Sonic Generations: Official Spoiler Topic

I do find it odd that all those phenomenal CG cutscenes seen in the trailers are nowhere to be found in the game...

There is at least one CG cutscene (before the title screen if you let it idle) that uses the half white/half color GHZ with Modern and Classic racing (using some music I don't recall hearing...) I know a version of this was used in the initial teaser trailer - but beyond that, nothing else... Maybe they're future unlockables?

They can't have been cheap to produce so it is bizarre they didn't include them!

So apparently insta-shield is in, you unlock it by...

Collecting all the Red Rings in Sky Sanctuary. That really surprises me, I thought Red Rings only unlocked Music and Artwork!

Although I have the game, I'd rather let the rest of the Red Ring unlocks be a surprise for myself. I made sure I saw nothing of the gameplay for Speed Highway onward (minus City Escape and a brief second of Planet Wisp) and WOW SPEED HIGHWAY. GLORIOUS.

The classic Shield disappointed me, though...and that's about the only thing that has disappointed me. At all. This game is amazing. <3

Classic shield disappointing you? As in you need to equip it as a skill? I actually like that. Only thing that's really disappointed me was the final boss. There are a few EHH missions but all in all it's a damn well made game.

No no, the fact that it's clear disappoints me (in a nitpick sort of way, not HURRRR DURRR RAGE, mind :P). Why can't you be green or blue, shield? I keep hearing that the final boss is kind of a let down, which is a little disappointing...but oh well.

Trophies and statues, apparently. Aaron Webber said that we'll get more news on it real soon.

Those sneaky bastards, I had no idea such a thing existed. xD

Is modern sonic able to use any of these shields?

To answer your question....I haven't been able to do it. But who needs a shield when you can.....

Wait for it.......

I saw this mentioned on Retro and thought I'd share it with you all.

So oddly enough, even though you can technically beat rivals before bosses, if you pay attention to the way the Emeralds are displayed on the hub and the colors of the Emeralds, you actually have the Emeralds in a set order, like so:

Boss - Rival - Boss - Rival - Boss - Rival - Boss

Now Shadow gives you the yellow Chaos Emerald. But doesn't that mean...?

...

SEGA YOU CHEEKY MONKIES.

...If there's one thing I'm thankful about the game not referencing, it's the computer room skit.

What is this statue room thing you guys are talking about?

Go into the Collection Room,

And hold the "Back" button on the Xbox controller,

Hold it for a few seconds, and you drop into a secret room,

Then enter 200 078 for your first statue

I still find this room odd. No explanation, and when you get a statue, it's no big deal, just look at it with not even a description on it. Makes me wonder if there's a collecting post-game after you obtain everything, kinda like Windwaker and the photo thing for statues.

The Casino Night DLC Stage in Sonic Generations. It seems DLC stages fill up empty spots on the map, as the Casino Night Pinball Table goes to an empty area next to the Death Egg Robot boss.

.....I have no words. Just wow......WOW. They FINALLY got it right, if not that then they have the right idea.

The Sonic pinball gains momentum the longer you roll down a slope. The pinball also bounces higher and faster when you reflect off a bumper. The way a pinball (and thus Sonic himself in 2D classic-themed gameplay) is supposed to move.

As far as I'm concerned, these are the missing ingredients to getting physics identical to the physics in the classics. This is what (classic) Sonic was missing from Sonic 4 and Generations. Someone neeeds to get this down to Sonic Team pronto. All they need to do is make Sonic move like this when he rolls and bounces, and have the level design based off of it in their next classic-themed Sonic game.

According to a few sources on the SEGA Forums, collect 5 Red Rings in Classic Planet Wisp, and BOOM. Homing Attack.

Not as speedbursting as it were in Sonic 4: Episode 1, and takes up 100 Skill Points.

Think purists will whine regardless?

Seems the "whining over an optional feature" comments back on TSSZ were justified!

"SEGA, how DARE you put a fucking green eyes Hentai Quill feature on the TRUE Sawnic1Sawnic (omitting the fact it's entirely optional in a custom skillset), you FAGGITS!?"

...yup.

Speaking of which, I hear TSSZ's been struck with malware recently. This true?
