Pokemon X & Y (October 2013 on 3DS) - [Now out! Go out and play it already]

I have a request. Would there be anyone getting X who would be willing to trade their Charizard X for a Charizard Y? I really, really want one, but I like Yveltal and Y's exclusives better...

I don't think you can trade. The prerequisite for activating Mega Charizard X is to have Charizard holding the item Charizardite X while playing Pokemon X, and similarly you have to hold Charizardite Y while playing Pokemon Y for Mega Charizard Y.

So it seems it's very much based on what actual version you're playing as opposed to them just being different Pokemon.

Mwahaha, I have 2 3DS' and getting both versions, so I can just trade the item into my Y Version.

Argh, a fire/dragon Mega Charizard who looks badass but is in the version with less appealing (IMO) Xerneas. Typical. DX

You can trade Pokémon holding items.

I know you can trade the items but it rather specifically pointed out "...when playing Pokemon X" or "...when playing Pokemon Y". You may be able to get the Charizardite X item into Pokemon Y, but that doesn't mean it'll necessarily activate in that version. I hope I'm wrong, I just thought it was strange how they emphasised it.

Well, looks like I ordered the right version after all.

It's not that I'm a fangirl over Charizard, it's just the colour scheme and type-set is pretty sweet.

I was only going to get X because of Mewtwo X (I love fighting types), but now I have another reason.

Heads up, Plusle and Minun have been retconned to Electric/Fairy

And still no one will use them.

That would be extremly unfair, especially now that competitive play is a thing.

I think that if they wanted to make the forms actually exclusive, they wouldn't create two items and call them X and Y.

A single Charizardite would have been enough and when used in X you would get Charizard X and in Y, Charizard Y.

The Instagram guy is no longer leaking anything due to the fact Nintendo got a hold of him.

TBH, I strongly suspected he was faking it anyway, so I'm not surprised, nor do I care.

So, was Corocoro or some shit supposed to come out soon? Because there is a page showing the ugly as sin evolutions of the cotton candy dog and big nosed bird.

Y'know, I coulda sworn I remember reading someone at Gamefreak saying something about how they had to make 3 models for the Pokemon... Could this be what they meant? Every Mega Pokemon has an X and a Y counterpart...?

Wow, they both look awful.

The dog is not an evolution, but a customization.  You have to keep it groomed, or it reverts to the shaggy look

We're not talking about Furfrou, we're talking about the ugly fucking things below it. I thought that was obvious.

He mentioned the dog in his comment, so I assumed he was taking about all of them.  Not so obvious indeed

When I said cotton candy dog, I was talking about that thing with its tongue outside its mouth. I mean, it looks somewhat like a bulldog to me.

As if I thought the cotton candy dog couldn't look any more ridiculous. I think this may have actually surpassed Vanilluxe as the most stupid looking Pokemon.

Oh well.  An easy mistake, since that doesn't look like anything I would call a dog.

>People hating on Pokemon because of their design.

The design almost entirely defines the Pokemon other than how it plays in the games with the stats and whatnot.
