Earlier today, Sonic Mania Plus finally made its debut on mobile devices via Netflix Games. Initially revealed last year, this has been a long time in coming, and marks the latest development in SEGA and Netflix's partnership. Anyone with a Netflix account and access to a compatible mobile device can now download and play on both iOS and Android. This port was developed by Lab42, a subsidiary of Sumo Group.

I decided to take some time to play the game ahead of writing this. How is it? Well, it seems fine, if barebones. I'll admit, I don't always have the best eye for frame rate, especially on a smaller screen. If you've played previous Classic Sonic mobile ports, you should know what to expect, though there is a caveat: you cannot adjust the size or position of the touch controls. To give you an idea of how it looks on different devices, here are the touch controls on an iPhone 14 Pro:
And here they are on an iPad Air 2019 model, which has a 4:3 aspect ratio:
The only part of the touch controls you can adjust is switching between right handed and left handed:
