Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing

We can probably expect Metal Sonic not too far from now. I mean, it seems like people are pretty upset about this whole debacle. I'd be guessing sometime next week, but who knows?

That's my guess as well.

With regards to things that we've asked S0L for .

Custom Cars: S0L Said that it would have been in, but it would have required an extra 2 years of developement time.

Wii DLC: Again, S0L has said it's not viable due to the restrictions on the Wii, specifically, how you have to set up a seperate system to distribute DLC.

Online PC Support: That ship sailed a long time ago, it's not happening, I can't see how they could justify the cost to put it in now against potentialy units sold, it wouldn't be many at all.

Home Avatar Support: This is Sony's call I think, I doubt it's going to happen.

PS3 characters as DLC: As much as we all want it, lol and this actually did a lot better than I had thought According to this interview all Sony sudios were busy... hmmmm not sure if thats changed since then, but I'm not sure Sony would let fans of sega work on their IPs.

Showtime Events: Well... there was going to be this mode, but it was scrapped a long time ago so I doubt it's that.

What else is there? Well....

1970's Trousers mode: Now... I know you guys think I'm crazy, but.... all things considered... we've had hints that it's not characters or tracks/something not to get too too excited over, so I can't see it being characters or tracks. it's something that a fan has asked for... IT'S GOTTA GO IN!

Well... actually there are two other things which might be a high possability....

1: There was an old interview here in which S0L Says that they'd love to do a fighting game. Also, going back to SOS 09... there was the following... "VectorMan, a Phantasy Star Online track, Axel from Streets of Rage driving the SWAT car (which Steve notes "would be awesome"),"

2: Music Pack DLC. This was something requested early on by a lot of people, both PS3 owners and Xbox 360 owners, whilst it may sound daft since the 360 version has custom soundtracks, thats provided you own the music (legally) This could be something that fans could work on, whats the best music that goes with the various courses.

I really doubt it would be long before the Metal Sonic and Death Egg DLC come back, it would be a bit cruel to make us wait all the way until next month. :P

I'm surprised that two songs from Shadow the Hedgehog were chosen for a retro track, but I guess Cosmic Fall does fit. Also, surprised about the lack of Genesis-era music. The General Offensive song is from Sky Deck (the second part) for the people that didn't know.

When I first saw Metal Sonic riding the Metal Booster I thought he was riding a badnik for a split second there! Reminded me of the discussion about the idea of Mecha Sonic riding Motobug...

According to the Nintendo Channel I've already logged a bit over 84 hours on this game! That makes it my 5th most played Wii game overall (RB2, Brawl, Mario Kart Wii, and Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games are the top 4) and the second most played Sonic game. I got ASR on the Saturday of the week it was released. Not bad Sumo! :P

I'd like additional music very much, mostly for the Sonic series in particular. They've done a pretty good job at getting a wide variety of tunes (almost had a heart attack when I saw "Super Sonic Racing"), and would very much love to have more included. "Stardust Speedway (Present) (US)" and "Westopolis" would shut me up ;) .

Hopefully he can respond to the possibility of this, as this personally ranks as high as DLC characters and tracks for me. I love my tune-age :P .

There is of course another thing it could be, but this would be a BIG ask.

Remember the competition to design a racer for ASR? The one that AAUK sorted out? What if a couple of those are getting put into the game.... unlikely... but what a moment it would be.

You know, I posted something that you folks overlooked that was a HUGE hint of what I do. The hint is located on the page whose sum of the numbers equals 11. No more as I'll be breaking NDA territory >_>

Easy, page 452.

You've only made 24 posts lol.

No probs.

By the way, I play a mean solo.

It's music isn't it. Drums, your picture montage had drumsticks on it. Normal drumsticks, chicken drumsticks

In that picture I spy with my little eye, two drumsticks, and chicken DRUMSTICK.

This would be a drum Spiral.

With regards to the orangutan, either it's a nod to orangutan music, or it might be a tiny misleading hint to

However I'm thinking more of the cadbury advert since I imagine you're from the UK in order to be working closely with Sumo who are also UK based. Edited by Casanova

Yeah, right now it sounds like it's gonna be music. But still, it makes me wonder what's with all that other random stuff in the picture? What's a toilet, froggy's eye, a small guy next to a cup, a facepalming monkey, etc. gotta do with music? It's gotta be some crazy song/songs if all those are included in the lyrics. @_@

Music or something for solo mode?

A new grand prix maybe?

Now that I think about it, we'll probably get a new grand prix consisting of all the DLC tracks once they're all released.

Looks like the hint is about music. Maybe the facepalming monkey means more Sonic R music because the lyrics for the most part are a bit strange! lol a guy can dream. :P

facepalming monkey, etc. gotta do with music?

For some reason I think that the orangutan might be a curveball to the cadbury's advert. It was amazingly popular in the UK, it was a gorilla that played the drums to a Phill Colins song.

The other things, I'm not sure of, for some reason I think that old toilets used to have a part in them called 'the drum' but not sure on that one. The strange L thing.... At first I wondered if it was a musical note... then I thought Symbol.... Symbol... drum symbols.

But I'm a bit tired now so I'll leave the rest to everyone else.

xDDD I hate to admit it, but Dreadicus Knoximus has nothing to do with the project I have in store-- I just let it slide since it's April First. Sorry guys! Nothing he's said has been true, except he can play a mean solo ;P

Aww, that sucks.

On the other hand, I keep seeing Silver in that blurred shape. Sure as hell looks Hedgehoggy.

That was a mean prank XD

So the blurred pic and the ASR DLC project you worked on are still real Aptivita?

EDIT:

ProjektCrimAcad at SEGA Forums posted the blurred pic upside down saying it looks like a fish and he/she's right

MAGIKARP CONFIRMED!!

Shame he is owned by Nintendo who can't do large DLC like this, SEGA need more fish characters in their games. Guess there's always Seaman on Dreamcast -

Call me crazy, but I'd love a simple Cameo DLC pack.

A download that adds lesser known/cult classic Sega characters as spectators to tracks. It would be a lot less work on Sumo's part to have to create a load of racers, and would probably be easier to get past Sega. For example, they could work in Sir Pepper without having to convince Sega to pay them for all the time to develop a racer, ASM and all the animations. Either a pack, or Sumo could continue to drop a cameo into each upcoming DLC track.

Ecco in Whale Lagoon would be awesome. Leaping just off to the side of the finish line or doing tricks over the track like the orca.

Yeah, Ecco could always do what the dolphins do in Sonic Adventure at the end of Emerald Coast (at 2:26) -

Just been reading a few posts mostly about people saying about they want music DLC for the game and to be quite honest that would be a total waste of money, I see no point for it if you own the Xbox 360 version you can play what song you want though the custom soundtracks with your iPod,MP3 player,PSP or songs from your hard drive, i'm not sure if you can do custom soundtracks on PS3 though (I don't own a PS3 so i won't really know XD) but it will be a total waste of money just to get music DLC while you can already play for free via your iPod or hard drive while playing the game

The PS3 does have custom soundtracks. I already suggested that instead of giving us music DLC that Sumo should just release a patch for the PS3 version so that it'll work with custom soundtracks.

I can't believe I've only JUST thought to check Metal Sonic's profile in the game. Here's a pic of it I've just taken, sorry about the crappy DSi quality and the light reflecting from my window, my curtain is broken XD
