Unpopular opinion: I actually like the Werehog battle music. I thought it was pretty catchy. Plus, I kinda like jazz so yeah. Yeah, it was kinda repetitive and it did get annoying hearing it interrupt the stage music, but I still liked it.

-Sonic Generations is lacking in Classic Sonic gameplay.
I agree with this. It was great playing as both Classic, and Modern, both having certain traits and abilities that differ widely, however, I believe that more could have been done with Classic Sonic (CS). CS only gets one boss battle, and one rival battle, while Modern Sonic gets 2 Rival battles and 2 Boss battles. I think if they added more content to the gameplay for CS, they could have made up for it. Don't get me wrong, I loved Sonic Generations, and its gameplay, but I feel that more could have been done.

Unpopular opinion: Most of the alternate gameplay (sans Big and sometimes Amy) in SA1 were pretty fun to play.

Increasingly unpopular opinion: I liked Color's dialogue.

Middle Opinion: I don't hate the dialogue, but I wish more of it had been used to help advance the plot, as opposed to just cheap gags.

I think Sonic Heroes is better then people say it is. While the dialogue and story might be a bit corny (except for Team Dark), I think Heroes is better that Sonic Adventure 2. I like the team mechanic and the levels are pretty creative.

If by "except for Team Dark" you mean "especially for Team Dark."

While I don't outright hate Sonic Heroes, I wouldn't call it better than SA2.  It felt much slower yet still managed to find a way to make you slide all over the stage.  The designs for the actual levels were good, though, and I do like that Tails isn't in a mech the whole game.  Plus, in my opinion, the soundtrack was a lot more diverse and a lot more pleasing to the ear.  That's just personal preference, though.

In contrast, even from my first playthrough of the game some years ago, Sonic Heroes was and remains to this day, one of my least favorite Sonic games of all time, gameplay wise, although it's quite down there for some of the non-gameplay stuff (plot comes to mind). The team gimmick never really sat well with me. Even from the first few levels, I honestly cannot remember any time I have enjoyed playing as the flying characters, as normally I'm either encouraged to play as speed or power characters, except for context-specific moments, like large gaps and all. In regards to playing the game, the flow is somewhat consistent throughout the first half of the game, but that flow is heavily slowed down throughout the latter half which sees harder-to-kill enemies and what not. I mean, the enemies are quite hard to kill, but the problem is, for me at least, it created difficulty, but at the same time, heavily reduced the flow of the level, especially seen in levels like Final Fortress, regardless of its final level status. These flow breaking sequences are amplified especially in the later Team Sonic and Dark stages. I wasn't too fond of the Chaotix missions either, particularly the amount of frustration I went through going through those "Kill X Enemy" missions (Grand Metropolis and its 85 enemies is probably the worst offender for me in this regard). And lastly, I've never liked the Special Stages in this game. It's easy enough to get into them (Team Rose FTW), but the actual special stages annoyed me to no end. I definitely had fun spamming the crap out of the boost button (no sarcasm here, I actually had some enjoyment out of this), but at the same time, the obstacle placement, as well as how easy it is to get stuck running on the ceiling ultimately made these special stages a real chore for me, especially considering that they were required to get to the final boss, which admittedly, was actually pretty fun (the Super fight, at least).

TL;DR The first half of the game is okay, the second half is downright tedious, the special stages are a massive chore, and I disliked going through the Chaotix stages.

Unpopular: I don't care for Starlight Carnival's music aside from the map theme, holy shit that is ravetastic.

Unpopular (?) opinion: I don't care for Starlight Carnival in general, man that level is boring.

Actually, me either. Too much doing bugger all and 4 gimmick acts. Sweet Mountain, Planet Wisp, Aquarium Park and Asteroid Coaster, for example, are much more balanced.

Unpopular opinion: I prefer Aquarium Park to Planet Wisp and wish that was the chosen stage in Sonic Generations. 8(

I dunno, I liked Aquarium Park the most but I felt Planet Wisp was most representative of Colours overall, and I considered it the perfect choice. It was mainly an issue of execution really, but I think people exaggerate how weak the Generations version is if I'm honest. Most of the issues were of too much 2D and wisp spamming, which may not have been any better in a Generations Aquarium Park remake if there were no 3D water sections anyway...

Pretty sure the stages that were picked for Generations are basically the ambassador stages of their respective games- the ones people merely remember the most regardless of in-game quality. Planet Wisp was pretty much everywhere from a marketing standpoint, and people love the music a lot, so it was the natural pick.

Speaking of which, I still stand by my initial reactions to Generations' level list that better stages for Generations could've been picked in general, and that the wide range of stage tropes weren't taken advantage of to the fullest. The only ones I really agree with are as having needed to be there are Green Hill and Chemical Plant.

And City Escape, there's literally no other level from SA2 worth putting in, or at least none as iconic as City Escape.

Radical Highway and Metal Harbor are top contenders, and I wouldn't have felt bad if either one were chosen over City Escape.

I was actually really shocked we got Chemical Plant, I was totally expecting Casino Night for the HD version, I didn't think Chemical Plant would have been considered as "iconic" considering how many more casino remake levels we've had. I was also surprised to see Sky Sanctuary as I was positive we were getting Ice Cap (though I would have wanted Hydrocity personally). Oh well.

I was so fucking happy to have Speed Highway though, I loved the original and wanted to see a newer shinier version for literally years, and then we got it and I was like HNNNNNNNG. And Crisis City, nice to take something from 06 and make something worthwhile of it!

I think it was either a case of having the iconic levels from each of the games, or having some iconic levels and other less iconic ones for the variety, as cities, factories and greenery levels are typically the most popular and iconic.

Well, maybe Final Rush or Green Forest, maybe even the Chao garden could have been redone and put into Sonic Generations.

Despite being an excellent level Seaside Hill was a really shitty choice in comparison to Heroes' colorful, imaginative, and colorful levels.

Hang Castle? Grand Metropolis? Casino Park? fucking Egg Fleet!?!? Nope. What a waste.

I'm just a bit put out by the fact that quite a few of Generations' stages are city-themed, which takes away from the sense of variety. Still, the way Generations fantastically recreated all of the stages is one of the things I really love about it.

Also, I kinda wanted either Dragon Road or Cool Edge for Unleashed representation, mainly the latter because ice stages just seem necessary for the kind of anthology thing. Twinkle Park also would've been a fun pick- despite not being as iconic as Speed Highway- because it fills the casino/carnival trope really well and has go-karts. Frankly I think the level I was happiest with being represented was the Sonic vs. Shadow 2 boss, because For True Story is my favorite song from SA2's soundtrack. xP

I still think Rooftop Run made perfect sense as a stage choice for unleashed. The only issue with that pick was that we already had a fair amount of city tropes already in the game.(which I personally would Have changed. Twinkle park,Metal harbor an KIngdom valley instead of speed highway, city escape and Crisis City.)

Mushroom Hill for 3DS was a terrible choice though, just another S&K stage compared to what 3 could have had. Hydrocity, Ice Cap, Carnival Night, even Launch Base? Or if we must pretend Sonic 3 doesn't exist, how about Flying Battery or Lava Reef?

Water Palace was a pretty weird one as well, but Back 2 Back is the favourite song I guess and they needed a water level.
