Doug, Jason, and Jori go nuts in AT episode, The Duke.

Yeah, The Duchess of Nuts design and lines are really good in this. Also, nice segway for the next episode by Jason.

Cinema Snob takes a deep look at the sequel, Pussy Talk 2

Seriously, he already reviewed about 4 of these talking genital movies. Exactly how many more out there and is there seriously an audience for this kind of crap?

I know but even with that, most people I've seen think he's an idiot. For instance I often hear complaints about the "magic vs technology" thing.

To add onto that. Most of them hate the site and everyone on it, but especially linkara.

Honestly can't remember much about this since CN doesn't air it too often, but yeah, I do remember the whywolves, the building people, and the sad ending.

Is he planning on reviewing adventure time?

I don't see any reason for him to do so since he's doing a review of every single episode.

Really liked this one especially the Batman Diet Coke, Toys R' Us Kids, the crappiness of Kix, creepy Count Chocula, Rape Whistle, and the unexpected talk about the American Pancakes Denny's Commercial.

Also, O HAI MARK! along with the hinted crossover with Angry Joe for the Man of Steel review as well as Satan being pregnant.

HO. LY. CRAP. I thought the day would never come! The commercial specials have to be my absolute favorite episodes out of all the NC stuff, so I was just waiting for Doug to make another one, but with the previous ones sort of forming a trilogy and the fact that we hadn't seen one since 2011, I wasn't counting on it. It's so great to finally have a fourth slice of pop culture riffing and I'll definitely be giving this a watch soon. :D

Doug and Jason dream up meaning behind AT's Rainy Day Dream

http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/videolinks/thatguywiththeglasses/specials/41321-adventure-time-vlogs-rainy-day-daydream

I really liked the concept about how you don't see the stuff that is being imagined and expressionless Jake. Though I thought Jason would have known and tell Doug that Lady Rainicorn and BMO have the same voice actors which would explain its accent.

Doug and Jason talk heroics in AT's His Hero.

http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/videolinks/thatguywiththeglasses/specials/41341-advhero

Kinda hoping that they talk more about the song and the hilarious 'bear' lyric. Though no mentioning of the Lich, but I guess it is expected as he plays a bigger role later. Also, one episode left before we reach season 2 where more backstory is revealed.

I just watched the "Has CGI Gone Too Far" episode, and I got to tell you, I faded out when he made mention of the notion that a fault of CG lighting was the fact that the numbers aren't always accurate. It tells you just how out of their league someone is the context they want to discuss CGI in is the numbers. So I had to watch it again to better comprehend the whole thing... and it's still irking me.

First of all, I don't even know what he means about "if this bit of CGI worked in a film, logically it should work for another." No seriously, what is the context of this? What are the patterns he was talking about? Because it's just not how film production... works? People caught onto CGI because of both its ubiquity and its technical limitations, not because of these mysterious patterns between movies being repeated.

And again, the "the lighting is always not going to work the way the computer says" bit. Yes, light in CGI is achieved through mathematics. All CGI is really just a bunch of mathematics, but CGI artists are not working within a number-crunching context. CG passes are created by human eyes and aesthetic tastes. We're adding lights and colors and effects we can see, and constantly referencing them as best we can to real life, to further refine them into the final product. Now, he admittedly says there's more to it than just "plugging numbers in," but he never goes into any real detail about what that actually accounts for, so it comes off as more of an aside than anything and further sign that he's not up-to-date on how these films are produced.

Similarly, I get annoyed at the deification of practical effects which I'm glad he pointed out, although again it's more like an aside in the whole thing. It's 2013. We can blatantly see when things are puppetry and practical effects just like we can sometimes see when things are CGI, as animatronics, stop-motion, fake blood, and the like lack the nuance of realistic movement and accurate texture. Whenever a puppet creature talks or blinks or moves its ears or whatever, I can just as easily see the gears turning in it as I can see the absolute fake-ness of the CGI monkeys in Jumanji.

I'm also not sure about his insistence that the realism of CG allows audiences to better accept these kinds of films versus 2D films. It's difficult to speak for the wider audience, but I would think that just has more to do with better storytelling effort having gone into these films over the years, as well as studios trying to keep up with one another in producing these films. I don't think traditional's lack of dimension is a universal turn-off, per se (just look at Japan for instance). I just think studios are chasing the money and audiences are going along with it because the output is good.

As for his ultimate conclusion, I'm left underwhelmed and in disagreement. CGI is currently to the point where it can work just as well being an additive substance to a film or creating entire worlds as traditional methods can, whether that's in the animated features, visual effects showcases like Gravity, or the cost-saving, mind-blowing mastery of the art form like in Zodiac. However you choose to do a film- whether it's old-school, new-school, or a mix of the two, is up to you, and any potential missteps cannot be as reliably blamed on the medium's failings anymore so much as your own lack of skill in wrangling the art forms.

The comments just cinched it. More "CG cartoons lack artistry" bullshit. I love traditional animation as much as the next person, but I get nauseated at this insistence of trashing CG films in order to put traditional on a pedestal, because CG films proven their worth time and time again. 3D's an art; get your heads out of your asses, ya goddamn Luddites.

Urrrrrgh, I need to watch some Initial D.

Doug and Jason starts off season 2 of AT with It Came from the Nightosphere

http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/videolinks/thatguywiththeglasses/specials/41373-adventure-time-vlogs-it-came-from-the-nightosphere

Kinda hoped that they mentioned the fluffy people and the vikings, but still agreeing that it is a good episode to start off the new season and to introduce an awesome character as Hunson Abadeer. Also, I thought Jason would know that Marcy's father is a demon and that she is a half-demon, half-vampire.

Really loved Rob in this as he kept saying how the show is awesome after just viewing his first episode with this and mocks Doug for the for the first few vlogs about Doug saying how hard it is to talk about it. I hope Rob becomes a regular on the videos now that he is basically a fan and it's right up his alley, though probably needs to catch up with the others in the series before he appears again.

Doug and crew slows it down a bit to talk about AT's Slow Love

http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/videolinks/thatguywiththeglasses/specials/41457-adventure-time-vlogs-slow-love

Yeah, it was an okay episode. Though no one mentioned that the slug was voiced by Biz Markie, but eh. There are things that I like about in this episode such as Jake's snail forms and his switching between genders and the line "Don't go out there! You'll get slimed and/or grind on!"
