Actually, the last Katakana slide says "Metal Sonic." Not "Super Sonic."

Woops, you're right. I was comparing the names on Sonic Channel and I must've misread.

I totally overlooked this topic when I was making this post, so I'll just copy it over here:

For what it's worth, I don't think the 3DS version looks all that bad anymore. The problem, as I see it, is that it has to stack up to the console version, which of course is going to look much better and have more content. But seeing screenshots and videos of the 3DS version kind of makes me want to own it.

But then again, I'm of the group that loves the Rush games, even if many of the levels are "boost-to-win," as I consider it to be a fun experience nonetheless. Maybe the 3D will help it along.

Still not as good as the console version, but it's not like it's a steaming pile either. I don't really think Dimps is that bad; as for Sonic 4, I have the feeling that they didn't have the proper opportunity to get the gameplay right, even with a delay. Either way... seeing the classic gameplay for the 3DS, it actually looks more accurate to the Genesis games than the console version. I think Dimps is competent, they just needed time to get their act together. Or something. Whatever.

...kind of off topic, but I just wanted to chip in some of my opinions on that, since we talked about the handheld version a while back.

Don't know if this was known or not but Tropical Resort is confirmed for the 3DS version of Generations. My new Nintendo Power has screen shots and it looks exactly how it did in Sonic Colors Wii.

My guess is plant kingdom or Windmill Isle because they were listed on the soundtrack of the games. Pretty stupid argument, I know, but it sounds like it could be true to me.

History of the First Stage just had a whole bunch of music from first levels.

Plant Kingdom would be the stupidest choice ever....

PLEASE, Sky Babylon or Pirate's Island!!

inb4 maximum trollverdrive with a Rivals stage. (I would be okay with this.)

I'm guessing something from Sonic 06. Sonic's gotta fight Silver somewhere! But then again, that fight with Metal Sonic in Casino Night sure did come out of left field...

I know it had a bunch of them, but Generations 3DS is full of first stages, so why not?

I actually doubt that they bring us a rush stage after they promised us two and gave us one a Colors Stage instead (which is basically Rush 3 but still...). I dont know, I'll just wait I guess.

@Hunter: Well, Metal Sonic is in a stage he never was so silver could be in a new location as well.

HoftFS is only about first levels. That's why it had them.

They didn't promise us Rush stages, a Polish magazine said the game had levels from the Rush series. No surprise if they got Colors confused with a Rush game.

Oh, I missunderstood the information then. Oh well, I'll just wait.

I wanna see the Tropical Resort Screens pretty badly though.

He transformed into Mario just so he could compete in the London 2012 Summer Olympic Games with his modern self?!

By jove, that explains everything!

Wow, seriously? That's kinda lame. I mean, seriously, Iizuka himself said the point of the 3DS version was to cover different parts of Sonic history that were missing from the HD version. With 6 of the 7 levels being from the same games as the HD version, I just don't see that happening now. If they included the 2 Rush games, they could have at least paid homage to that portion of Sonic history...

Ah well, could be worse, and there's still one stage left to reveal. Heck, Big Arm is a boss from Sonic 3, so maybe the other 2 bosses will reference missing games?

Well this really bites. Man I wish they wouldn't neglect the Handhelds so much all the time, and always with the First stages too. From one of the previous Nintendo Power Issues, I thought for sure Starlight Carnival would make it in.

So most of the levels in the 3DS are the first levels from the console games?

That's hilariously disappointing. Wow.

Green Hill- first level

Casino Night- random exception

Mushroom Hill- first level

Emerald Coast- first level

Radical Highway- first level of it's kind

Blank- blankst blankel

Tropical Resort- first level

So the selection is balls, unvaried and unimaginative. Not gonna blame Dimps for that one since they'll have been given guidance in the level selection, but damn, that's really stupid.

Tropical Resort has been confirmed? I didn't hear of any news that confirmed its presence in the game.

I would love that last level to be Sky Babyloh but since Tropical Resort and Silver are confirmed my guess its Kingdom Valley. Not that its bad choice its great level.

But Silver Battle would fit Sky Babylon.

Eugh that's balls. I mean better not have Plant Kingdom in. It was a great level, but with Mushroom Hill it would be so fucking redundant.

Waiting for proper confirmation of course, but it doesn't seem unlikely. We heard a recording of it along with Emerald Coast, Chemical Plant, Rooftop Run and such back at TGS.

Suddenly the "History of the First Stage" name makes for a better subtitle than "The Blue Adventure" for the 3DS version.

There's a small drugstore/pharmacy/convenience store in the area where I buy Nintendo Power on occasion. If it's available and if what speedfreak says holds truth, I'll buy it, bring it home and scan them up to show you.

If it is true, then...

...honestly, worst level selection for an anniversary title.

At this rate, it wouldn't surprise me if we only get a few Rush series stages in the multiplayer campaign. If there are actually multiplayer exclusive environments.
