Sooo, I just watched Panty and Stocking. The first half I found to be quite funny.

The second half?

The second half of episode 3 was the dirtiest yet! Episode 2 was dirtier than episode 1, and 3 is dirtier than 2, am I the only one seeing a pattern?

As other people have said, second half of episode 3? Ew.

There's a fine, fine line between 'crude' humour and just plain vulgar. I'm fine with the former- the second half of episode 2 was perfect in that sense, to me. Yes, it was crude- Panty had been in a porno before and had to go around destroying all copies of the film. It's crude, but it's funny, and used in a good context. A whole story based on sperm, half of which is from said sperm's point of view, just treads a bit too close to that line for me.

First half was funny though, yeah. I personally like the show best when it stays within those kind of boundaries, being fairly edgy and crude without ever stepping too far into vulgar. As such, episode 2 is still my favourite.

Now, regarding recent Naruto Shippuden episodes... oh god.

They're clearly 'experimenting' with a new way of inserting filler into the series, and it's, to put it nicely... awful. Since the current point in the plot is a bit too close-knit to what comes next for them to put in a flat-out filler arc, they're instead opting to show about five minutes of canon plot per episode, interrupted by a barely-relevant "OH HAY GUISE DO YOU REMEMBER THE TIME WHEN...?" and inserting random retconned Part One (pre-Shippuden) filler in the form of flashbacks.

Not only do most of these inserted-retcon flashbacks blaspheme against the plot proper (next week's episode looks particularly bad for that), but the fact they're showing minimal canon material in the episodes as well means you can can't even dismiss individual episodes entirely as 'filler' and just skip them outright. Pierrot, if you're going to do bad filler, at least make it skippable for subsequent watches.

Also, yay. Digimon Xros Wars is back from a four-week break. This week's episode was a little average, but eh. Bit annoying that now we finally have lyrics for We Are Xros Heart (epic insert song), they cut it short and don't even get to the chorus. Ah well, the full version is out to listen to, anyway.

Which reminds me, I never even noticed how much I like the soundtrack to this anime.

Yeah, it's by one of the members of m-flo. It was what got me initially interested in the anime, apart from the art style. I wonder if that FLY AWAY song will show up on an OST, considering it samples another song.

So, I saw the Layton movie earlier, will probably watch the dub tomorrow.

Odd thing, though- my DVD player doesn't seem to like my copy of the movie. It freezes right after the initial copyright warning screen and what have you- yet it plays perfectly on every other DVD player, PC, laptop and DVD-enabled console in the house. At the same time, my normal player doesn't normally have issues- yet for some reason it just doesn't like the Layton movie. D:

Anyway, nice movie, liked it. It certainly captured the spirit of the Layton games, even if was a bit bizarre and over-the-top at times. Also, I couldn't help but laugh when I noticed Jiraiya's voice actor (Japanese) from Naruto starring in it as a secondary character.

I'm fairly sure he speaks in terms of the parts.

Episode 6 will be cutting that trend though, as the series will establish its main plot there supposedly, and it will be the first of 22 minute long episodes.

I just got finished watching episodes 2 and 3 of Panty and Stocking, and they really pushed the envelope with the second half of the 3rd episode. I have to admit, the soundtrack for this anime is really good too. That "Fly Away" song is very catchy.

So who wants Panty & Stocking to be dubbed for Adult Swim?

As awesome as that would be, I'd doubt it would happen without some of the material being toned down or cut altogether to avoid parent groups complaining.

The newest episode of, "My Little Sister Can't Be This Cute" was AMAZING. It really pushed itself out and even though 9 episodes to go it felt like a final episode and really propelled itself to being really high on my interest list and the main character is quite possibly one of the best male leads that I've seen in forever.

"You were in you sister's room, on your sister's computer, playing games about doing indecent things to you sister!?"

"And it was amazing!"

It was really cool how he was totally ruining his relationship with his father by claiming it was all his to save his sister's love for Eroges. XD

Seriously, you guys need to try the series.

I watched Kiki's Delivery Service again last day which also happens to be my favorite movie of all time.

Spirited Away is cool and all but I still think this is the best Hayao Miyazaki movie.

It's a toss-up between My Neighbor Totoro (To-to-ro~) and Spirited Away for me. Kiki's Delivery Service is most definitely a good movie, but it ended far too soon for my liking. And Kiki not being able to hear the cat ever again? Lame. Then again, Spirited Away's ending had something similar...

I liked Howl's Moving Castle the most of the Ghibli movies, though my favorite Miyazaki movie is actually Castle of Cagliostro.
