Decided to order We Dare from GAME last night after Ubisoft's announcement and see what happens :

Didn't think about what Hogfather said in the status box, that if we get it, we'll have one of the only UK copies, providing anyone else managed to get one delivered before the cancellation. If we get it, then I'm going to go flaunt it at the whiney protesters

Ha ha! I noticed HMV removed both versions from their website last night when I ordered. I bet everyone quickly ordered from GAME, and so far, they seem to be fulfilling orders.

If the UK boxart is different to mainland EU (symbols and text etc), then these copies will be worth an absolute fortune. If they're the same... then they'll only be worth a lot in the short terms as UK trophy hunters and PS3/Wii collectors will be after them for their general game collections...

Part of me does wonder if this is all a clever ploy, y'know. I don't wish to appear overly cynical, but a normal release would have seen this particular videogame consigned to the bargain bin pretty quickly.

By adding controversy, the publishers/developers are ensuring every single copy of the first production run is sold for maximum profit.

I'm taking CoolShop's lack of stock as a sign that I shouldn't get this game.

I actually found out that it was out of stock by placing an order with them, then being told there was none left. So I cancelled it, because I'm really not all that fussed about it to wait 7 days or whatever for more stock (if it ever comes in).
