I was a bit worried with how the 3DS version has been turning out. Some of the levels have been very basic and flat compared with the Wii U counterpart. I blame it both on the hardware and Dimps, but more on Dimps as Colors Wii did so much so I'm sure they could do a little more.

Thankfully, some of these newer screens have been turning that opinion away a bit as I'm seeing more open ended levels.

This is what I was trying to imply - it's similar to how Generations 3DS turned out. It's almost as if they haven't had a lot of time to work on the game so they're ironing out issues like framerate, transitions, and bugs now like their previous title.

OH LOL, but yea, im sold on this version, looking like a jewel just like the Wii U version, only thing im concerned about is if the 3DS version is gonna have stages like that Casino, Honeycomb & Candy Stage at this point. I feel like those stages could make it though.

Yo, they fixed the transitions in the 3DS version, the framerate is pretty good compared to Generations 3DS, i dont see bugs or glitches anywhere so meh. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cITkRNH9jbQ

The gameplay in this game is great, its like the same game, different wisps & level design.

Bingo, gotta see how the level plays out 1st though.

Its pretty much around the same level aspect, I think this is Tropical Coast

You can see a stone head's nose on the right of the last image also since this tropical coasts atmosphere is like aquatic ruin I have a feeling the reliefs from marble garden and the arrow shooters from aquatic ruin will be back

Something else I want to point out, you cant do the 3DS version justice through screenshots. The screenshots are fuzzy & dont bring out the openness of the stages like the actually gameplay will. I've seen Frozen Factory Act 1 & it looks amazing compared to how the screenshots show it out to be.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TSlUia-QbWw

Skip to 1:45 for Frozen Factory & watch in 720 HD

Also you cant compare the 2D stages to the 3D stages, the 3D stages are supposed to be open and adventurous(Example: Frozen Factory Act 1), whereas the 2D stages are ment to compliment platforming & puzzles (Example: Desert Ruins Act 2). Then speed & gimmicks fit inside both 2D & 3D stages altogether.

Err, are these Icy Die in this picture ?:

Electrocuted_feeling.png

If they are, im gonna say call it right now, 3DS Casino Stage Confirmed

I wonder if Dimps threw some new things into the demo stages already revealed, cause this wasnt in the Demo Gameplay

Um, it's "dice." Die is the singular./grammarnazi

Actually, I think the sunset level in Windy hill gonna be the same:

Sonic-Lost-World-3DS.jpgLook at the screen on the 3DS, it look the same as this:

SonicLostWorld6.jpg

Or they were just lazy and just slap that screenshot on the 3DS.

Yes it's a Wii U screenshot. They're both identical and the art is far better than the 3DS version. They probably just did it to say that there is a 3DS version

That ice zone looks really good. I'm also loving how it's not just keep going straight and that they're incorporating mechanics such as rolling snowballs to block ice vents.

Yeah, it's the latter...

I think it might be more than six though. I know Lizuka said six, but if you look at the image you linked in the post, it shows that after the six in the image, there's a little red ring sticking out meaning that there's (most likely) a seventh stage to get 5 more red rings in. Either that, or they've added red rings to the boss fights now, but honestly I doubt that's what's going on here.

Off topic, but... that's not how you spell his name. I've noticed a few other people seem to think that his name is spelled like that, but it's not. Probably because of the font that SSMB typically uses for posts, since it makes capital "i"s look exactly the same as lowercase "L"s. His name is "iizuka" not, "Lizuka". Just wanted to clarify that. Sorry, it's something that's been bugging me for a while now, with other folks on the net.

What's that circus tent in the stage select screen is it the DLC for NIGHTS or a themed stage

Also, anybody else notice Yacker is back and part of the story? or at least the hub, ought to be somewhat interesting

I was about to say that. Yacker possibly being in this I wouldn't mind.(if he does't disappear for half of the game randomly.)

Also, the hub layout I have to say is pretty awesome imo! Wow the colors, the design of the map, I mean I wish we had hubs ike unleashed, but I'm fine with this.

Great, I wait 2 days for more screenshots and nothing, I miss one day, a ton of screenshots are released and I miss the discussion sleep.png

Oh anyways.

sonic_lost_world_3ds-14-1.jpg

Wasn't that giat head at the end of the Honeycomb-themed Desert Ruins of the Wii U version?

OH.

MY.

GOSH.

I'm pretty sure that giant head has something to do with the plot, I mean, 1 time it's OK, 2 times it's kinda strange, as I saw it in the 2D level of Desert Ruins on the background, but kinda different, and now 3 times?... Maybe this will mean another ancient stuff like SA or Unleashed.

Oh and talking about game details...sonic_lost_world_3ds-5-1.jpg

Dice on the actual frozen level? Wow.

sonic_lost_world_3ds-17-1.jpg

sonic_lost_world_3ds-18-1.jpg

sonic_lost_world_3ds-20-1.jpg

3D BURST?! AWW YEAH! I wonder if it will controll like the Grey Quake, with the shake sensor and stuff like that.

No doubts this version will not be a watered-down version of the Wii U, this is just as good as the Wii U version in almost every aspect, incluiding level design (yes I did just say that).

OFF-TOPIC: THIS GAME LOOKS AMAZING, LOOK AT THOSE GRAPHICS (well it doesn't mean much but whatever)

EDIT: LASER! (Gotta love that amazing-looking crystals)

Lost World 3DS was probably made to tie in with the Lost World Wii U. I highly doubt they actually had years of development with the 3DS version like the Wii U version. This is painfully obvious for me with the builds being shown with low framerates, bugs, glitches, and awkward transitions. It's almost a repeat of what Generations 3DS went through. Just look at the work done with the Wii U version and compare it with the 3DS version. Compare the scale of the games and then tell me both had 2 years of development with a straight face.

The transitions don't look as bad as before, and i doubt LW 3DS will turn out like that much of a repeat of Generations 3DS. That would be awful.

"I was a bit worried with how the 3DS version has been turning out. Some of the levels have been very basic and flat compared with the Wii U counterpart. " Excuuuuse me? VERY BASIC AND FLAT? Even in comparison with the Wii U counterpart, the level design it's not flat, nor basic AT ALL. Save Windy Hill (just because you can't go underneath the level, but it's still epic), all the stages shown at the moment are just as good as the Wii U stages when it comes to level design. You should at least thank it's not another Sonic Rush clone.

In what I'm agree with you is that's it's cool to see more open levels. It's good to polish some details, too, like the framerate (which I think this time is higher and more stable), better transitions (the old one was cool but the new ones look better) and adding voices to the gameplay.

EDIT: Dunno what happened with the white letters up there.

Cobanermani just got his hands on the 3DS version at PAX and got to spend some time with it. According to him, the control is really lose and slippery. :( I started to have high hopes for the 3DS version, as it's the version I plan on buying, but my excitement is waning quite a bit, to be honest. I know it's just one person's thoughts on the game, but looking at the footage, it's pretty easy to see why he's going as slow as possible. Hopefully some of the control issues will be touched up on a bit before release.

Found an interesting impressions/opinions video about the 3DS version of the game and how it controls.

EDIT: Sorry, posted at the same time as Chaos so I didn't see him post the same thing.

Honestly I've seen other people in playthrough who didn't move around as much as he was moving. Especially in the snowboard section he was swerving way to much. I guess its up to actually playing it yourself to give final verdict

I think he might have been a bit too speedy and wanted to run a bit too much, but at the same time ever since the first footage of Windy Hill (3DS) was released on IGN, to me it looked like the 3D controlled terribly. I didn't want to judge it though just by footage, but when this video was released it's just made me feel like the 3DS version's controls will actually be terrible.

Well, if some authors heard Cobanermani's opinions, I think they would be quite disagree.

"Sonic himself controls and animates well. His movements aren’t slippery like in adventures past and it all feels quite natural." -Scott MacDonald, Operationfall.com

"While it is easy to dismiss the 3DS version as a downgrade or lesser version at first glance, the demo's impressive 3D visuals, interesting level design, and surprisingly responsive controls left me more impressed by the portable entry than its console sibling. Sonic handles surprisingly well: I found it easy to change directions to maneuver around obstacles and pits, even when running. In the Wii U demo Sonic felt somewhat loose and easier to over-steer, but I had no such problems when playing on the 3DS." -Michael "YTP" Cole, Nintendoworldreport.com

Even though I haven't played the any of the versions, I don't think the controlls are that slippery. In all the gameplay videos I've seen, Sonic actually looks really easy to controll and it doesn't looks really slippery, but hey! those were just Cobi's thoughts, everyone can have different opinions =).

>.> Why do people fail at the 3DS Version so much, ITS NOT THAT HARD. He cant say Sonic's controls were slippery either, in Frozen Factory he was probably just nervous about the snowboard, & there was ice on the ground in that stage so dont blame it on the game. 2nd of all Desert Ruins Zone 1 isnt even that hard, & Ik im not the person playing the game, but I feel like people could do better.

I just came up with, if your Right Handed use the L button to speed up, if your left handed use the R button to speed up. The game is fine, its just the players
