Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing

So I guess more than one track based off a single area confirmed?

Casino Night is a new one, too. If every area has multiple circuits, then it'll be an easy way to shoehorn in some more fan favorite levels.

So far there's...

Forgotten Falls

Green Hill

Seaside Hill

???

<Sonic casino area>

Casino Park

Casino Night

???

...brilliant! I wonder what those third levels are. I'd like to see Turquoise Hill and Neon Palace, but something tells me Sumo went for levels far less obscure.

All I have to say is fuuuuuuu....

So much for variety. (although Mario Kart has always been guilty of the "Circuit 1,2,3,4,5...")

You crazy.

Green Hill

Seaside Hill

I call that variety.

No, no, no Hunter, they've confused Seaside Hill and Bingo Highway with classic stages, I suppose it's an easy mistake to make if you don't really pay attention to the series =\

I really like the fact that there's gonna be more than one track based on a certain theme. Just as long as they don't use this as an excuse to artificially increase the amount of tracks with recycled themes.

That new preview (held at SEGA Europe) reveals a release date of Feb 10th but that's a Wednesday and games are normally released on a Friday over here. Oh well, I'm not going to complain :D

I'm surprised that some are so disappointed that the weapons are seemingly not from Sega games. Why not let SASAR have a bit of its own identity? Let Sumo have a little creative freedom to make a few unique weapons (bowling bomb, etc.). Hell, when one thinks about it, the all-star moves are weapons themselves and are directly inspired by the characters who perform them. Also, the sneaker (sonic) and the green boxing glove (super monkey ball) are direct from Sega games.

People jus' wanna hate.

Yeah, was surprised they didn't recognise the boxing glove. You can already predict the hate filled reviews for this game, I think the guys at Sumo Digital are doing a great job at fan service and I like their own unique weapons. What do they want Sumo Digital to do, have no originality at all? If they did nothing original they'd go and complain then that there's nothing unique that sets it apart <_<

They complain about the lack of items derived from the Sega franchise, but yet fail to recognize the two that are? Xbox360Achievements.org srsly needs to step up their game here. I am disappoint.

Considering the main purpose of the site is to archive Achievements I don't really think their journalism skills need to be perfect.

I also remember seeing a Lightning shield aka thunder barrier from S3&K, a colorful capsule filled with balls (a Shenmue capsule toy or a Monkey Ball item?), a rocket missle (a common video game convention, often found in Sonic) and a tether/grappling hook. Also, there are orange road cones which, if I remember, were in Sonic R and just about any Sega racing game.

Let's also not forget the environmental hazards and weapons including badniks, eggs and falling rocks. These are all direct from Sega games.

Again, haters just wanna hate. As a Sonic fan I am pumped for this game, and as a Sega fan I'm double pumped.

I think that one's the pic for AiAi's All Star move which see's 3 other Monkey Ball character's in their balls roll everywhere hitting the other racers. The big ball would be AiAi's and the 3 balls inside in the pic the other 3 monkey's.

Ah! Okay, so All-Star moves have character specific icons. That explains Knuckles having an M.E. icon for his move, and Sonic having a circle of chaos emeralds. Well there we go, roughly 20 Sega game weapons!

According to this video:

Aiai's all-star move icon is a banana. The balls inside a ball icon was taken from a video of Sonic racing, so it must be a different weapon that we haven't seen yet. oooooo! :)

Yet another Sega-related weapon:

Is that supposed to be a badnik, like the pirrahnas from Sonic? Or from something else entirely?

Put's Sonic 2 in the Genesis console

Turns on the game

Press button start

Commence in Green hill

Stops in front of the Bridge at the begining of the of the Zone

Watches the Pirrahna's jumps

Compare's with the SASR items....

Way Past Cool~

ERROR!

Aside fro that, I think that it's an original badnik design cause I don't recognise it from any other game.

This weapon appears to be a mish-mash of several different piranha badniks featured within the Sonic the Hedgehog series, and not just one in particular. Most notably based off of Piranha (Chop Chop), Bata-bata (Chopper), and Pirani.

Oh, I don't know what that other icon could be then. Perhaps the Shenmue thing you mentioned.

The piranha badnik is like a homing missile if I remember correctly from the SoS demo, that's why they have an antennae. I agree that they look like a mixture of all the piranha badniks from the series.

LOL @ HunterTSF's 'Not pornography of Sonic' folder.

It looks to be the head of Chopper:

With the tail of Jaws:

Doctor Eggman, could you like not triple post please.

I had thought these boards automatically combined posts that were made one after another.

I *THINK* that's the rocket they use to blast Eggman into space in a Sonic Shuffle minigame (who's name I can't remember), but it looks like they've replaced the cage Eggman is kept in with a checkered pattern.

It might just be a rocket being a rocket, but I found the Shuffle video with the rocket that you were talking about:
