New Smash Bros?

The drunkard from space!

I'm still waiting for the day when Samus gets either the Crystal Flash or Shinespark as official moves in Smash Bros. The Speed Booster would be an intense playstyle change from her general bruiser design.

I expect to see SOME Other M acknowledgment. If Hunters can get six trophies, one for each Hunter, in Brawl, Other M can get at least Madeline Bergman, Little Birdie, Adam Malkovich, and Anthony Higgs as Trophies.

Also, the Ridley remix from Other M is too good to pass up for Smash 4.

I could honestly see the Shinespark being Final Smash material; I'm just not sure how you would use it.  Maybe it'd be like the Critical Hit, but you'd aim it in any direction?

I'm not a big fan of how Brawl made up a bunch of super moves for a bunch of the characters; almost all of them have massive movepools/game reserves to choose from, and then we get shit like the Mario Finale and Triforce Slash. :V

If you don't mind me saying so, I thought Nintendoland's take was even better.

Speaking of, I wonder if any Nintendoland representation will be in order. At the very least I wouldn't mind seeing Monita in some form.

I would really love to see a Nintendo Land stage. The fight could take place on the tour train as it travels between the different attractions, kind of like Lylat Cruise. Monita could appear every now and then and provide some information on the current attraction.

What about from time to time it stops at a random atraccion and depending on one it stops certain events happen, then it resumes the tour

But immediately upon entering an attraction, she stops the fight and gives you a full tutorial on the current attraction. :D

lol but seriously, a Nintendoland stage would be fuckin' sexy.

I like the way you think, son.

For Metroid Blast, the train could be attacked by Kraid.

For Luigi's Mansion, the lights could go dim, making it a little tough to see.

For Octopus, attacking to the beat of the music could increase your attack damage.

Man, now I REALLY want a Nintendo Land stage.

Shulk better be in game. I wouldn't mind Fiora being an assist trophy.

Or they could be nonplayable and be assist trophies because

they both have Monados and could use their monado finishing move in some sort of dual trophy attack

MUSIC BETTER BE IN THE GAME THOUGH

(time to replay the beessst game eveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer *squeal*)

Random Assist Trophy idea that I thought about, inspired by Resetti from Brawl... Goombella from Paper Mario!  She tattles and gives tips about all the current players in the match.  8D

Though I fear like Resetti she'd be such a rare occurance that it'd kill me not being able to just know everything she has to say.

(Also I finished replaying SSB64 so was playing Melee earlier... speaking of Resetti I can't believe how weird it is looking at the Animal Crossing trophies and having them marked as "FUTURE RELEASE".  Like once upon a time I had no idea what these guys were from, crazy!).

If there is gonna be any returning stages in SSB4 from Brawl, Smashville better be one of the first picked. That was such a awesome stage!

Some of them actually did have very subtle nods to existing games, like Samus actually using a move like the Crystal Flash to restore her power suit (it probably was, in essence, the same move - I'd just like to see it oriented as more of an attack). The Mario "Finale" was designed similarly to 'Ultra Flame' from Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, so it's not entirely out there.

The final smash which annoyed me the most was Luigi's, though. So much wasted potential there for something integrating the Poltergust 3000.

What the hell was Luigi's smash supposed to be anyways? Some sort of voodoo dance?

It was him unleashing the beast through negative emotions. It's a joke attack of sorts.

I don't know what the basis of the actual attack was, but I feel like the name, Negative Zone, was a reference to the Minus World glitch.

Link's Final Smash should have been, like, Ether or Bombos or something.

I think in Luigis Final Smash Trophy it says something about the negative emotions from being overshadowed by Mario all the time.

I think a great one for link would have been the fatal blow, you choose an enemy and if your attack hits he does a quick sword combo knocking then back, then deals the fatal blow. Although if his final smash is nothing to do with Skyward Strikes this game imma be disappointed

Someone said is a reference to the Dimentio powers he absorbed after the events of Super Paper Mario.

Personally, i think Luigi could have a better final smash with the Poltergust.

Yeah I think Negative Zone was just meant to be more for humour than representing Luigi.  Like he's this REALLY silly awkward guy and then he has this terrifying Final Smash.  It's probably the least offensive of all "made up for Brawl" final smashes.

I'm sure I've said something to this effect before but I too dislike generic final smashes.  I think Mario is forever cursed to not be too unusual since he has to be... well... The Mario.

I want to say this could be solved by having some kind of icon or colour for all characters who are fairly well-rounded and simple to use, "beginner friendly" characters.  That way Mario would be free to express himself and all characters can be as weird as they like, with the less weird ones being allocated as good characters for newbies after.  On the flipside cluttering up the character select visually would not be too good.

You just need to get close enough for the Power Suit Samus Final Smash to do some damage.

Doesn't the Crystal Flash simply heal you, though?  It's been so long since I've played Super that I honestly can't remember how it worked.

You put down a power bomb with a charge shot and samus gets naked behind a light filter to restore her health.

Or something.

Only played NintendoLand for a couple of hours, none of which was for Metroid Blast, so I didn't know about this song, and most of which was devoted to that Donkey Kong game. I'd like to see that in the game, actually; it would be like a Super 75M, with carts and gears instead of jacks.

Back to music, I doubt the music list for Sonic, if he's in, is going to be as comprehensive as it was in Brawl. Him being in the game was the big thing, may as well get as many games referenced as possible. Him possibly being in Smash 4 will be retreading the same waters, so the music included might just be for significant games, particularly those after Brawl's release.

His music list may be broken down to:

Green Hill Zone - First game

Live and Learn - First game on a Nintendo platform

Endless Possibilities - After Brawl's release

Reach for the Stars - After Brawl's release, specifically a Nintendo-only game.

Brand New Venture - Nod to the handheld lineup

Un-Gravitify/Knight of the Wind - Nod to the spinoffs, a-la Super Sonic Racing/Seven Rings in Hand

And whatever Lost World's got - Specifically a Nintendo game

Those bolded are what I think will be songs certain to be in.

So a possible 5 to the 11 songs from Brawl. Though I would greatly appreciate more Sonic songs Tropical Resort Act 1 being in Smash 4, I don't think the number will quite reach Brawl's 11.

I want to see alternate costumes ala Wario happen for most chararacters. There are enough characters who have possible choices to use.

Mario- Dr.Mario

Luigi- Casino Luigi(Super Mario 64 DS/ New Super Mario Bros casino minigames)

Peach- M&S Winter Games apparel

Bowser- Dry Bowser

Link, Zelda, Ganondorf, and any other LOZ characters- Design from other game(i.e. TP designs and OoT/MM designs)

Samus- Fusion Suit or Power Suit

D.K.- D.K. Jr.

Star Fox characters- Designs from 2 different games(64 and Command)

PKMN Trainer- Gen 2/3 Trainer

Snake- Tuxedo

Sonic- Classic or Riders Design

Maybe Yoshi could get 12 costumes that are all different colored yoshies
