SSB:

Best Character: Mr.Game&Watch, this guy lets me take on any skilled player and works with my reaction-based defensive playing style.

Worst Character: (Out of my 10 regulars) King Dedede...I'm out of practice with this one and using Wii-mote only gimps my ability to use him proper.

Bonus: Jigglypuff in online matches...as a way to troll peopletongue.png

Lol Sakurai, that wasnt very nice of you, couldnt you have just said "Bowser now has super shield/armor/whatever on his Up smash" or "Sonic goes for the homing attack, but gets stopped by Bowsers sharp spikes"  but no... just "Sonic, failure" :P

Geno fans are still a thing?  He's just as irrelevant as any of the other partners in that game or the other RPGs.  I'm pretty sure the only reason anyone likes him is because Square made him and he's "Kingdom Hearts-y" as all-get-out.

Seriously, this shit was stupid when Brawl was in production, it's even more retarded now.

In terms if new Metroid reps... What about Trace or Weavil(?) from Prime Hunters? I know they're both pretty specialised, but I could see them at least playing different to other cast members.

Trace relying on becoming invisible and sniping, and Weavil splitting in half to melee enemies.

I'd be very very upset if a couple of reskins from a meh-at-best game got in over the main villain(s). :\

Just make Ridley work.  It's not as hard as people make it out to be, as long as you don't try to give his wings hitboxes.

I'm still perfectly fine with Samus being her only representation. The way her series works is largely alone and isolated, which I thought was always neat how it reflected to her being the only person from her games in the Smash Bros. dealeo. Other than Ridley, none of the other characters from the series are hardly memorable or important, that would work as characters anyways. That said I'm honestly in the boat that Ridley would be a pretty boring character and kinda only added in as fluff if he were added in. He seems much more suited for a one-shot attack from an Assist trophy or a stage hazard, but that's just me anyways. I thought Zero Suit Samus was an imaginative way to give more out of the Metroid rep without having to throw in a completely new character; it's still just Samus kicking all sorts of ass, just now in multiple ways *shrugs*.

Since I guess everyone was saying it the past 2 pages, my bests in Brawl were Wolf and Game and Watch. I'd say Sonic but honestly I think that character has to rely way too much on items most of the time to actually KO anything, which is the only time I'm good with him lmao. Maybe I just suck as Sonic without items haha. Animal love aside, I really like how balanced Wolf is since he's pretty powerful and just the right amount of speed. It also feels sooooo good landing his side-smash perfectly on a character. Game and Watch is someone I've liked using since Melee, but he felt more smooth to me in Brawl which is good. Like his crazy randomness such as keeping players juggled with his air blowing Air Up-A move thing.

Kinda sad though since I fully expect Wolf to be cut from this game. Even though I find him a more original character than Falco in terms of gameplay, Falco is just way more popular, and if anything they could take this opportunity to scale it back to just Fox and Falco, making Falco not a clone anymore possibly. Though seeing Toon Link and some other returning characters, pretty doubtful of this, but oh whale.

Yeah I have no problem with Samus being the only Metroid Rep either.

I still hope for Palutena to join Pit for representing Kid Icarus, but It's okay with me if she doesn't make it in.

Kid Icarus absolutely deserves another rep, and I'd be a little surprised if it didn't get one. I'd still rather get someone from the Underworld Army or Forces of Nature than Palutena, though, for variety's sake. Plus it'd just be nice to have a few more villains.

I wouldn't be surprised if Sakurai just threw Dark Pit in as another rep with slightly different moves, even though I'd prefer Dark Pit just to be an alternate colour skin.

I don't care if Kid Icarus gets an additional rep or not.

But please, for the love of all that is right in the world, please let there be Easter Egg conversations in the Reset Bomb Forest stage with the Uprising Cast like there is for Corneria, Shadow Moses, and Lylat Cruise. I would literally main Pit and do my damnedest to activate those conversations in every single match I play there.

I'm gonna be honest and say that I'd like Krystal to take place of Wolf in this game.

Everybody immediately now turns to Azonky and tears him limb from limb, the moderators sweeping up the remains of the carcass. It was a tragic day, RIP in peace Azoo, written on the tombstone "you shouldn't have done that."

But no really, I know Wolf is more different in his moveset than Falco meaning he has more worth of staying than him, but come on, it's Falco. The reason I'd disclude Wolf is because him and Fox are just too similar in design, Falco is a beautiful animal and isn't a canine, and Krystal is different enough to where she'd be pretty fun to play as.

I mean seriously, she'd actually be totes badass to play as, and I don't care if dirty folk jump all over the game because of her either, because you knew no matter what that was gonna happen anyways. The reason she'd be totally badass to play as is because she could use her staff to fight and have all these mystic abilities. We need more weapon-wielding characters in Smash, and one with a flipping staff? That's new, that's awesome, and because she'd be another female added to balance the meatfest roster PLUS would give some variety to the StarFox characters I'd say we have her in.

Falco could just have some of Wolf's moves. You can't replace Falco anyways. He's Fox's totally tsundre best friend, his partner in saving the universe, a nearly memetic badass, a majestic beautiful bird-man, a fan favorite, and a Smash veteran. That'd be a sin and you know it and I know it, and if you thought otherwise then how could you.

Now if you made an assist trophy out of Slippy in an Arwing being chased by Star Wolf then that'd be a hilarious way to implement him in

I... do agree with all of your points here. Its just frustrating; I think Wolf would be a better playable candidate than Falco, but Falco's been around much longer and in more games. I do feel that either Wolf OR Falco should be replaced by Krystal. Krystal would be able to have a completely unique moveset, she'd be one of the rare magic users in the game, she'd be the only staff wielder, and she'd be a new playable female character.

I just thing that Wolf is more unique than Falco and we do need villain characters, too. Its really a tough call; Star Fox isn't relevant enough to get four playable characters, despite Fox having appeared in every game to date and Falco in the last two.

If it were up to me I'd pull the WFT compromise and just make Falco an alternate model for Fox. Given how functionally similar they are I don't think I don't really see a problem with making them share a slot, even though I'll wager people will find some way to be annoyed about it.

^ Actually, I think that'd work excellently. Falco's always played about the same as Fox anyway and they look very similar, so that'd be a great way to keep Falco but not make him take up a slot, which can be used instead for Krystal and Wolf, both of whom are better off as their own character and are (would be in the case of Krystal) far more unique than Falco.

Of course, that's assuming they want to have completely different characters as alternate skins. At least the male Wii Fit Trainer is still the Wii Fit Trainer.

Falco sharing a spot with Fox is a bit different than an identical character being a skin. I doubt this would have any effect on the final number of playable characters either.

or they could just make falco more unique

Bu- But, Falco's Reflector requires timing! Totally different, right?!

I'd rather have falco getting new moves. But I like falco better than wolf but wolf is not really a clone, but wolf is not interesting to play as.

Is it just me or was marth's reveal was boring? When I saw the reveal, I just said "oh cool he's back" even Toon link's return felt more exciting.

Olimar: Yes!

Luigi: expected but Double YES!

Peach: YES

Toon link: great!

Sonic: YEEEEEESSSSSSS!

Marth: cool.

Who main marth?

I remember jumping a bit when Marth was revealed, but that's only because there was a month of nothing but screens of the characters standing around, and was expecting more of the same that day.

I tend to main Marth quite a bit. When I'm not playing as Sonic in Brawl I main Marth.

I don't really know why people would get too excited over Peach and Luigi though. For them it was just "oh, they're back. Like I never expected THAT to happen." [/sarcasm]

Toon Link? Darth Vader Narm.

Captain Olimar? "Oh... ok."

Sonic was the only one I was truly impressed by. Other than Sonic, I was happy to see Luigi and Marth confirmed, but I didn't think that any of them were really taken any better or worse than Marth was. Sonic and Toon Link are really the only ones who did that, and Toon Link largely had mixed reactions on here.

Looks like Toon Link's experimenting in arcane arts. His Fsmash didn't produce a streak of dark energy like that in Brawl.

Sakurai better explain this. that dark light cannot be from toon link.

EDIT: So the red black effect shows from strong blows and only if your at high damage. wow, can't wait to see it in motion. time for bed
