Sonic and SEGA All-Stars Racing Sequel in the works!

I have to remain somewhat doubtful about these tracks, if only cause they're such utter pants. Not only are two of them painfully similar to ASR1, all three of them JUST appeared in Generations. It'd be really lame if they do turn out to be the Sonic choices. I don't know how anyone can defend them by saying they're different enough. Chemical Plant perhaps, but not the others. SSH and Casino Park were even designed to more closely resemble GHZ and CNZ in the original. If you really want to keep the Green and Pinball tropes that badly, surely more distinct ones like Angel Island, Mushroom Hill or Windmill Isle and Collision Chaos, Spring Yard or Carnival Night would be better choices? I dunno. Seeing as Sonic would be my main draw to this game, the expected stage selection is woefully disappointing.

Huh, what tracks? They've revealed the tracks for Sonic already?

The game hasn't even been announced. If you read the past few posts, you'd see that there are some ASR branded toys coming out this years featuring Green Hill, Casino Night and Chemical Plant. While it confirms nothing, it's ground for very safe speculation. Generations' stage list was leaked in the exact same way.

No, the toys in ASR2 Mentions the names of it, that it could be our possible tracks in its sequel. But, it majorly depends.

I don't mind the tracks so far... Green Hill or a clone of some sort is almost a given, and Casino Night is very different from Casino Park in my eyes. Casino Park is more flashy and futuristic while Casino Night has a laid back Las Vegas vibe that I just adore. The version in Generations HD was such a tease.

I think they have/will avoid adding multiple characters from the same series, without just putting them in the passenger seat like the Bonanza Bro's, Chu Chu's, Jacky/Akira and Zobio/Zobiko etc.

I can think of:

- Bayonetta.

- Gilius.

- NiGHTS.

- Ristar.

- Chuck D. Head.

- Shinobi.

- Altered Beast.

- Axel & Blaze.

- Bruno from Dynamite Cop.

These guys were also mentioned:

- Toejam & Earl.

- Segeta Sanshiro.

P.S. Banjo-Kazooie for ASR2.

I really hope that all star moves are added to Online. That really killed some of the excitement for me.

As for a story mode. It's not needed although i would like maybe a introduction when you firsts play it. Like flip-book style cutscenes. With subtitles instead of voices. For example:"It's a beautiful day here at the Sega race dome! Some of the best well known Mascots have come To test there Race skills and win the title as All star racer! Among these Racers are Sonic the hedgehog! Dr. Eggman! Beat! Nights! Toejam and Earl! Alex kidd! Ulala! And Amigo! Lets get this All star race started!" An introduction like that would be cool.

Green Hill, Casino Night, Chemical Plant, all from Generations HD if you count the models made for the pinball minigame. Perhaps they plan on reusing Generations assets, minus the Hedgehog Engine global illumination effects? (Or, even better, use the Hedgehog Engine to give the sequel a big graphical boost, assuming it can handle split screen and all that)

Well, so far, the only thing that seems depressing is what Hydro said. All of them just appeared in Gens HD. Well, there could be more Sonic representation, so we could still get some newer stages here.

Looks like things got more interesting while I was at work. I look forward to seeing race track takes on Green Hill, Chemical Plant and Casino Night/Casino Street (whichever it turns out to be). Would be nice to have different tropes, but oh well.

So... anyone want to point out how we're getting a JSR HD remake... who also was an original ASR character? Not to mention recent House of the Deads that got a PSN release? Also an ASR representation...

Do I need to mention the Shenmue 1, 2 & 3 rumours? Or shall we assume that not only is Ryo back but he might have a track this time around?

I'm actually going to be surprised that they didn't try and use stages from Colors or Unleashed if this is the only sonic representation. Those would have been so unique and cool to drive through!

This article says that the Meccano sets are due out this Autumn.

http://www.mcvuk.com...es-surge/091967

Wonder if that means we'll see the game release then.

Actually, that reminds me, I had an email from Meccano regarding the release date of their toys, they said they would be out in October.

If the game will be though is another question, since toy release dates and game release dates can be out by a while.

Orbot and Cubot should be the announcers for the game instead of a generic voice! Who agrees?

If there's some kind of very light mash-up story, then they could commentate during cutscenes. But to have them actually commentate the gameplay I imagine would be very annoying, in contrast to the announcer from the original who was quite fun to have on.

Seeing as how they already have the engine from the first game there really is no excuse for repeated stage tropes this time around. I can live with those three Sonic stages provided there are other less 'taking assets from Generations' stages to go with them.

Also PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't use the Generations remixes of the music for those stages, Modern Chemical Plant Zone is EAR RAPE.
