EDIT: Since the words out, how about we throw spoilers on so we don't ruin it for everybody?

Ooh. I'm always up for SU 37 details, especially since that begins Eggman's Scrambled story arc and all. Looking forward to seeing the issue!

Saw the pic floating aound. Archie's Team Metal is born!

Also:

Metal Tails is apart of the team Looks as close as an official design as we will ever get to.Metal Knuckles is the Sonic R look if anybody was questioning it. and Metal Sally is in her new body/full armor...I think eggman redid her hair too...

Apparently Bwrosas, in order for Ian to "redeem" himself in your eyes he is gonna to have to dedicate an arc to Sally melting in a bathtub, and nobody in their right mind is going to do that.

Ugh, people complaining that Sally is taking over Amy's role and why she sucks is really starting to grate on me. I feel for Flynn, I really do his writing is far from perfect but the amount of crap he has to go through from both fans and haters must be staggering; Fans hate him because he messes with the status quo and "abuses" their favorite characters, while haters see him as this Sally worshiping fanboy who has some vendetta against the Sega cast, I mean goddamn.

(In My Opinion) 50% of the fanbase detest the way Ian is going with this, (Depending on whither they like Sally or not), you never know what could happen, meaning they could (should they chose to) e-mail/snail mail their complaints to the head hunchos at Archie Comics and possibly Sega of America and have something done.

I'm not saying I want Ian Flynn fired, Because I Don't!

And it's not just that either, it's also the way Ian is going overall with the storyarc, yes 50% like it, but the other 50% don't, and when part of that last percentage are fans that have been with the franchise since the start and more so got introduce to the comics by watching SatAM, then you may understand their disdain for what's he's doing in their eyes, not saying that Non-SatAM fans/Game-only fans like what he's doing, because some of them have been very vocal against it too.

Plus it's the fact, that for those long-time fans (even me) the comic is like the last piece of SatAM out there to enjoy, and for someone to do what Ian did, it leaves a bad taste in their mouths and shows disrespect for the very media that got them to enjoy and read the comics in the first place. For those that are Non, to them Ian still won't give them a issue or so where it's focused not just on the other comic/SatAM characters, but mainly on those that featured in the games.

Somehow, I seriously doubt those numbers. This sounds more like...dangit what's that term for using "we" to to act like there's dozens of sharers when it's just yourself? In any case, it only takes one visit to the SEGA boards to see that a lot of people weren't happy with the direction of the comics anyway. That probably won't be changing any time soon. Oh and you're dreaming if you think SEGA of America is going to do anything other than make silly mandates on the book.

Nobody ever said you did. >_>

You missed the part where the TV shows and Comics are what got me into the franchise, and so I'm basically one of the people you're talking about in that last paragraph there. At any rate, this doesn't leave a bad taste in my mouth in the slightest. In fact, this is making Sally a whole lot more interesting to me. I've never been too worried that all the TV show characters are gonna be killed off because that's silly and serves no real purpose except pleasing the greedy fans that already have an entire canon of what they want.

In fact, for being such an avid fan of the old StH cartoon, I think you need to take a step back and appreciate what you have. You get your favorite characters featured and focused on at least once a month. I'm going to leave you with the fact that my all time favorite Sonic character, is in fact, from Sonic Underground.

All true, but then you have fans (SatAM/Non-SatAM) that are worried that he is slowly turning this into a "PG" version of "Other-M," however with a few similatires, that has yet to be proven. For me personally, the only way this could be fully proven true in any way is if this all turns out to be a fortelling dream of Sonic's that he's having while in a coma after 125. But I hope I'm wrong. And there's a possiblite that this may be just a long drugged out way to probably give Sally a full clothed desgin, should/if/when she is restored to normal, as some fans on both sides see it.

I absoutely agree with that. Satam debuted when I was 7 and in a sense, its a piece of my childhood. The Comics are the last place where the Freedom Fighters live at and I cannot bear the thought of seeing them disappear and forgotten. The game characters are welcome to be in the series and to stay on it, but the core FF are characters that a lot of people still love.

Here we go with that "Other M" stuff again. It's like the Sonic 06 of Ian's career. He'll never be able to live it down. I'm not seeing this obsession with dragging it into everything. Just let it die already! In any case, looks like you missed the part where you're supposed to be upset and unsettled. That's a sign that Flynn is doing his job properly.

I'm not upset, never was, I'm just going stand to side.in the middle and watch what happens, like some others probably will.

Ian's not going to do the "It's all a dream" thing. That would be stupid.

Also Archie Sonic and Satam are two different canons. Now I like Sally. She's one of my favorite characters(I like her more then Sonic). I'm not completely happy that Sally has been roboticized but I'm going to wait till this storyline is over before I make any judgements on this storyline.

In the middle? Really? Cause it sure sounds like you've bought box seats to the "I hate Ian's Writing" section. Haven't seen you say a single positive thing about this arc, or any other arc.

I don't think we can blame the entirety of the comic's direction on Ian. He's writing it yes but hasn't it been heard dozens of times that the higher ups want it to be more like the games in style?

It's certainly heading in that direction, We never see any really off-model artwork anymore, The characters act much more like their game counterparts (Eggman is pretty much spot-on), we've started seeing Sonic and Tails team up, Knuckles is always guarding the Master Emerald, there's only 7 multi-coloured Chaos emeralds now (rather than millions of green ones) and now The Freedom Fighters dispanding could be a part of that plan.

I'd say it's less about 'disrespecting' SatAM and much, much more about simple brand recognition. Like people bitching about the writers for the Generations story being so simple when in fact it's most likely a business decision not made by the writers. We know SEGA are in the middle of doing a brand overhaul, I'd say the successful comic series would have to be involved in that overhaul to.
