Hello new favorite Pokemon.

Now I'm even MORE hype to see what the starters evolve into.

About time they realeased the types of the Legendaries, and I'm especially glad that Yveltal isn't another damn dragon. Also pancham's evo and the squid look absolutely sick!

Yeah, as much as I like Dragon-types, I'm glad we're finally getting some non-Dragons for Legendaries after being bombarded with some from Gens 4 and 5.

Though given what Xerneas and Yevetal are based on, I get the feeling the third legie will be more akin to being a snake/serpent Pokémon thus it possibly being Dragon.

Also, the panda evo is indeed kickass, makes me want to have one on my team now. The creepy bird looks alright too, I guess.

Pancham evolves by having a Dark type in your party and the squid evolves by turning your 3DS around according to that insider.

I hope it's this and not the bamboo stick thingie

Oh wow, the Panda actually evolved into a bancho. Now if the rumors are right, there will be a Yakuza motor engine Pokemon.

Okay Pancham is still lame but holy shit he has a really cool evolution. It seems to be more in line with what I originally expected of a Dark/Fighting type than Scrafty was (though Scrafty grew on me quickly and is very cool still), only it's a panda!

Everything else is kinda eh to me. There seems to be a lot of things that are just little blob things, particularly with all the pure Fairy types running around. I hope there are more interesting dual type fairies and that they don't just say "oh here you go your old Pokemon are dual type fairies while the new stuff is mainly pure type".

The Dark/Psychic squid seems interesting, but I'm not sure how much I like it despite the new and cool typing.

The new team seems pretty okay, fabulous as expected. Some of the character designs are getting really dumb though, like that guy with the giant white glasses and the Electivire things coming out of him. This guy and the rivals just aren't well designed to me. What I assume is the new professor looks cool though, nice to see a guy who's not just an old man for a change, even though I was expecting another female.

I feel like in some ways Gen 6 is trying too had to be "quirky and fabulous" just because the region is set in not-France with some of the filler Pokemon appearances and the character designs. If they had dialed it down a bit the bad stuff would look much better. However, when they make a cool Pokemon or character, they do it really well.

I don't want to sound like I'm disliking Gen 6 because I love Gen 5 or some shit like that, I'm still really excited, but there are just a few things that bug me.

Bet Gen VI's theme is one of the cyclic nature of life and death or destruction and resurrection considering that Xerneas and Yveltal are the Life and Destruction Pokemon respectively. Though how the 'evil team's' money-motivation plays into the legendaries if it does at all is intriguing.

The more that is revealed about the Fairy type, the more I like it ha! The cotton candy poodle is so adorable.

EDIT: My money is on the third legendary being based off-of Ourobros, suiting the genetic theme and the presumed cyclic-theme (X, Y, O - Ouroburos is always biting it's tail, hence the O)

I actually like all of the new human character designs here. I've always wanted some kind of super-super nerd Gym Leader (is that what he is) like the robot arms guy, and the professor looks like a pretty chill dude. I love the idea of a purely profit-motivated evil team, too, and they look totally fabulous. Still not as charming as Galactic's dumb space suits, but considerably better than Team Plasma.

My favourite's that... guy? Girl? Girl, I guess... the rock climber with the goofy rock hair, who I assume is also a Gym Leader. S/he's got a good mix of simple and ridiculous goin' on, and that's a pretty good gimmick for a rock-type specialist, too. Plus, hey, we're probably finally getting a rock-type Gym Leader who isn't the first one you fight~!

Pancham's evo is pretty cool, but not really my thing. I've been wanting a squid for a while, and even though I'm not totally keen on the design of the second stage yet, I do like that there's finally a Dark/Psychic type, and I appreciate the continuation of Gen V's trend of not making everything that dwells in water a Water-type. The two fairies remind me almost exactly of Petilil and Cottonee. I expect their evolutions to be more interesting.

I've been hoping we'd get to see a few more relatives of classic Pokemon, but I guess there's a precedent for not revealing those too early. As I recall, most of Gen IV's ten thousand new evolutions weren't discovered until Diamond and Pearl were released.

I didn't say it'd be useful, just that it's kind of neat.

...I always thought Kadabra should've gotten a physical-oriented Dark/Psychic alternate evolution that used forks.

Omigawdomigwd an aquatic-based Pokemon that's not Water and is Dark/Psychic type holy hell yes (can probably still learn Water-type attacks I reckon, since, you know, it's all squid-like)

Pancham's evolution looks badASS.

A breakdancing Gym Leader? Yes.

An evil team that's just in it for the havoc and MILLIONS OF DOLLAS? AND wear snazzy outfits? Zing.

Xerneas is Fairy-type.....cool beans; and yet I feel it can also be Steel-type....

I'm just taking in this information now so I'm all giddy. Too bad I'm in a library right now.

So apparently the Professor guy in the scans is named Purataanu and will be the first region professor ever that you can legitimately battle, likely on multiple occasions at that <3333

This new information sounds so amazing, I really want to look at the scans but I feel I've spoiled too much already so I'm gonna avoid actually seeing everything until I actually play it from now on.

I just can't seem to resist actually coming in this thread ;(

I lasted a month, and only came because of Pancham's evo. You can do it too.

So that means he's obviously secretly the bad guy.

English footage of all the new Pokes:

Also English names. Goronda is Pangoro, Maika is Inkay, Karamanero is Malamar, Peroppafu is Swirlix, and Shushup is Spritzee. The Professor is Sycamore and Team Flare will retain their name. The two gym leaders are named Grant and Clemont. Edited by CC14 the Vipester

I'm really liking how they are laying the site out with the characters and the Pokemon especially. All the flavour text laid out like this adds character to the Pokemon, even if they're just gonna end up as Pokedex entries, like how Pangoro is actually kind hearted (Dark is not evil indeed), and how Malamar has people trying to use it for their own ends all the time. It's making me like the bad stuff more, once the initial impression has worn off and I get used to it.

Malamar has really grown on me as well. It's creepy looking as shit which makes it awesome.

I'm keen to see what evolutions and types the starters get. This will determine which starter I pick initially, though no doubt I'll do at least 3 playthroughs to use everything and some of the new Pokemon and any decent older stuff that returns but I've never used (or if Gallade is in this game, him too).

God damn it why do all the Pokemon I like in every generation have overlapping types? (Fighting, Water, or Dark mainly)

Yeah. I have kind of a compulsion about not repeating types on my teams (including a hypothetical "ideal" team that changes about twice a day), but a lot of my favourites overlap types in just the right way to irritate the hell out of me. I tend to like Normal- and Electric-types in particular, and of course secondary Flying-type is dirt common.

Something about getting all of those cute descriptions and the English names is really endearing me to this new stuff, even when I wasn't crazy about it at first. Malamar's gone from awkward-looking to actually pretty cool, and I'm seriously thinking that I might go with X just because Swirlix is so adorable.

So I guess Grant actually is a guy? whatever man he's still pretty

And I assume Clemont's specialty is Electric based on his Elesa-lookin' Tron gym, but I guess it could also be Steel?

Professor Sycamore just sounds weird to me, I'd have preferred Professor Willow or Professor Fern.

If that PokeBeach rumor is true and Mewtwo does have a second more Mew-like form, I wonder if it'll be featured in the movie, and if not, we might see it in CoroCoro's Scoop of the Century issue next month
