Conclusion: It's just stock art and they'll get new art later, or the World Tournament is of dubious canonicity because they couldn't be bothered to update all the designs. Could go either way.

Apparently there isn't coding in BW indicating that the Kamis have new formes, which there was for Kyurem. This makes me wonder if the Sacred Beast Formes are a response to the criticism the Kamis got for being "recolours" - and let's face it, it was a fair criticism. They now have more of an individual identity. I'm quite happy with them only being in the AR Searcher (for now).

In response to all other revelations, I'll only say that I'm really liking this sequel approach to the old third version. I hope Gamefreak do something like this for future generations - and I think they probably will, as I get the impression they're trying hard to make different versions more distinct from one another than they used to be to justify having multiple games at all.

Agreed. This is definitely shaping up to be the best pokemon game of all time. Gamfreak is really going to have to be at the top of their game if they want Generation 6 to top this.

Agreed because this needs emphasis.

Black and White are my least favorite Pokémon games ever. They had several neat enhancements, such as infinitely reusable TMs, but for every improvement it had, it also took some steps back. The exp. system is only really useful for quickly evolving weaker Pokémon to fill your Pokédex. There was nothing to do in the post-game; the towns in the east side of Unova had nothing eventful, and I don't count finding all the remaining Team Plasma sages an event - they were glorified TM hunts and you got nothing else out of it in turn. The lack of normal rebattles is terrible and going into the sports stadiums everyday is just not as fun. Another complaint I had during my second playthrough was that the new Pokémon don't nearly have as diverse of a movepool this time, so it was very hard choosing what combination was best for me. I'm really glad about the expanded regional Pokédex because I think my team is going to almost entirely consist of pre-Gen5 Pokémon this time around.

At the same time all these complaints I have only make me hope that BW2 is better in every single way imaginable. The first games had a lot of improvements that I hope stay with the series for good (but knowing Game Freak, who wants to bet that they'll just get rid of them like they do for every nice thing they introduce), so I really hope they put them to good use in the sequel this time. Unfortunately I doubt that they'd get rid of the exp. system at this point, but things such as an empty post-game just have no excuse.

All the enhancements in the world don't mean a thing if I don't have fun during the ride while I am at it. Exploring a new region is always a magical experience, but I had the least fun with Unova's. And once you beat the game, you might as well just say you're done. There wasn't anything substantial to keep me hooked like previous Pokémon games did. But to be honest, all my negativity toward BW1 makes me hopeful, not pessimistic, that BW2 will be much better games. So yeah, despite my initial shock reaction being "I wanna shoot myself in the head" since I really did not want to revisit Unova, I have to say I am looking forward to these games, if cautiously so.

And give me my run button back. Every time I bring up this complaint, people tell me that BW/HGSS were developed by different teams. Well this time, there is no reason not to include it. I gotta go fast wanna run all the time without holding down the B button; is there any point where I would not want to go faster? Except for those sand pits in the desert relic dungeon.

I hated the story, too.
