Good old animal-themed badniks. I've missed them since the Egg Pawns started appearing in anything, so I'm happy to see episode 2 will be continuing with them.

So Robotnik is dishing out boars and seals.

What's next? Walrus? Elephants? Show us more Sega!

It would be funny if these concepts never get used in-game. :P

Well the first badnik confirmed there likely would be a water level, since it's design is based off of an (extinct) sea dwelling creature.

...Actually, I wonder if that first piece of concept art isn't just like that one badnik from Sonic 1 (Yardin I believe) like many predicted, but maybe a new underwater badnik? That way, it would function uniquely as you could only hit it's front, yes, but it'd be swimming under the water.

The two new Badniks look friggin' AWESOME! They both have very original designs and fit in perfectly amongst the other classic Badniks. I can't wait to see them in an actual level. These designs are too cool!

Also, Steelion is the coolest name EVER.

I admit, those new badniks looks pretty good.

I'm still waiting on that gameplay footage, though.

They look like classic badniks expect... you know, better drawn.

They're far more detailed than Classic Badniks. But they've got character, ala Colours/Generations redesigns, unlike the S4E1 ones.

Wait a minute. We've got a walrus, and we've got a pig/boar thing... I wonder if there will be Sonic 2 Game Gear references? It's a lot to ask for, but that would be pretty sweet, would be more interesting than seeing normal Sonic 2 yet again.

I think one of the things that makes Eggman's Badniks so great is how useless looking they are. What kind of person designs their robots based on cute little animals? They never really look like they're capable of anything bad- but they're trying!

I mean this enemy is obviously going to charge at you like a boar might, but its nose sticks out so far it couldn't possibly hit you with its tusks. D:

Well glad we can kill the bawwwwww rehashed badniks talk now

These things look pretty badass! Based on that boar I wonder if we're finally getting a western zone?

Haha, it's funny seeing three people in a row post the same thing. tongue.png

I like Fullboar and Steelion. Simple but nice designs and more original than what we've seen from Eggman's army as of late. I know I've been playing too much World of Warcraft when I see Fullboar and my first thought is those undead boars from Razorfen ... Downs? Crawl? I can never remember which. huh.png

Not necessarily. The other two hermit crabs were in a Casino stag and a fire stage respectively.

Look like it belongs in a jungle to me. You know, like Rhinobot. But Badniks can go anywhere really. Like, we have a crab, starfish and mantis in Mad Gear and Metropolis.

Hey look, it's Rotor!

I mean.. hey look, it's Dewgong!

I mean... hey look, it's the guy who wrote "Kiss from a Rose!"

I mean... hey look, more possible evidence of a ice level! biggrin.png I really hope it's a frozen landscape strewn with frosty ruins, but at this point, seeing brand new badniks, not to mention ones that look this good, is just refreshing. Hell, I even like the little boar thing. These are probably the most original badniks since Sonic Adventure. I really hope the rest of the game is just as original, whether it be the level motifs, the badniks, or the bosses. 'cause this episode better be a freakin' love letter to everyone who took issue with the first one.

Sega has proved to us they are not retarded anymore.

They are going to give the fans what they want to the most part for episode 2.

I dont know why people are still so concerned.

They've proven they can make some original badniks. They still haven't proven that the actual game won't be shit.

Perhaps but the coloring seems more like it would fit in a Western-type zone. I can't really picture it in a jungle, to be honest; unlike, rhinobot which seems more at home there.

As for Steelion, I really think he'll be in an icy/water zone. Frozen Aquatic Ruin could be cool...

I wouldn't say anything until we see gameplay proving everything has been improved.

They've proven that we're getting original badniks. They've got plenty more to prove.

When we see some gameplay and level design of a zone, that's when we'll know if they listened or not.

He's all red/yellow and tribal coloured. He looks like he belongs in a jungle, dammit! He could fit in a western desert too though.
