Archie Sonic Main Discussion

Because he never was a Freedom Fighter? Silver stated the one of the original memebers of the FF's (being Sonic, Sally, Antoine and Rotor) betrayed the team and doomed his future back in #195.

And yes, it's been said that all Archie-exclusive characters won't be in the crossover.

And Tails, he was an original too.

Well...ignoring the "Original" Freedom Fighters.

He technically wasn't a full-fledged member at the time.

So, I just read 245 yesterday and I'm impressed. I am hopeful that they flesh Thrash out some more after 246 because it's always stupid when characters are set up for something big and then chucked out the window when they're not needed.

Yeah, that page is really old by now. Just shows how long it took to resolve that plot...with no kind of intermediate hints along the way.

Edit: Do you want more quotes on stuff. Have a quote on Sonic Digest #2 stuff;

[Member of Bumbleking who has purchased this issue] got it today. [Member of Bumbleking who has purchased this issue is] not too bothered about the story selection. It was the profile page for Knuckles that hammered in that nail of doubt even further: the article talks as if Endangered Species has finished, and what does it say about Knux? The last of his kind.

It's also weird to point out that that same profile talks as if everything that happened between the echidnas return at the beginning of the Knuckles comic and their disappearance in ES never happened, saying that Knuckles' people disappeared long ago, and any remaining remnants of their culture have since been wiped out by Eggman's forces, and banished by Thrash.

[Member of Bumbleking who has purchased this issue is] still optimistic about the Nocturnus though: we've gotten to the point where not even Penders stories or anything featuring his characters are allowed to be printed in these magazines, and yet the very characters that Penders claimed where plagiarized from his works, thus starting this whole mess in the first place, have been allowed to appear in the reprinted Chronicles adaption with no problem. To [Member of Bumbleking who has purchased this issue], [Member of Bumbleking who has purchased this issue sees] that as a good sign that these characters are still free for use.

But wait, where does this leave Doc Fini, then? Does he not count despite not being a Penders char? O_o;;

After what he did to him, I doubt Knuckles would even pretend to entertain the notion of associating with Finitevus.

I think a funny potential story would be how Knuckles and Fintevious would have to be forced to get along a make nice with one another considering that they're the last of their kind.

Though considering how Fintevious was all to willing to wipe out his own kind I don't think Thrash's shenanigans will phase him much, if at all.

Silver had the power to take out a demigod that no other hero could.

I think it's safe to say he'll still have his uses.

I think Mogul probably knew all along there was no traitor. He likely understood his student is far too naive to comprehend this himself, so just sent him on a one-way trip back so he could learn that way.

Silver can still save his future. He has to identify what causes the collapse of the future; it may not be a traitor, but the future is still messed up as ever. Something horrible happened, and that will become the focus of his plot now.

I have never read Archie as I have mentioned before, but I'm wagering a guess that Mogul probably found some way to fuck up the future secretly and was planning to pull some kind of shtick to make himself out to be a hero, so he could publicly restore the Order of Ixis unrestrained, or just gain total control of the world. However, some kind of thing happened that involved Silver (and maybe his ancestors or something), so Mogul needed to get Silver out of the way.

Oh geez I just read SU 49... what a tearjerker! Gawd dammit why did I get upset over a kids comic?!

Mighty's rage after Jack, bloody hell! Don't wanna get on his bad side. I also like the odd reversal of character alignments in this region: the DEL technically being the good guys, the Freedom Fighters being the assholes? I mean wow. Also the obvious Bunnie silhouette looked a bit strange. It's obviously her, but the outline looks a bit odd... new hair, no hat and bobbly looking legs instead of noodle legs. Hmm.

Anyways I have to say I'm not particularly looking forward to the Worlds Collide crossover. The combined storylines of Mecha Sally, "the traitor", Eggman's latest plots and the effects of these on the DEL, the Secret Freedom Fighters, "King" Naugus, Iron Queen etc are coming to a head. I just want them to get on with it already! biggrin.png

Eh, I'm the opposite. Most of that stuff went from interesting to boring for me and no longer bought the comics since October.

Since MM and StH have their respective milestone issues coming up (#25 and #250,) they could've have picked a better way to celebrate the occasions IMO.

Just got StH #246 in the mail. The long and short of it is:

Sonic and Shard fight the Krudzu. Knuckles fights Thrash through various locations. (Including White Acropolis, oddly enough.) Krudzu gets reduced to its original state and jarred. The Knux/Thrash fight escalates to Angel Island. Thrash gets away. The Chaotix arrive back from their SU adventure and greet their buddy. They get confused as to why he's all rage-filled. Knux slams the ground in said rage. Shard suggests using the Krudzu to save Sally. Tails thinks that it could work if they use it to make a deroboticizing agent. Shard offers to take the sprig back to New Mobotropolis to begin work on the cure. Team Fighters and Shard go their seperate ways. End with "OMGIFOUNDTHETRAITOR!" tease from Silver.

Also, Julie-Su's gun makes a cameo on Angel Island and there's at least one other intelligent Devil aside from Thrash: an elderly one that he tries to keep Knux away from.

Well let's be honest, the entire arc went to shit due to the Penders stuff. I pretty much knew it wasn't going to be all that interesting seeing it's just 3 issues of Knuckles and Thrash beating the crap out of each other. Hopefully the comic can refocus after Worlds Collide.

Is Endangered Species getting a graphic novel release?

Probably in a few years when Sonic Sagas gets to it.

So are the nanites of New Mobotropolis too small for the krudzu to take over? Because it seems like a dumb-as-bricks idea to bring the evil monster that assimilates robots to become more powerful into a city made of

nothing but lots and lots of robots. And have it escorted there by yet another robot.

The logic of foisting it onto your robot girlfriend to cure her is a bit questionable too, but I'll let them play the "magic/science made it work" card there and be on with it. The idea just seems so contrived.

Going completely off-topic here- does anyone know of any sites where I could download every Archie Sonic comic issue? I have spent the last hour searching endlessly with little success. I know Tails Kicks Ass.net used to have them, but I can no longer make a new account sadly. Would appreciate any help given smile.png

Edit: Scratch that, I've gotten TKA to work now : )

Wouldn't surprise me. From the looks of it, the Krudzu Hydra can only possess a robot if it can insert its vines into it, whereas the nanites are far too small for that to happen.
