All-Stars Racing Transformed: The Track Roster Thread

I wonder if this Starlight Carnival will have auto rinning/driving.

So 90% of the race isn't even driving, it's just holding on as you're led through the carnival itself?

Seaside Hill is returning, and it's a new track? The Samba De Amigo track is a "new" track too? I'm happy about the After Burner track and the Starlight Carnival track, but when SEGA and Sumo Digital say we're getting 16 new tracks and 4 returning stages, I don't expect more returning stages to slip into the new tracks.

I'm sure I'll enjoy these remade tracks, but I'm just disappointed after getting my hopes up for new tracks given what we were told. That, and we've had FAR FAR FAR too much Seaside Hill already.

EDIT:

After more research, the Samba De Amigo track is all-new, and not a remake. Cool!

What better way to represent the original? :P

I'd kill to see some Wisps flying around the stage.

As long as we don't get a returning Billy Hatcher stage and a new Billy Hatcher stage, I'm cool with some doubling up. Samba de Amigo and JSR are incredibly cool looking IPs, and so I'm more than happy having two tracks of each. Death Egg was an awesome track, so I'm looking forward to it returning.

That reminds me, think we gonna have to outmaneuver the Nega Wisp Armor and/or mind control lasers at some point?

After Burner and outrun tracks make me so happy, and give me hope for other classic Sega arcade themed tracks like Space Harrier, Fantasy Zone etc.

With OutRun and After Burner confirmed, I now REALLY want Ryo Hazuki to return. I mean, those were highlights of Shenmue! And since a Shenmue track probably ain't gonna happen, those would be the best next thing. I know this is more suited for the racer thread, but I'd love to see Ryo in the OutRun car, a Space Harrier boat and an After Burner jet. Call it the AM2 Carcade or something goofy.

Seaside Hill strikes again, boy they must really love that stage to include it in so many games now.

Starlight Carnival, I've been waiting for you.biggrin.png

can I start my new round of speculations? :P

we have 15 tracks out of 21 revealed. We know that 4 tracks will be from the last game, and we have Sunshine Tour, Egg Hangar and Graffiti City to fulfill these slots.

So we have 1 returning and 5 new ones yet to be revealed.

For the returning one I bet on the Billy Hatcher's snow one, and for the other ones I expect:

- Another Sonic one (possibly a SA2 one)

- Space Channel 5

- A new House of the Dead

- Phantasy Star Online

- Shinobi (the one leaked)

no one mentioned arenas though...I'd like to see

Sonic (Casino themed)

Super Monkey Ball

Puyo Puyo

Shenmue (Yokozuka Harbour)

Space Harrier

Don't forget that multi-IP S0L said was in the game. People ignore that.

But yeah, a lot of signs point to Icicle Valley or Rampart Road being the last retro track.

Sonic may or may not get a new track. the Colors stage seems to fill the ones Seaside Hill doesn't cover nicely though(amusement, Eggman base). We may not see a SC5, cause Starlight Carnival seems to have that theme covered.

I'd love anything from Ristar. The character, a track, either one. I wouldn't bother me if he isn't in this new one but would it rule if he was.

I'm loving this game the more I see from it. Steve and the Sumo team, you guys rule.

Woah...

Let's be clear, when we talk about returning tracks, we're talking about Classic tracks from ASR that are returning, of which there are 4.

The 16 new tracks are brand new track designs, but that doesn't mean we're not going to reference any classic games we've included in the past.

So don't get carried away expecting no other 'returning' ones as there could well be a couple tongue.png

S0L

I guess that points to the likely return of both a Billy Hatcher and a House of the Dead theme, seeing as JSR, Samba De Amigo and Super Monkey Ball are already in there. Well, unless more from Heroes is revamped, but I hope not.

"Oh I do like to be beside the Seaside... Hill

Oh I do like to be beside the Seeeaaaa!

Oh I do like to drive along prom prom prom

Where the Sonic fans play

Tiddely-om-pom-pom!

So just let me be beside the seaside.... Hill.

I'll be beside myself with glee

And there's lots rings beside,

I should like to be beside

Beside the seaside... Hill!

Beside the sea!"

Based on what S0L's said with regards to Seaside Hill. It sounds like it's a very safe stage and a stage thats you can do most of the basic and some advanced moves on. After all it was created by the sounds of it as a test level, and S0L's also said that it's got driving, sailing and flying on it and if this line is anything to go by "The prototype track was pretty much finished.." It's more than likely going to be a kind of safe level/course that can show a player what the game can do and teach them what they need to know without throwing them into the deep end. Imagine if Eggmanland was in it and it was the first course of the game, it'd be brutal and probably put a lot of people off playing.

thanks for your statement SOL, but I quite don't understand. There's some misinformation about this

some time ago some of you told us about Shibuya Downtown returning...is that stage incorporated in the new Graffiti City or it is a standalone track?

Sunshine Tour was also said to be returning, and now you have announced Samba Studios... does it make 2 separate Samba the Amigo tracks?

so the matter is: 2 Jet Set Radio and 2 Samba the Amigo tracks, or just aspect from previous tracks implemented in the new environments?

with this in mind, I think Seaside Hill is one of the formally called "returning stages" (despite beeing entirely new in concept)

15 allready? So there are still 5 new ones to be revealed huh (minus the returning one). I hope they wont dissapoint. Knowing that theres only so little yet to be revealed and likely to have reused IPs among them worries me. I hope not more spaces are gonna get wasted. Seaside hill once again causes lost opportunities when its been reused a thousand times and with how great they could have brought 2d sonic stages to life in 3d for the first time. A great challenge but it would've been well worth it. Hydrocity would have been beautiful.

wait a sec, the thing I said about 15 tracks reveled is far from beeing confirmed. I have counted Sunshine Tour and Shibuya Downtown (they told us they were returning) as standalone tracks, with Samba Studios and Graffiti City beeing new.

We have to wait for a confirmation about this. It could also mean that Sunshine Tour and Shinuya Downtown are implemented in the new tracks, so that would mean 13 Tracks revealed so far

So... in the first case we could have

Returnings (4)

Sunshine Tours

Shibuya Downtown

Egg Hangar

Ocean View (Seaside Hill)

New ones (16)

Temple Trouble

Dragon Canyon

Adder's Lair

Dream Valley

*leaked Shinobi track

Outrun Bay

Galactic Parade

Carrier Zone

Samba Studio

Rouges Landing

???

???

???

???

???

???

in the latter case we'd have:

returning (4)

Samba Studio

Graffiti City

Ocean View

Egg Hangar

for the new ones would be like before minus Samba Studio and Graffiti City

EDIT: I need an official clarification, or else my mind will explode in a minute :P

-Seaside Hill

-Super Monkey Ball

-Panzer Dragoon

-Jet Set Radio

-Golden Axe

-Afterburner

-Skies of Arcadia

-Starlight Carnival

-NiGHTS

-Multi-IP track

That's all I can think of, so that's 6 more tracks, unless I missed something.

Nah, the JSR, Seaside hill, and Samba track in the trailer are new. Sunshine Tour and Shibuya are coming back unaltered. JSR and SDA are getting 2 tracks, Sonic 3(so far) counting Death Egg.

It's been explained a few times now why it was brought back.

Geez the whole W"HY IS SEASIDE HILL BACK?!"is starting to turn into the "WHY IS SONIC IN A CAR?!" thing.:P

I bet they have recreated Seaside Hill from the scratch, and we will see a beautiful level, a la Generations style. When you think about it, Seaside Hill is the most beautiful sonic tropical/water/beach stage that incorporates Sonic layouts characteristics like the square shaped rocks and breath taking loops the loops, as well as Whales that bring back to Emerald Coast. As a lot of you say, the modern Green Hill
