Can't believe I would ever say this but Rouge is now legitimately sexy. HOT DAMN.

I hereby dub Rouges new technique the "Booby Barrage".

Yes I know that was just bad, I'll shut up now.

Well, Classic Eggman seems to be angry at Modern Eggman at the end even saying that he will avoid doing that Time Eater plan in the future.

..doesn't that in the end create a paradox in which cancels out Generations in the timeline?

Very tongue-in-cheek way of managing this game and all the potential problems it may have caused. This also would mean this is the second anniversary game in a row to just erase everything. :V

Speaking of Rouge, I have to wonder if she and Knux are an item now. They seemed to be getting along really well in the intro.

I don't think Generations is undone at all. Rather, Classic Eggman forgetting that the plan fails is needed for the plot work.

It works like this:

- Classic Eggman forgets the plan failed

- Because of this, he'll still launch the plan when he's older as Modern Eggman

- This he creates a stable loop

The game would be undone if Classic Eggman remembered the plan and consciously avoided implementing it, I think. It's probably a subtle joke about why Classic Eggman is still going to go through with this scheme even if he knows it'll fail.

I suppose. In reality, I'm a bit bothered by the fact that the series has now become incredibly self-aware due to the storyline, and now Sonic will most likely remember everything, thus making the whole current canon of Sonic kind of... enstranged, you know what I mean? Unless Sonic, like you say about classic Eggman, just forgets about all of this somehow. Although, I find that it should be hard to forget tampering with time and space and meeting your previous self as well as all your friends before you knew them and etcetera.

They seriously should've done something about that at the end of the game. Even mentioning something as simple as that "time had folded all back into place, everyone from every time period had slowly forgotten of what happened due to such events". But without something like that, it leaves the whole thing about the continuity in a weird bind.

@Mechano

That's how I figured it would work.

Still confused about the whole Silver-Blaze-Cream relationship, though. I'm kind of glad they didn't interact in this game, it could have opened up a can of worms not meant for this adventure.

EDIT:

Then there's Classic Sonic and Classic Tails... do they just forget?

You're right in that Silver does not directly interact with Blaze, though there is a bit of a subtle nod to his past with her when he lines up with Blaze and Cream before the Time Eater fight. Perhaps Blaze and Silver still instinctively sense something familiar about each other, unless that was simply an cute Easter egg for the fans to appreciate on a meta level.

That's what I was pondering all throughout my last post.

It seems from Colors DS that Blaze and Silver got along well and quick.

I just have a quesiton. Is there a cutscene where Classic Sonic meets Classic Tails ? Or does Classic Tails pop out of nowhere ?

EDIT: Also, Classic characters seem to be a few years younger than Modern characters. Modern Sonic remembered perfectly the events of SA2 in Black Knight but he only finds Green Hill "familiar" in Gen. Plus Classic Sonic learnt his moves from Modern Sonic, so I doubt he'd just forget everything either.

There's no cutscene, but when you play as C. Sonic in the hub early on, C. Tails is in Green Hill Zone. He and Sonic know each-other already.

My guess is that before the Time Eater attacked, Sonic was probably just taking another romp through South Island for kicks. Either that, or Sonic 2 GG is canonical and happens before the Genesis version and Sonic CD (since he doesn't know Amy or Knuckles, apparently), where he not only already knows Tails, but there's also a Green Hill level. Hence him running around in Green Hill Zone. It's... it's a stretch,

Or the writers didn't think about it that much. Eh.

EDIT: There's also the fact that C. Robotnik has an established hatred for Sonic, implying that he's done something to really cheese him off. I know that according to the Japanese canon, Sonic and Robotnik had been going at it since before Sonic 1, but... eh. Whatever.

Yeah, Sonic Team and DIMPS seem to be attempting to solve the issues stemming from Blaze's conflicting origins, but just doing it very subtly and gradually.

It seems they just forgot, I mean Sonic and Tails seem so oblivious to the first few stages. Just rings deja-vu with them, but they don't actually seem to remember that far back on a personal level.

That song list....

Does it have "???" texts for songs that are not unlocked yet, or will the songs take their appropriate place upon being unlocked?

And Egg Pawns are programmed to feel love? Sounds like somebody is a lonely scientist...

Another thing that I have to mention is that in the ending, when Sonic and Tails go back to the past, they go back to GREEN HILL, which means that Tails should recognize GHZ when they first come across it in this game.

In the Collection Room, they were listed in a certain order and had "???" for songs that weren't unlocked yet.

But that's in the Collection Room. I want confirmation of how the list is formatted is when swapping music while in front of the stage.

Because if the songs will take their places in the list without warning, and so I can play Diamond Dust Zone or Tropical Resort in any of the stages, OOOOOHHHHH MYYYYYY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOD.

Any predictions (perhaps confirmations) as to where Casino Night will be?

Will it be in the air as a mission gate, accessed by platforms?

Will Casino Night have its own HUB? (If so, that makes me hopeful for DLC.. but I'm not holding my breath.)
