Also, it's funny. I hated the Monkey Ball stages at first, now I love at least two of them. Maybe because they're some of the hardest tracks in the game, and once you've got the hang of them it's immensely satisfying, especially that final madcap climb in Monkey Target.

Thats just because you kicked my ass two or three times at that one Monkey Ball track in our online DS races earlier

Best/worst thing about online games is when the host tosses you into levels you've never played before and then talks smack about you online when you place 8th. I never played the locked JSRF tracks until yesterday! I swear! My drifting does not suck!

Here's a topic:

What tracks have y'all yet to play?

I have not played Monkeyball pirate and desert tracks. Also, I've only played the Samba mountain track and the Dino mountain track once.

I have yet to play all tracks. I don't own the game yet :( I'll get it by the end of the month, though...:)

S0L is here! I have a question S0l. I hope you know the answer..

I live in Germany, so if I get the German version (For 360), can I still switch to english voices? Or am I stuck with the German announcer?

Another one to chalk up the innuendo list from the announcer:

"Big showing he can give as good as take" >.>

That's an image I didn't need right now... cheers for that!:blink::lol::lol:

I'm the same. I hated them at first playthrough, during the Grand Prix. I came to dread the Sandy Drifts in Detrius Desert... I think that was the first time I ever came second (make your own jokes). That's still my worst course, I'd probably say, but the other two? I love 'em now. Jumble Jungle - Treetops can be great fun through those manic right-angle turns, especially if you nail all the corners to the nearest inch. Pirates' Ocean - Monkey Target has to be one of my favourite courses in the entire game, outside the Sonic-themed ones. Brings back classic memories of trying that blasted Monkey Target game with my flatmates at university, and you're right about that "final madcap climb"... especially since there are weapons to be grabbed on the second-to-last turn! That's a perfect placement of weapons right there!

Still, nothing beats the three Casino Park courses. Nothing. :D

What's all this about the Wii version being hacked? Already?!

I have yet to play online and now my experience of it will probably be ruined by people who just want to spoil everyone else's fun.

Fingers crossed I can avoid them <_<

Wait, what? Why haven't you tried those stages yet? Didn't give GP a shot?

I've been busy the past week. GOt a good 5 hours in, but much of that time was racing the JSRF and Sonic tracks over and over. time trails ate up a lot of time too :P

I have not played Monkeyball pirate

That level will test your drifting skills - believe me. I'm sure that's the level with those damn tight corners! Now that I've completed everything 1000/1000, I'm attempting to top the leaderboards I'm currently in 9th place on one track (unsure which one), but I have no idea how in the hell those guys at the top can move so fast. I've literally mirrored there moves, but they always have that lead. Must... try... harder!

I cannot figure out how to jump over both lakes at the beginning of Whale Lagoon. Any tips? I can occasionally jump the second one, but can't find the "sweet spot". Check out the time trial champ. The leader hops right over them!

On your second lap you should have enough speed to jump over the first one, but the second jump requires a speed-up power, at least from my experience. However, I can never reach the height that the current first place holder gains.

If you use the ghosts as a guideline, they should show you the location of where to jump on the first lake. On the second, you need to aim towards the exit of the first drifting section (on the left side). There should be a small ramp in the landscape. Upon hitting that, activate your speed-up.

Nice! Thanks for the tips. I always like showing off that move in online mode. Makes me 1337.

Speaking of the Monkey Ball tracks, 2 of them have become my favorites now too. I love the Treetops and Monkey Target. Sandy Drifts is ok, but I'm better at the other two, and I love all the turns. Especially since they can help me screw over the guys who pick Shadow and think they're amazing, but can't even keep straight on course in The Treetops. :P

We're looking into the reports we've had, but with our testing here we can't reproduce them. It's entirely possible if they're done in a certain way it can go wrong - just we can't find it. Typically the Achievement ones we've heard about could be caused if you don't return back to the front end when finishing a race. Basically it has to save to update the tracker, but some of the achievement triggers also need you to roll through the front end.Take the Ghost Master one, it actually checks the saves when you hit the front end, so if you have beat all the Ghosts, then quit out to the Dash, as we've not been back to the front end, we haven't checked all the saves are there - but the tracker can be updated... GAH! It should pick it up the next time you've been in and out mind.

If the designers had picked some easy things to code....

That said if we do manage to recreate any of the reported ones (and we are trying) we'll look to address them.

Thanks for the response, S0L. :)

Yes you can jump them both, it's easy, during your first one press the drift button to trigger a trick, when you land you'll automatically engage boost and be able to rocket over the second no item needed.

Y'know those "hidden" trophies on the PlayStation3 version? Yeah, I got one! :D

Don't know if anybody else has talked about this before, but I was super-happy when this random trophy popped up and I was all "Hold on, I don't recognise that...?!" I got it totally by accident, too (well, obviously, since I didn't know about it). Was doing the Grand Prix again after yesterday, was on Final Fortress - Dark Arsenal and cheekily attempted one of those epic jumps while in a comfortable lead. When I was finally respawned on the track, I was in last place... oops. So grabbed an All-Star Move pretty sharpish and got to work regaining ground.

Trophy: "Sonic Unleashed"

Rank: Bronze

Description: Use Sonic's All-Star Move to take out Dr. Eggman and show him who's boss!

This has now made me insanely curious as to the other hidden trophies and, more specifically, what they could be? I wonder if this has a connection to some of the more cryptic "Sonic Says..." hints during the loading screens, like the one about the ChuChus having a problem with a giant cat or Ryo Hazuki showing himself to be the best martial artist? Perhaps that means two of the others involve using the ChuChus and Ryo during an All-Star to decimate Big the Cat and Jackie, respectively?

Has anybody else unlocked any more of these, and what did you have to do?! I must know!

The Monkey Ball stages really do grow on you. I spent two months hating every minute of them, and then something "clicked" and I started getting really good at tricking my way through Sandy Drifts, drifting all the way around Treetops and acing Monkey Target's final section every time!

If your 360 is set to English, then the game will be in English. If it's set to German, the game will be in German. This works on all European copies regardless of where you actually are - I think the Italian announcer is funny, especially when he calls Amigo a "groovy monkey". :)

Everything that Sonic Says that isn't a gameplay hint relates to a secret. Might be an achievement, might be something else, but it's all relevant - he doesn't say things for no reason!

I've unlocked a few, some of them are unlocked in certain missions because of the conditions.

"Giant Egg" you'll unlock in the mission that requires you to crush crows with Billy's all star.

And "Top skater" will unlock in the boosting mission with Beat in Shibuya Downtown.

PS3 Trophies.co.uk doesnt seem to have the game listed yet, PS3 Trophies.org does but they havent updated with the Secret trophies yet. They are the same as the Xbox 360 Achievements so just follow the instructions there.

Thanks to CNash and Bats (don't mind if I call you that, do you?) for the intel there! :)

Damn, this game is going to be my obsession until I've discovered all there is to discover... and then, what's the betting the DLC will be released the next day?!

EDIT: thanks to Shadzter there, too... *gets clicking on the links*

So far I've got 32 out of the 50 trophies. I tried getting that one that Dat Kool Bat Guy mentioned but I don't actually know how. Never mind, that's for another day. Thanks guys. :D

I've no idea, I think knowing when you can risk a bit of speed is part of it, I settled for a AA in the end :V

If we're talking about the pots one on the sambo level... I've just done it now and got AAA on my second go. I didn't see what the problem was. I had I think around 7 seconds left over.
