Just finished watching them and the whole zone looks awesome. I don't get why this leak stuff has happened again, surely SEGA would have sorted Infinity out after the last 2 leaks. Tristan has posted them up as he did the first 2 but what was odd last time is that Tristan said in the comments of 1 of the 2 posts that he hadn't been contacted by SEGA to remove them. This is just

The general consensus for this game is that it DOES look very Sonic-y. Hell, even a few dudes I know who have been against Sonic from the Segtendo wars say it looks fun. Not to mention we have Casino Street, an almost exact copy of Casino Night, and damnit that makes me happy.

The most annoying thing is the end of act CSZ 3. A string of platforms over a bottmless pit right before the goal.

ARGH! That is a Dimps brand bullcrap level quirk! Don't believe me, play just about any later level in Rush, or the Advances. THEY ALWAYS DO THAT CRAP! I did NOT want to see those in this game :|

I'd relax a little bit about this though. So far, in 3 zones, we've only seen 2 spots where there are bottomless pits that could potentially be annoying. ONLY 2!! That's awesome!!!

Aaaaaaaand by the way, old Sonic games had bottomless pits too, trust me. Go back and replay them. No, there aren't nearly as many as in the Advance 2, 3, and Rush games, but they still did exist. So only having 2 so far is not bad AT ALL

Why couldn't we have had something else carnivally/casino-y instead of such a blatant retread as this? A county fair springs to mind, a travelling carnival (I watch Heroes, it looks like a good idea to me...) or a somewhat stereotypical desert casino, something of that nature. Why do we need Casino Night Zone Acts 3, 4 and 5 when there are so many other ways to go about implementing the same theme?

I think it's not so much a pure retread of Casino Night as much 3 different Casino stages.

Act 1 is Casino Night Zone retread, it looks exactly like Casino Night.

Act 2 is like Casinopolis from Adventure 1, except points instead of rings and no sewer.

Act 3 is a lot like Spring Yard Zone mixed with Star Light and with canons.

That said, Casino Zones with a few exceptions like Casinopolis and... Well, actually, here's a better way to put it. Casino Stages in the 2D Sonic games have never been my favorite. I loved Casino Park in Heroes (and Bingo Highway), Casinopolis in Adventure, and Circus Park in Shadow the Hedgehog even. However, Spring Yard, Casino Night, and Carnival Night have always been tedious to me. So coming from that standpoint, it actually doesn't look that bad to me.

I agree with Patticus. Looks way too similar to Casino Night for my tastes, right down to the boss. Color me disappointed.

Not that it doesn't look FUN, but still.

Hm. It's easily the most recycled of the three zones we've seen, and I've honestly never been a huge fan of casino levels anyway (yeah, blasphemy, I know), but it still looks like quite a lot of fun. The manually-aimed cannons in Act 3 look like quite an improvement on the timing-based ones from Carnival Night Zone as well.

The act subtitles continue to baffle me, though. "High-Speed Athletics"? "Neon City Adrift in the Night"? "Casino Climax"? ...actually, I quite like the sound of "Neon City"; it sounds sort of Tron-ish. Maybe that's what this level should have been.

Oh, so now Iizuka is doing that same gimmick level (as opposed to level gimmick) crap he did with Journey of Dreams. BECAUSE THAT WORKED SO GREAT THE FIRST TIME. Oh, and more HA over a <blank>, this time it's over spikes.

And (referring to the cannons) that Iizuka has upgraded from copying DKC to copying Wario Land. I suppose that's an improvement, but it's not hard to beat Carnival Night Zone.

Because, one, this is an admitted rehash. Two, the stage looks amazing even if it IS all reused, and three, damnit I love Casino Night Zone so I couldn't give less of a shit if this was called "Sonic 2 Extended Version" it would still be awesome.

I'm not usually one to get disappointed or look at the down side about the games, so far I've always enjoyed every game to some extent at the very least (Sonic06 is an exception) but this time...

I'm not liking what I'm seeing. It doesn't doesn't look, play, sound or feel like how I believe Sonic the Hedgehog 4 should. Sonic 4 should be able to take what Sonic 3 did to what Sonic 2 did to what Sonic 1 did, to a whole new level and it's just not doing that. Instead it's just taking elements from all 3 and copy/pasting them rather than developing them.

I don't believe anymore that even if this was released in 1995 or whatever straight after Sonic 3...it would be looked upon as as brilliant as the first 3.

5 or whatever straight after Sonic 3...it would be looked upon as as brilliant as the first 3.

'course not, they've got a decade and a half of rust to work off first, and this from a series that's been struggling to put out something merely decent for most of that time. It shouldn't surprise anyone that they aren't instantly hitting perfect 10's...what's important is that they're taking the first steps, and trying to make a solid entry in the series. If they can do that, they can start worrying about making the Greatest Game Ever Made with Sonic 5.

Also did we seriously just get Casino Street leaked after I had said I wasn't going to pay attention to any more major leaks? Because seriously.

...I still downloaded them in case my resolve breaks...

If you lack the will power to not watch the leaks, then consider it like, beta footage or something and then look for differences in the final =P

Then you get two games in one, all for the low price of $5

The main problem I had with this zone is the boss. It was almost an exact copy of the Sonic 2 boss except not as good and it looked really easy.

Quick question, wasn't there an achievement to unlock for completing every level as Super Sonic? How on earth are we supposed to do that on the mine cart level and act 2 of Casino Street? Not to mention it seems we won't be able to fight Eggman as Super Sonic anymore since the boss fight is it's own level and we most likely won't be able to get 50 rings. =/

I'm definitely going to avoid the Mad Gear,Special Stages & Final Zone leaks, I feel Infinity will leak the whole game onto the interwebs even if he did say that he was not going to leak anymore that just a big fat lie in my eyes, on a random note Sonic 4 Episode 1 Trailer is in second spot with Mega Man 10 in first on the Top Download section of the Arcade on Xbox Live so people on Xbox Live like what they seen in the trailer but possibly not seen the leaks like us (but i perfer what i've seen in the leaks than in the trailer XD)

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. CSZ2 has the slot machine, so you could build up the rings, but where would you transform? Unless you can jump out of the ball right at the end, which would be lame. As for LLZ2, either you could transform pointlessly or not at all. Maybe the achievement ignores certain acts.

Infinity said he wasn't going to leak anymore after he leaked Lost Labyrinth but he has so he'll surely leak Mad Gear too and then the Special Stages. I don't see what benefit he gains from showing people footage of a game a few months early.

Thing is, I don't want to spoil anymore. Heck, I didn't want to spoil past the first video of SHZ1. But so long as they come out, people will talk. And if people talk, you're gonna get curious. It's very hard not to watch them or find out what everyone is on about.

I'm the same, I wish none of it had been leaked or at least not the levels after SHZ as I just get too curious and can't resist looking at them. Infinity should have just kept it all to himself, he had nothing to gain from leaking this stuff anyway and Tristan's no better by hosting them all on his site despite knowing SEGA don't want them there or anywhere on the net.

At this point, so much has been leaked already that I just want to see the rest and get it over with. I've seen three-quarters of it; I might as well go all the way so I don't have to avoid entire threads.

...of course, I'm a total sucker for spoilers in general. I peek at birthday presents and everything.

Does anyone think that he will leak Super Sonic gameplay soon after he leaked everything about the game out ?

As Octarine said, he's leaked 3 quarters of the game so he'll very likely leak the last zone, the final foss battle, the special stages and Super Sonic. He's already lied about stopping after the first 2 zones by leaking the third so even if he says he'll stop here why wouldn't he lie now?

I'd like to point out it's not Infinity that leaked this, he knows someone who's leaking it but he stopped after Lost Labyrinth. SOMEONE ELSE posted this guy's links today of Casino Street, someone on Retro.

I heard Infinity passed on the stuff to someone he knows to leak it for him, I must have misheard. There were so many pages since I was on Retro yesterday that I didn't want to search through them forever

Couldn't Infinity do anything to stop this person from leaking it?

Or maybe Retro could ban members who post links to leaks? It's a shame some mods don't have the bollocks.

And I'm done watching videos. No more for me. :)

After seeing the first two levels, I quickly stopped. If i want to enjoy Sonic 4 like I did with 1-3 as a child and enjoy it first hand and get excited. I want to re experience that inner child for me. So yea, I probably will also stop looking in this thread so I don't get spoiled.
