Looks like curiosity killed the bat:

Mad Gear is freaking awesome but it does prove that the whole game is essentially Sonic 1 & 2 abridged. While it's nice to see nostalgic designs used again I hope this is limited to just Ep. 1. Dimps are capable of creating some new and unique level designs and gimmicks for Sonic games based on what they've done in the Advance and Rush series. Overall I'm still really excited about this game, I just want some NEW stuff from now on or at least rehash Sonic CD/S3&K in the next episodes.

Now to avoid watching these vids again for the next 3 months so the game is somewhat fresh to me

I'm positive the game won't live up to the classic series IMO, but I'd be lying if I said it doesn't still look pretty damn fun. Then again I actually enjoyed the Advance and Rush games. I still think this will be one of the best downloadable titles released.

You know, I hated Mad Gear back when it was called Metropolis in Sonic 2. Ugh, these vids gave me very bad MZ flashbacks, gear rising among slicers was not funny back in S2 and is certainly not funny now .

SEGA has no choice but to put them in PartnerNET if it wants them to be released to the XBLA.

When that first appeared, I thought I'd missed something in one of the previous videos. However, my guess is it relates to the boss battle and the... bubbles.

Ah, I typed the post before I actually watched the boss. XD Can agree with that though, thanks! It was pretty epic at the end.

Now that is a boss fight. Visually similar to the Metropolis Zone boss, but it plays completely differently. The giant Eggman balloon things during the second half surprised the crap out of me. I hope the bosses in Episode 2 and beyond are more like this than like the earlier bosses. *fingers crossed*

EDIT: I'm loving the pressure gauges on the steam vents; they're a nice touch.

Atleast he hasn't leaked the game. That'd be disastarous! What in the world is IRC? And if people are able to get in contact with him still, what's stopping SEGA?

This looks good. Wish it was new. Oh well. All we need now is Egg Station Zone and that clifhanger

Sega should take these leaks as an oppurtunity to get our opinions.

Mine are:

- Would like to see some mid in-level story telling. (aka sonic and knuckles rendevous with knuckles throughout carnival night and mushroom hill)(and hidden palace zone).

- New level designs not based from sonic 1 & 2.

That's it really. The game looks sweet.

That's exactly what I'm wondering. Since SEGA is trying their best to stop these leaks by removing them from every site they see, why not cut it off at the source? The fact that Ruby sent Endri a C&D letter for simply saying that he was gonna leak the game, yet is completely ignoring Infinity (who has leaked videos of the entire game) baffles me. Although Ruby/SEGA might have sent him a letter, but he's simply ignoring it. In which case, they should definelty take legal action.

Anyway, about these leaks: I tried my best to not watch them, but I watched all of Splash Hill, watched Act 1 and 2 of LLZ, and watched Act 1 of Casino Street. I was gonna completely ignore Mad Gear, Egg Station, and the Special Stage, but I wanna see

Super Sonic. And wow, it's good to be back, in all his music raping bliss. The gear running at 1:31 was SEXAY!

Though I think now is as good a time as ever to say that they should really speed up his walking animation to match the speed he's actually going.

After watching all the leaked footage, I have to say...

I kinda like what I'm seeing. I can't say I'm not disapointed by the shitty engine, or by all the reused stuff, but... It looks interesting enough.

Honnestly, it could have been worse, guys. You can complain, but it really could have been worse...

Looking again it could be those similar titling platforms where Sonic's in a ball. Maybe they just decided to go for a more basic design for them.

These leaks haven't really ruined anything for me. For one, it's only episode 1; Second, he only went through one path in the whole game (which were the homing chains), and I'll be spending the majority of the time time-attacking, collecting Emeralds to become Super Sonic, exploring all the routes and gimmicks in the stages, and

drooling over the fact Metal Sonic will be in the next episode.

as far as the rehashes go, i'm not too worried. The story thus far stuff says that eggman is re using the best of his old inventions and trying to improve them to beat sonic, so it kinda makes sense that we're seeing a lot of old stuff. i think that's just the way Ep. 1 is gonna be though, and that Ep. 2 and 3 will be a lot of new material.
