Does anyone think that for Hard Mode, characters will transform?

For example,

Metal Sonic's Hard Mode, he becomes Super Metal Sonic and Death Egg Robo becomes Death Egg Robo Mk 2 from Sonic and Knuckles?

No.

Edit: Sorry, that answer wasn't well thought out enough, and could be considered spam. Let me revise it.

Hell no.

Transforming enemies? If anything I expect them to have a faster reaction time, not stay stunned as long, and take more hit's to kill.

It just seems incredibly implausible. Like, why would Metal Sonic bust out such an awesome transformation ONLY in an optional mode. And what, would Perfect Chaos be like, decked out with lasers flying out of every orifice, and Egg Dragoon would be like, every Eggman machine ever in one big clusterfuck (I'd call it the Egg Whatthefuckever)?! I mean, it just seems like a waste of gigs.

Personally, I love all that Sonic Generations is doing so far, but the one thing I wish they did differently was the bosses. I mean, so far, each era has only one major boss and one rival, and each is only fought with one hedgehog. That means only 3 bosses per hedgehog, and Classic only faces one MAJOR boss. It just seems rather unbalanced, especially with each hedgehog going through a different version... well, pretty much everything else EXCEPT the bosses.

Plus, there's so many bosses in the entire franchise, and with only 3 making it in, it just seems like the only aspect that ain't getting all that much coverage. I wish each hedgehog fought both rivals, perhaps in their unique perspective. Then, what would have been cool is for each era, each hedgehog would have their own unique boss. Like, what if for the Classic Era, while Classic fights the Death Egg Robo, what if Modern fought an updated version of the final boss from Sonic 1? Or for the Dreamcast era, Modern fights Perfect Chaos while Classic fights the Biolizard? And for the Modern era, what if Classic fought the Egg Dragoon while Modern fought the Nega Wisp? That would have been pretty epic :P

I mean, I guess they couldn't do too much due to the limited space, but.. I dunno, it's like the only thing I'm a bit disappointed in Generations in at this point. Still, maybe the data's incomplete and we'll be surprised by how the bosses and rivals are handled, but.. I kinda doubt it =/

I agree, so many amazing bosses were unable to get representation. If it were up to me, I would've had it so that each zone had its own boss, but sadly the higher ups think that the bosses weren't as affective on Sonic's history as the zones

I miss the days when I fought a boss at the end of almost every level.

Amen. I also miss arena bosses (didn't really like the ones on Colors).

Well, according to a preview, that Egg Blimp/Flying Battery reference in Modern Rooftop Run will sorta act as a mini-boss for Modern Sonic, so that's a start.. it'd be cool to get other mini-bosses besides just that though, like maybe some Egg Robos flying around in the Wrecking Ball Eggmobile from Sonic 1, or maybe even the Egg Hammer from Sonic Heroes, or those Lava Titan things from Sonic 2006.. stuff like that would be cool to see, but I wouldn't hold my breath unsure.png

Didn't someone say that Flying Battery will act like the one near the end of Angel Island Act II for Classic Sonic?

I'm pretty sure it was said Sonic just goes into the air ship and you hear him destroying everything then he pops out.

I wish we'd get bosses after every act. Those were the good days. :]

That's what I heard too, but I heard Modern Sonic somehow attacks the ship, and the faster he brings it down, the more rings you earn.. something like that. I forget which preview it was, and I could be wrong, but that's what I remember reading yesterday.

Im actually wondering how the bosses will appear in the game, seen as there all in separate zones...

I think you'll fight the Death Egg Robo after Sky Santuary Classics, as the Death Egg is in the background of the level, others I am unsure how Sonic will arrive at them..

You have to collect boss keys in order to Unlock the Boss stage.

You can say it, no one cares.

...Yes because Silver is the only boss in this game that matters, forget about Perfect Chaos and the Egg Robo, no Silver is the one that matters.

Does anything else in this game excite you at all, or are you only in it to see Silver for about 5 minutes before you beat him?

Sheesh! i wonder why it's taking them so long.unsure.png

I'm guessing it's one of the most spectacular battles in the game, but they should at least show us something.

No, it's because he's part of the last era. Naturally, he'll be the last one they show off.

I'm guessing it's either because they're going in chronological order or because they know people will RAGE the moment Silver shows up.

If SEGA's smart, they'll show Egg Dragoon and keep Silver on the DL.

I posted in another topic of what I'll think SEGA would do, but I'll save it.

But Revlis1, you should know! It's NO USE! Sega's going to TAKE THIS chance to reinvent the fight, yes, but I expect it's going to remain at least somewhat similar in style to the original fight- besides, Aaron Webber already said you should expect all the bosses to be where you originally fought them, at least in most cases, a long while back ago- so it most likely will be Castle Town. But everything else in Generations looks so much better than it did originally, I'm sure the same would go for this fight.

If it does indeed end up being Classic IBLIS TRIGGER vs Silver (which, in itself, IS unexpected, so don't say Sega's going to do something unexpected and then discredit that altogether, as that is hypocrisy) in a side-scrolling fight, I imagine it would go something like this:

Silver throws objects you in Castle Town, including crates and chairs. You either roll under them, or jump over them, depending on trajectory. After it's passed you, you can spindash into/jump onto him to attack him. As he loses health, he throws things in larger number, at faster frequency. Kind of like the Biolizard and those shadow balls.

Granted, I hated the Biolizard fight, but at least it was cheap on purpose and required quick reaction and skill, rather than being boring and glitchy (Though I swear the pink eggs are glitched).

However, the least likely, and last thing you should expect, is for it to be a chase fight in Crisis City. None of the boss or Rival fights thus far have taken place within the areas in any of the stages being represented, except in the 3DS version (Metal Sonic in Casino Night and Shadow in Radical Highway).

Death Egg Robo is still inside the Death Egg as in Sonic 2, Metal Sonic is still in Stardust Speedway (For the sake of argument, let's say the similar aethetics with how they reimagined Chemical Plant is just a coincidence- they have basically entirely different assets including different looking buildings, and their only shared trait is a similar (but actually different) red sky) and Shadow is yet again on The ARK (Final Chase, if you will).

Nothing at all suggests that your hopes even have any credibility, and all evidence points to your hopes being dashed. I'm being realistic, you should too, so that you don't end up being disappointed because your hopes/expectations were too high.
