Generations 3DS Chat - Oh look guys new rules (p.58)

Tropical Resort has made the cut, eh? I for one am happy about that. I absolutely adore Colours so to see my favourite level from it - well, second only to Planet Wisp and Aquarium Park - in the 3DS version is fine by me. Sure, it means handheld representation will be next to nothing, but Colours technically was a handheld game as well so... it's somewhat acceptable? If nothing else, assuming the Silver rival battle takes place here, it'll make some amount of sense, as he was in that version of the game. Also it means we'll be getting remixes of the Tropical Resort music. Hell to the YES.

Overall I think the stage selection for the 3DS version is okay, a couple of choices could be better - as much as I love Mushroom Hill and Emerald Coast, they're not the levels I would have picked - and I think the seventh and final level will ultimately determine whether I mostly approve of the choices or not. if we end up with Windmill Isle or Wave Ocean, I will be disappointed. Give me Night Palace from Secret Rings and I will love you forever, SEGA. Forever.

Watch them pick Sand Oasis or Wave Ocean/Dusty Desert (lol SIlver's ball puzzle) just to make us cry :V Also the only reason Casino Night Zone was the random exception is because they realized Emerald Hill was too close to Green Hill, and the HD one already took Chemical Plant. Aquatic Ruin wasn't a favorite, so what's next? Casino Night O:

I actually wouldn't mind Sand Oasis, thinking about it. We haven't got a desert-themed level in Generations at all so far, so it would work quite well as long as they didn't make it too much like Emerald Coast. Granted, it's not the level from Secret Rings I'd pick if I had the choice - indeed, if there's even going to be a Secret Rings level - but I'd much rather that than Wave Ocean or Windmill Isle, as far as modern opening stages go.

As I said before though, Night Palace would be godly. Remixes of Unawakening Float... yes please D:

Indeed. I'd want something like Pirate Storm or especially Night Palace... Though I honestly can't see them picking those levels. xD

give me skeleton dome or no deal

Also, since S3K is technically one game, Mushroom Hill is a 7th level. Don't give me any of that "They were released on two separate carts so they're two separate games" bullshit. It's one game, it's the Seventh Level of said game.

Forgot to mention that the preview says the 3DS version isn't out until February 2012. Though I'm thinking they got the release date confused with the 3DS version of Mario & Sonic at the London Olympics since that's when that comes out.

It's both, and can be looked at either way. Also, it's on "History of the First Stage: Blue Edition", while Angel Island is on the White version. So, yeah.

Other then the stuff SEGA and Nintendo have spoonfed us, This is the only version that has remains a total secret huh?

Hopefully SEGA is getting a kick out of the fact that they can still tease a version of Generations and leaving us in the dark.

Yeah it does. I would love them if the would release additional worlds, but that most likely won't happen. Maybe more missions or rarely a new level is all I think they will do. Well, if they do DLC for SG 3DS at all.

Aaaaaaaaaand, we have confirmation and a scan!

Tropical Resort looks pretty cool. I love how the improved graphical capabilties of the 3DS make it look much closer to the Wii version than the DS version. Sure, there are MUCH better stages they could've picked, but I'm happy with the stages we have and am still very much looking forward to the 3DS version. :)

Tropical Resort officially looks delicious, it really is just like the Wii version. Can't wait to hear the remixes of the music.

And colour powers! I completely forgot the possibility that a Colours stage would mean we'd see Wisps! In that case I am fully expecting Cyan Laser and Yellow Drill as those were the two most prominent powers in Tropical Resort, much like Pink Spikes and Orange Rocket were for Planet Wisp.

And let me just say, Laser + Drill combo = WAAAAAAAY cooler than Spikes + Rocket

It looks good and I guess they could make it to a cool final level, but I 'd much rather have stages from both Rushs.

Ugh, so pissed off that it's definitely in. It's a another first stage, and we already have Green Hill and Casino Night. It's too similar. If they wanted a Colours stage so badly, they should have gone with Aquarium Park, Sweet Mountain or Asteroid Coaster. There's no variation.

Not sure if I'm happy that it's in, on 1 hand it looks great and was a good opening stage in colours on the other hand, what Blue Blood said, it's too similar to casino night and it has less variation than before. Now we're not getting a stage from both rushs, only from one.

Why on that scan it says that the release is February 2012?

The level choice for the 3DS version was chosen by vote from the public and the SEGA staff, just like with the console and PC version. I would like a bit more variation too, but these were obviously popular choices among most people.

I kind of wish they didn't let the public vote on the level choices for either version and choose them themselves and go with some variety.

I bet last stage is either Sky Babylon or Kingdom Valley. Silver Battle would fit in both. Or maybe we'll fight him in TR?

Thinking about it, I think I would quite like a 2D Kingdom Valley.

Is it bad that I don't want Kingdom Valley, because of it's music? And one of the main reasons I want Sky Babylon or Pirate's Island are their music? unsure.png

I might just be really forgetful, but those firework rockets weren't in the original TR were they? If I remember correctly there were some in one of the Rivals Casino stages, so that's actually kind of cool.
