase with Cross.

Didn't play anything else for a two day period because I had to look after the house while my parents were out on vacation. Had to take care of the plants and garden.

I’ve been slumming through my usual truckload of games, but I have hit a bit of a speed-bump on the last Festival rank of MotorStorm 2. Com seems to be racing particularly dirty (not like they were saints originally) and every single racer seems to be united against me. Since I don’t accept anything short of 1st when it comes to MotorStorm, it might take me a few extra sitdowns to knock this game off.

… and I still haven’t beat Red Dead Redemption. I keep getting sidetracked hunting and looking for cooler horses to ride. These 99 wolf pelts will come in handy, you’ll see.

I've downloaded Blacklight: Tango Down and am having a blast with it so far.

I'm still playing Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion; I'm gonna finish the story before I do all of the other quests (especially the Guild Quests, still need to get some achievements out of them).

I also started up Fallout 3 again in which I kick even more ass than I do in Oblivion (Silenced 10mm pistol and a good 1000+ Bottlecaps in the beginning of the game makes me a happy camper). Currently doing some of the Survival Guide quests and stumbled upon Agatha's Song somehow.

Since I bought my friends 360 I've been playing The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion a lot for some nostalgia tripin' since that was the second game I played when I had my first 360. Other than that, The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind, Mass Effect, and Rock Band. And the occasional bit of trying to slog through Dragon Age just to see how the story ends but jeez is the rest of the game ever boring. Seems like Bioware's games are always either really good or really awful.

Not played anything as yet today (reading up on some stuff for a job interview later!), but yesterday I was playing Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands. I enjoyed what I played, I do get the distinct feeling that it's not going to be overly long, though.

Oh well, it was the collector's edition for £13, so I've at least got Prince of Persia Classic to entertain me as well.

I've been alternating between Blazblue working on my Hazama and Street Fighter IV, trying to settle on a main. I'm thinking Zangief but I just don't yet have the patience. EVO this year put me ina massive fighting game frenzy.

Still working my way through FFXIII and Bayonetta. Get them both the week they came out but just haven't got round to playing them with ridiculously busy work schedule :(

Ended up buying Sega Superstars Tennis today for £5! A cheeky bit of multiplayer action for next to nothing ha
