Your Unanswered Sonic Questions

I've been very paranoid about it so far. I played the game on my 360 years back as a kid when it first came out. Remember seeing a screen in Adabat where it said I required an insane amount of Sun Medals to proceed and I just quit the game.

This time around, so far, I've only done up to Holoska Day Stage 1 and I have 73 medals.

I've heard that you are required to collect 200 medals to beat the game (which IMO is completely ridiculous), but I've seen that you're required to have 120 medals total for Adabat, but there's no medals required for Eggmanland.

So what's the total amount?

Thanks!

I don't know if this one's already answered but I got another one.

How in the hell is Sonic able to suvive in the vaccum of space, without going or even the protection of Super Sonic?

@theofficefan99 I can answer that since I got all the medals, there are 200 medals each, (400 medals in total) so you will need at least a minimum of 120 sun medals and I think 80 moon medals respectively to beat the game, and yes no medals are requiered for Eggmanland.

Bigger question is how can he breathe in space, but not under water.

My question has been asked a million times, but still. How can Tails fly? It logically is impossible unless it's the rotary bones/or ass theory. Or perhaps I use my head canon of magical kitsune whatever as magic is magic, and it doesn't need to be explained XD

Maybe his tails just float next to his body.

That is a good question that has been asked many times. Scientists have been trying to figure this great mystery out for years. Even careful camera footage that has been slowed down failed to explain this mystery. Computer models of Tails flight demonstrated that his tails would lock up. However careful scientific analysis did find that Tails tails was able to spin at a mind blowing 17,000 rpms and possibly faster. Personally I am not too sure, but you could paint one tail a different color and see if it ends up on the other side to at least prove the rotary thing. Stick with the kitsune magic for now or better yet ask the real Tails himself.

I have question. How is Charmy able to fly with such tiny wings and carry Espio and Vector?

Because bees don't care what humans think is impossible.

And I've been wondering: Was Tails really turned into a robot/cyborg in Lost World? We see him reprogramming the computer he's stuck to, but what did he do: Make it so he'd just keep his free will when he was roboticized, or shut the whole process down and make a robot disguise using nearby machinery? And if he really was turned into a machine, how'd he get back to normal?

I assumed that it was going to be more akin to the Cybernik than full Roboticization (was it ever termed that way in Japan? Did they even know of the Roboticization process? Is this and what the comics did truly related?), with a skintight Badnik wrapped around him.

How much of Shadow the Hedgehog is actually canon?

The last story is definitely canon, so from that we can assume the following events ARE canon:

Black Doom fired the Eclipse Cannon onto Central City, but everyone was evacuated in time (The President is seen in GUN Fortress in the Last Ending).

Eggman attempted to trick Shadow into thinking he was an Android (Eggman apologises for this during the final boss if you wait long enough, revealing to Shadow that he is the real thing).

Shadow gathered all the emeralds, and he, Sonic and everyone else stormed the Black Comet. Shadow was against Black Doom when he did so in some capacity (how the Last Story begins, of course).

All backstory-related stuff, such as the GUN Commander's connection to Shadow etc, is canon.

Those are the big ones, however it should be noted that it's impossible for all these things to happen in one playthrough of the game.

Basically, when you play the main game in Shadow the Hedgehog, you craft your own story, a "what could have been" scenario.  Of course the biggest confliction is that in your own personal path, Shadow finds the Chaos Emeralds in the exact stages you choose to go to.  The Emeralds can't be multiple places at once, so it's safe to assume that even that is an example of how each playthrough is an alternate possibility for Shadow's journey.

The true canon story, in the proper order, is something we never get to see, the only things we know for sure are canon - in some capacity - are the events that have to have happened for the Last Story to make sense.

And just for the icing on the confusion cake, Shadow's "VR Training" in the game's Hard Mode: on the basis of it's absurdity as a concept, and the fact that the deceased Maria and Gerald cheer Shadow on with all the other characters, it's probably safe to assume it's non-canon overall.  However the sentiment of the GUN Commander's messages, in which he apologises for his actions and offers an invitation to patch things up with Shadow are probably canon, as this would sensibly, lead into Shadow's working for GUN in 2006.  By extension of this, the GUN Commander confronting Shadow on the ARK is probably canon as well.

“Shadow you’re hiding something”

I was recently playing through White Jungle, and I remember hearing this line. What do they mean? I don't recall Shadow hiding something at all in SA2...

Considering the point in the story at which you first play White Jungle, hiding the fact that he's out to destroy the world using the Eclipse Cannon(consider that Eggman just waned to use the thing to blackmail the world's governments to give him absolute control).

Where did the Phantom Ruby come from?

The Phantom Ruby's existence isn't a spoiler.

It came from a dimensional breach in the atmosphere in the classic dimension. Dimensional breach from where? Uh.. another dimension.

What zone does AOSTH take place in?

What's the canon path of Shadow the Hedgehog?

What happens when you get three Amys on the Sonic table in Casinopolis?

Does Tikal exist in the Classic dimension?

Does Chaos exist in the Classic dimension?

Why Vanilla alright with her daughter going on dangerous adventures?

I know this is a long time time trying to theorise an answer, so how about five different potential answers.

1. The very first adventure proved Cream's ability enough for any future adventure - Her first adventure on her own was going out to rescue her mother herself, so naturally that would indicate that Cream is very much capable of going on these adventures. Helps that pretty much every adventure after had her teamed up with an older figure, if not an entire ensemble cast.

2. Six years old is genuinely seen as a normal age to be that independent - This one kinda had points for and against it. On the one hand, some games have made it a point that older characters take extra care to look out for Cream's safety like the child she is. On the other hand, Tails is just as into the fray as any of the older cast members, and nobody bats an eyelid at detective Charmy Bee throwing his efforts into a literal warzone (in contrast to the comic).

Actually, that could even start a discussion about more subtle displays of sexism within the Sonic series...but that's really not this topic.

3. Vanilla just doesn't give a shit - Even with what little info we have, that doesn't seem like her character. Neglect doesn't seem her thing.

4. Vanilla's more of a passive character that wouldn't stop Cream anyway - This one's a bit more within the realm of possibility. While she's said to be strict with Cream's manners, that seems like a very typical motherly trait to begin with, so doesn't really suggest whether or not she's more authorative than that. Again, loops around into a discussion that's not for this topic considering the difference between how fanworks tend to portray her and how she's presented in the games.

5. Sonic Team just aren't arsed to justify every adventure against Vanilla's position - Ultimately, Vanilla is not an important character to the franchise, ever since Sonic Rush she's basically been a thing to give Cream a little more character, so justifying the adventures isn't worth their time.

Personally, I think the most likely answers are 1 and 5. Both quick, simple and not needing effort to apply to all the games.

Was Eggman considered a terrorist in the Adventure era? I recall the president saying "We'll never surrender to terrorists!" regarding the Black Arms, so I probably answered my own question...

If that's the case: how would a globally-wanted man be able to afford making state-of-the-art creations; like those majestic fish ships?

By fleeing to the Animal Planet, where the United Federation has no jurisdiction

Probably the many companies he owns:

I always assumed the Riders games were their own sub-canon. But still I find it hilarious that Eggman's able to run a bunch of successful companies, despite being an well-known global threat. I can't imagine all those political strings he must be pulling... :P

What adventure comes before Sonic Unleashed?

Sonic's clearly at the end of an adventure in the opening cutscene...What adventure is this? Is it one we've played? Is it somehow Sonic 06? If so, where's Elise?

What about that cutscene gave you impression it was 06-related?

Anyway, it's one we've never played.

Although I've seen many a headcanon about it being the conclusion to whatever was going on in Chronicle's cliffhanger.

I mean, it did come directly after Sonic 06 in terms of release. The Chronicles idea actually kinda makes sense.
