I know Sakurai ruled out DLC characters but i wonder whats his stance on DLC costumes/skins for SSB4?

I think he'd feel the same way.

Best character: toon link

Worst character: jigglypuff

Seriously. I own so hard with toon link that I had to find a second main character which became pit. Lucas is my third character. He us OP as fuck sometimes. Up smash. Game over.

Jigglypuff, I could never get use to her style. Even in melee. I hated playing with her.

Edit: out of boredom, What's your best and worst character?

Mine - Best:  Kirby Worst: Marth

My Best: Yoshi

My Worst: Link

I've been using Yoshi for years in every entry in Smash. I've always gotten use to his strengths and flaws and came out with a lot of wins here and there. Not only is he my favorite character, but I also consider him very fun to play.

As for Link, no matter how many times I've tried using him, I can't do jack to save my ass.

In the middle, I've often use Kirby, Lucario, Sonic, Mr. Game and Watch and Diddy kong. Dr. Mario and Mewtwo in Melee.

I highly doubt Kirby's roster will change. :U  The only applicable addition would be Bandana-Dee, and even then, he's still kinda the franchise's Toad, so odds are he won't get in before other, more deserving characters.

Besides, King DeDeDe, like all Kirby characters, is extremely lovable, memorable, and unique, and I'd be mad to see him gone especially since he's practically Wario with a hammer and cape.

I'd really like to see fewer new franchises (besides Golden Sun >:U) and more balancing of what we have.  Pretty much every big-name Nintendo series has been represented, and some of the smaller ones, too, but a lot of them are very sparse.  It's easy to understand why franchises like Pikmin and Metroid are underrepresented; Pikmin's characters are all very similar, and Metroid has few memorable characters who aren't big enough to eat you in a single bite (Ridley, Metroid Prime, Kraid), aren't completely immobile (Mother Brain), or aren't sure to be clonified in the Smashification process (Dark Samus).

That said, I still think Pikmin and Metroid deserve more representation; as does Fire Emblem.  All three are (Other M's reception notwithstanding) very relevent franchises, and Fire Emblem has no shortage of characters to draw from.  The main problem with Fire Emblem is that Sakurai can't seem to look past the Lord-class.  Smash needs more speedy humans, so I think a character like Gaius or Lon'qu would be cool as a third choice.  Gaius could even use a dagger and bow, instead of joining the Fire Emblem Swordsman Club.  As a fourth rep, I suggest another Lord (or other main character) from an older game that doesn't use a sword; Micaiah (sp?) would be great to replace Ike, with her Light Magic, Ephraim with his spear, or Hector (!) with his Axe.

Pikmin has much harder spots to fill.  I don't think you could pull off three or four Pikmin characters respectably, so I'd say have Alph or Brittany with Rock and Flying Pikmin-based attacks and call it a day.

Then there's Metroid, which has been criminally underrepresented since Melee.  My personal picks would be Dark Samus (as a Wolf to Samus's Fox, with similar but different attacks, but an inverse; Dark Samus would be lighter and much faster than regular Samus) and Ridley (as a huge, hulking brute with great airspeed and recovery but shitty attack speed and awful ground speed), but everyone has their own opinions on the franchise, so there's plenty of room for other suggestions; I've even seen people want that black guy from Other M, but I couldn't really care less for this supposed long-time friend of our heroine that she's managed to not mention once.

All in all, while Nintendo has plenty of smaller franchises and series, I think that they should make themselves known in the form of stages and items rather than as playable characters.  Hell, I'd even settle for a Golden Sun stage if Isaac isn't able to make it in.

Oh, uh, and in vBrawl, I generally use Toon Link or DeDeDe.  I dunno who my worst character is.

In Project M I main Wario.

My best is probably Ganon because he's very fun for me to use. I love playing as him with his extremely strong attacks. Worst? I have no idea.

I don't like how the item selection screens mesh all containers into one slot. It's stupid. What if I don't like crates with wheels or barrels? Maybe I don't want to use capsules? Why can't I make all of the containers heavy crates to piss off my friends?

My best character is a tie between Marth and Toon Link, and my worst is Olimar, in terms of hackless brawl.

I feel like Sonic is my best character. I spent a lot of time and effort memorizing all the variations to his spin dashes and fake out game, and more importantly, have a very fun time going through all the different motions.

Friends tell me my best character is Luigi though, but that's probably the repeated Shoryukens talking.

Pick a top/high tier character that's not Wario or Dedede and he/she will be one of my worst characters. I can't for the life of me play them and enjoy it, so I just ignore them and learn how to fight against them instead.

Im just the same as you on Sonic, hes not the best character at all, but since hes my fave I memorized all his combos, moves, and while it may still be "low tier" I made it work fine. My second would probably be Kirby, but close in there is Marth too.

Best: Tied with Luigi and Ice Climbers (Seriously, you can wreck shit up with them)

Worst: Any slow character (I cannot play as Ike for the life of me)

Since Brawl's the one I have the most experience with, I'll share my bests:
Kirby, Sonic, Mario, Samus. I'm okay with every character if I put effort into using them.

Based on what I've seen, Sonic isn't considered nearly as low tier now than what he was early on. He's still low, but he's not like in the bottom rung or anything. He's actually in the D racket right now... whereas Mario, Link, and Ganondorf are in literally the bottom tier (F): http://www.ssbwiki.com/List_of_SSBB_tier_lists_%28NTSC%29

Funny. My best character is kirby and my second best is sonic.

Kirby, Sonic, Peach, Luigi and Bowser are my five main

Heres some reasons why I main these characters.

Bowser: This guy is really good if you know how to use, well for every character really. I think one of the most important part for being him is to dodge, he's really big and can get hit easy being in close combat. The slowness and the amount of recovery he does when performing moves makes him a sitting duck, especially when someone dodges his moves. My hopes for bowser is to keep his strength, he's way faster from before and I have a feeling they'll weaken him a bit. Also, change his Side Special, it's a dumb/funny/frustrating move. I only use for laughs.

Luigi: I wish Luigi would be my main, Luigi is my favorite mario character but for brawl he is still good. His recovery jump is pretty bad, it's bad when coming back sideways but he shoots straight up and hardly moves, Thats what mostly kill me. Most of his moves is about perfect timing. Timing his side special, is Up special. His side smash attack is pretty powerful too, I can get good quick kills off of that move. And his basic attacks are good for building up damage. My hopes are is to get like two new Good moves that suits his personality abit more, because I think most moves are some weird dance moves.

Peach: My favorite thing about peach is the hover that she can do, I take big advantage with that ability and has saved me alot. Her recovery is good but sometimes it feels like she has to be right next to the edge to get her to grab it. She is great for building up damage with her bitch slaps, her air attacks, especially her Foward air attack when she attacks with her crown, pretty powerful but timing is key, but it's pretty easy to get it right with some characters. Her side smash attack is pretty good too, She uses a pan, tennis racket and a golf club. The golf club is the strongest and sends them flying, the pan being second strongest and hits them upwards, and the tennis racket sends them forward like they are an actual tennis ball. And I wonder why her ass is so powerful! that move is really good. My hopes for her is too get rid off the toad move, it can be replace with a better move like..............I don't know yet but I know that move can be replaced.

Sonic: Sonic's the name, speeds his game! His speed is the main reason why he my second best, most times when things get to hectic it's easy to get out of situations, his moves are fast and his moves can do a good combo, mostly talking about the spindash. Some players gets annoyed of him because you'll be hearing the spindash noise a bunch of times and most of his moves are spindashing. His moves are too weak, and its sometimes hard to get someone out because it feels like you have to  do a perfect run of constantly running and hitting, running and hitting without taking heavy damage, it's easy to get off guard with sonic, my bro mains Ike and I happen to get caught with his almighty Side smash attack and then i'm dead. He has a good moveset but most of them are too weak, I'd say his best moves are his UP special, Backward air and side smash attack. Those pack a decent amount of damage. his Up special springs you really high, highest recovery jump in the game! Whenever I'm getting smashed around I always spring back into action, it's hard to get sonic out if he can come back that easily, so recovery has never been a problem for me when using sonic. My hopes for him is to replace one of the spindash move with a color power and make his moves stronger.

Kirby:Kirby is my main because, he great  for building damage, finishing off opponents, and recoverying. Building damage with kirby is always a joy. His air attacks work well especially his backward air attack, I mostly use it when I try to finsh off someone when they are trying to comeback. His hammer is pretty strong and packs a punch, I love it that he gives two swings when in air and that it deals more damage when doing it on ground. His UP special is good for edge guarding, it almost like a meteor smash since it sends you down pretty fast. But it's easy to die trying to edge guarding when using that move, kirby can easily loose when fighting tograb the edge, because I happens a few times were I would just fall through the character when they reach the edge first. But luckily he has multiple jumps so I only use the UP special whenever I need it for recovering. I mostly use it for dealing damage. My hopes for kirby is nothing really, just change his final smash then I'd be good.

These characters are great because I can beat any character with ease, I'd say the toughest characters would be Fox and falco, When people main them, they are incredibly good, CPU are the worst when they are level 9 and the whole "Cpu ignore other Cpu and fight off human player" gets annoying with fox and falco, but it doesn't stop my main Five! Sometimes....

Worst: Marth, least interesting character in the game and i'm pretty bad at using him. I average almost all characters and have like 4 or 5 who just not good and marth makes it my worst character. his playstyle does not fit on how I play. Jigglypuff, snake, and ganondorf are better than him. his air attacks are pretty strong i'd say that's one of the few good things about him. but I don't know how to explain it but he just doesn't fit my style. My hopes is just make him a better moveset that I can play with, don't really have any specific hopes, he's not an interesting character, his reveal was not exciting, but cool to see return I guess.

Honestly I disagree with that list. Toon Link should be at least B tier. He's amazing. Fast and can do so much more stuff than his counter part. Sucks that Shiek is considered a joke now, when she was BOSS in Melee. They nerfed the shit out of her. I'm still trying to figure out how Wario is B tier. Personally, he's not that great. If anything, he's a boring character who has really odd moves. And how did Jigglypuff drop so hard in Brawl, when she was top tier in Melee? Nintendo really fucked this roster up. I wonder who will be considered amazing now. Will MetaKnight still be KING of Smash bros? Or will he get nerfed like Jiggles. And I could have sworn Zelda was better than crap tier. I always get stuck in her combos no matter what I do.

Anyways, am I the only one who hates MetaKnight?

Well, that can't be good for Sonic.

The Homing Attack did make contact, but Bowser didn't flinch. Maybe his Usmash gives him super armor now?

EDIT:

Or maybe Sakurai just hates Sonic.

That wasn't very nice. :3

It's basically political cartoon, Sonic thought he was gonna come in and turn the tables on Mario for once with his bright and shiny new game while Mario's left everyone feeling a bit apathetic.

Then suddenly Sonic gets some Koopa spikes up his ass, that's the punchline Sakurai was going for right?

Judging by the fact that there's a hit graphic, I'm guessing it is armour on the Bowser USmash (or maybe even his crouch?).  If so, it's about time.  Bowser's so huge he really needs it.

My best is Peach and Sonic, it used to be Samus but she feels nerfed since melee to me.

My worst, are quite a few actually, R.O.B, Olimar, Ganondorf & DeDeDe.

My best characters in are Pikachu, Wolf and MetaKnight. It used to be Yoshi, but he's dropped down to worst because I didn't really like the changes to him in Brawl.

I really hope Wolf comes back, but I'm doubtful. Ah well, I'll always have Pikachu. XP

In terms if new Metroid reps... What about Trace or Weavil(?) from Prime Hunters? I know they're both pretty specialised, but I could see them at least playing different to other cast members.

Trace relying on becoming invisible and sniping, and Weavil splitting in half to melee enemies.

Also, why is it Geno keeps showing up in character polls? He's just a puppet, isn't he? Doesn't look particularly interesting to me.

I would main Weavel instantly. I always played as him in Prime Hunters' multiplayer.

Personally, he's (Wario) not that great. If anything, he's a boring character who has really odd moves.

Odd moves maybe, but boring no way. He has amazingly versatile, if short ranged normal moves and a completely ridicullous amount of air mobility/recovery if you save the bike and the fart, which doubles as a great KO move too. Wario rules

I don't know really. Are those characters even used outside of Hunters? It's been a long time since the DS's launch and it seems bizarre to me to add them now.
