First of all, it's DISDAIN not dis-stain, unless that was a piss poor attempt at some awful pun. Next, did you need to waste a whole 15 minutes reading (and terribly I might add) the links that you already posted? I never watched these videos before, and it looks like I didn't miss much. You don't even have the sense to edit the damn things for time. Then there's the second one. "Oh herp derp, Flynn's pissed off all these people at deviantArt and FurAffinity (because these are SUCH the respectable places) and some of us, instead of being sensible and patient and watching to see how it unfolds, are going either stop reading, or keep our subs and not open the comics lololol"

Who the hell cares if you don't open the comics? Keeping the subs gives them money, meaning they're still winning, genius. And then you turn right around and openly admit that you're going to pirate the things on youtube. Despite the fact that you're also paying for them. What the hell Ian Flynn! Are you purposely trying to kill our fans favorite characters?! Just look what you've done to Nicole, The Brotherhood of Guardians, SALLY, Bunnie, Hershey,SONIC, New Mobotroplis, Knuckles, Locke, and all of the other things YOU messed up!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd say you should have calmed down so you could post rationally, but seeing as how I'm doing the exact same thing, I'll let you go on that one :V

But BOO FREAKIN HOO, a main character in a comic book gets a forced Face Heel Turn! Stop the presses! It's such a vile deed, it's like I've been touched by a Catholic Priest! I'm pissed off that a bunch of crappy and/or stale characters got some character development or killed off!

No really. Seriously? The Brotherhood? Locke? Hershey? Granted, I've been on and off with the book, but I don't remember any of those characters being ever useful. In fact, I think those are all Ken Penders's love children. Are you one of his alts or something? Sally being roboticized is probably a really good thing because honestly? She was a boring character. And this is coming from someone who likes her a whole bunch! She was one of the first Sonic characters I'd ever seen, and I do admittedly have on some rose tinted glasses when it comes to her.

This seems like the dumbest thing to complain over though. The status quo is being shaken up in a good way. Things are happening, and you're crying for what? That Sonic and Sally can't waste more panels with hawt furry buttsecks or something? The one that strikes me the oddest is the Nicole complaint. This is character that went from being a boring little handheld to having one of the most emotionally moving stories that I've seen in a long while. Like, it's really deep when you sit down and think of it, but that's for another day. I'm not saying you can't complain, just that this complaint is rather daft. But that's nothing! Wait til we get a load of this guy!

This is probably the saddest one of the bunch. The guy seems to have some kind of boner for this "Other M" thing that some random characters in the Silver Arc were based on. He can't let it go. He thinks it's the driving force for everything when all it got was a few cameos. He links to an email from Flynn where he talks about how he pretty much knows exactly what the hell he's doing, and how Sally got blown to hell and back by a random turret. In fact, he goes on to list a few things which have happened recently and how they're HORRIBLE HORRIBLE things. Let's see here:

1. Had her blown away with a turret gun.

What did you expect the turret to do? Send her into a Death Throws pose and make her restart from the last checkpoint?

2. Made her sacrifice herself in one of the most ridiculous and contrived ways possible. (Seriously, Sally being that content to turn the beam on herself? Who does that without some form of fear or hesitation?)

Last time I checked, most good guys are perfectly ok with ending their own lives if it means saving others. That's why they're heroes! Oh sure, she probably was upset at the thought, but there are limited pages, and a Hero's gotta do what a Hero's gotta do. Plus, if the age old "redirect the death laser to it's source" is "ridiculous and contrived", I'd hate to see your examples of great storytelling.

3. Had Eggman take a blowtorch to Sally's metal body (More than likely, he had her metal parts in a pile off screen before turning her into a super weapon)

That is kinda sick if you really think about it.

What's sick about it? It's a god damn robot! Usually a blowtorch is needed to mod and repair the thing. Weaponizing his newest acquisition was probably the smartest thing Eggman could do in that case, and a refreshing aversion of the villain ball.

4. Hinted about killing a beloved comrade or family member in 234. (Granted, this is just a rumor, but something happens in 235 that eventually splits up the team. Whatever it is, it cannot be anything good)

Speculating out of your ass like a Wikipedia poster, I see!

5. Had hardly any of her comrades affected by her now current absence. (Wow, since when were the Freedom Fighters heartless individuals? Shouldn't they at least be a little shaken up by this sad turn of events, especially since she is their leader after all?)

Yes. They should totally focus on one dead character when the evil wizard king is overthrowing the monarchy and the 3rd tier villains teamed up with the forgotten villains and blew the city to hell and almost got the planet sucked into a black hole. Oh, and this is right after the Megazord sized Metal Sonic ravaged the city! It makes perfect sense! But wait, it gets better!

Secondly, Bunnie being deroboticized at nearly the almost exact same time is nothing short of a, "What the heck?" moment.

Seriously, how does Flynn think that's believable at all?

You cannot just turn someone who, many issues ago(Super Sonic Special #11) was told her cybernetic process would remove any chance of being restored to normal without many eyebrows arching.

And yet, Ian pulls a deus ex machina moment here, basically saying, in not so many words "Who cares about continuity? I'm going to change the rules to fit my story."

I think you missed the part where 1. It's a set up for a future plot point, 2. Reality just got screwed to hell and back by the Genesis arc and 3. this act involved Ixis Magic and a Chaos Emerald. You know, those gems that have proved to be the most bullslag macguffins in the history of ever ranging from being able to morph water creatures into dragons, being glorified batteries for Megazords, turing your spiky hedgehogs into super saiyans and reviving hedgehogs from the dead. And that's all Sonic team's work too, so you can't pull the "herp derp archie sucks lololol" card on this one.

Creative liberties are fine and dandy when within certain boundaries, but this was not one of them.

As I said, Ian changed the continuity to fit the characters to his liking.

So you may be asking yourself, "Why is Ian doing this? Why he is in a sense, playing god with the story and cast now?"

What writer DOESN'T shake up the canon as they see fit? That's what being a writer is all about! You know what happens when you lock yourself into a corner with no character development and major events? The Sonic X comic. Know why that's not going anymore? Cause aside from Eggman's wacky antics, the slag sucked. (Sonic X as a whole sucks balls too, but that's another rant)

Flynn's "playing god with the story and cast now?" because the slag got boring and stale. Just as he said in that email that you linked and apparently didn't read. The good guys were winning. All the time. "Bold New Moebius" went out on a whimper. Aside from Regina being sexy as hell, "Iron Dominion" wasn't really anyting special, but it did help set up what we have here. You know why 175 was so friggin awesome? Cause Eggman got slag done, and he got it done with style.

We've basically had 50 issues of the good guys kicking ass and taking names and you wanna complain cause the bad guys are getting the upper hand? I'd almost say you're all the sort of fans that should be ignored, but as that email said, you're doing exactly what Flynn wants you to.

Your whining and crying over a boring character is playing right into his hand, and Archie Comic's wallet. You can't wait for Sonic to go back to being a boring invincible hero and having hawt furry lovemaking with Sally or Amy so in the meantime, you're demonizing the writer for making things actually interesting. Seriously, we just got Team Metallix, which includes METAL GOD DAMN KNUCKLES^TM and you wanna whine about a bunch of characters that hardly anyone gave a slag about in the first place?

I almost wish that Metal Sally ends up as disposable as Metal Sonic's been before this arc, just to watch you cut yourselves in agony. You even got an Anti Mecha Sally club started on dA (with all of two members! Guess who's one of them!) Seriously, let go of the Other-M boner. It's as dead as Fleetway's Sonic now, and not really doing anything to help/harm the book.

This whole thing is like complaining that Sonic Unleashed had a terrible story when all you've seen is Super Sonic getting owned at the beginning. How about you let the story play out first before whining? Or better yet, just keep on whining. I'm going right back to ignoring the whole lot of you and grinning like a retard over Archie solidifying their dominance over Sonic Team in character usage.

Ugh, people complaining that Sally is taking over Amy's role and why she sucks is really starting to grate on me. I feel for Flynn, I really do his writing is far from perfect but the amount of crap he has to go through from both fans and haters must be staggering; Fans hate him because he messes with the status quo and "abuses" their favorite characters, while haters see him as this Sally worshiping fanboy who has some vendetta against the Sega cast, I mean goddamn.

Plus it's the fact, that for those long-time fans (even me) the comic is like the last piece of SatAM out there to enjoy, and for someone to do what Ian did, it leaves a bad taste in their mouths and shows disrespect for the very media that got them to enjoy and read the comics in the first place. For those that are Non, to them Ian still won't give them a issue or so where it's focused not just on the other comic/SatAM characters, but mainly on those that featured in the games.

Somehow, I seriously doubt those numbers. This sounds more like...dangit what's that term for using "we" to to act like there's dozens of sharers when it's just yourself? In any case, it only takes one visit to the SEGA boards to see that a lot of people weren't happy with the direction of the comics anyway. That probably won't be changing any time soon. Oh and you're dreaming if you think SEGA of America is going to do anything other than make silly mandates on the book.

You missed the part where the TV shows and Comics are what got me into the franchise, and so I'm basically one of the people you're talking about in that last paragraph there. At any rate, this doesn't leave a bad taste in my mouth in the slightest. In fact, this is making Sally a whole lot more interesting to me. I've never been too worried that all the TV show characters are gonna be killed off because that's silly and serves no real purpose except pleasing the greedy fans that already have an entire canon of what they want.

In fact, for being such an avid fan of the old StH cartoon, I think you need to take a step back and appreciate what you have. You get your favorite characters featured and focused on at least once a month. I'm going to leave you with the fact that my all time favorite Sonic character, is in fact, from Sonic Underground.

I absoutely agree with that. Satam debuted when I was 7 and in a sense, its a piece of my childhood. The Comics are the last place where the Freedom Fighters live at and I cannot bear the thought of seeing them disappear and forgotten. The game characters are welcome to be in the series and to stay on it, but the core FF are characters that a lot of people still love.

Also Archie Sonic and Satam are two different canons. Now I like Sally. She's one of my favorite characters(I like her more then Sonic). I'm not completely happy that Sally has been roboticized but I'm going to wait till this storyline is over before I make any judgements on this storyline.

I don't think we can blame the entirety of the comic's direction on Ian. He's writing it yes but hasn't it been heard dozens of times that the higher ups want it to be more like the games in style?

It's certainly heading in that direction, We never see any really off-model artwork anymore, The characters act much more like their game counterparts (Eggman is pretty much spot-on), we've started seeing Sonic and Tails team up, Knuckles is always guarding the Master Emerald, there's only 7 multi-coloured Chaos emeralds now (rather than millions of green ones) and now The Freedom Fighters dispanding could be a part of that plan.

I'd say it's less about 'disrespecting' SatAM and much, much more about simple brand recognition. Like people bitching about the writers for the Generations story being so simple when in fact it's most likely a business decision not made by the writers. We know SEGA are in the middle of doing a brand overhaul, I'd say the successful comic series would have to be involved in that overhaul to.
