Forgive me if I sound too much like everyone else, but it's just a little odd seeing Dimps make a handheld version of Generations yet only use two levels from their own game. This might be better if they used levels from Sonic Chaos, Triple Trouble, the Advance trilogy, and Rush Adventure along with Green Hill, Water Palace and Tropical Resort (or maybe different levels from the latter two.) And for rivals, Fang/Nack for the Game Gear era, Emerl/G-Mel for the GBA era, and Johnny for the DS era. Too bad they probably suffered from time and money constraints like every other game ever made, lol.

One of the videos posted I think it was nintendo world report shows High Flying Groove on the screen before a green hill mission is played so I guess it does

I don't think you even know what he is talking about....

Why are people saying the level design looks bland as if it's Dimps' fault?

Well being the developers,and game designers. I think they're somewhat held responsible.

They seemed to basically take the entire SA2 level and make it 2D with almost no changes,

Which is exactly the problem, they just copy-pasted it and put it in 2D, no attempt was even made to differentiate it from the original, that's the epitome of laziness.

not to mention the original Radical Highway wasnt all that great to begin with

So naturally we expected this one to be better and are expressing our disappointment.

So Cobanerman is doing a playthrough. It seems the opening explains the absence of other characters by simply saying Sonic got to the party before they got there.

I love the quality of that video but i hate fucking lets plays with a passon. if he could just re-do the playthrough without the commentary that would be great.

And the dialouge is almost word-for-word from the console version

I'm all for a good Let's Play every so often, but when you're basically the first person uploading decent-quality video of a game it's probably good manners to do a SKADOOSH-free playthrough first. I guess it's not really fair to look a gift horse in the mouth... I just want a relatively clean version of Supporting Me, dammit.

OK just finished the game. It was definitely pretty meh. 3DS coins for missions? you've got to be kidding me, they're pretty terrible too. I find it hilarious that Classic Sonic's physics are actually BETTER than the console version and that it actually has functional bouncing. Also funny how Classic Sonic pulled off the boost in the last cutscene, It would have raised so much hell and popcorn.gifs if they let classic sonic use boost after the game was done. Despite the stupid rival races, I also really like the boss battles in this game. How about from now on, Sega designs the levels and Dimps designs the bosses?

Dimps, use these physics for S4E2!

Again, I'm incredibly torn over this game.

On the one hand, it seriously lacks the kind of love and effort that was put into the console version, and the level design is obviously some of the laziest out there.

But on the other hand, gameplay for both Classic and Modern DOES look fairly solid, and it looks like there was some legitimate effort put into the composition of the overall package too (barring the level design, of course) and in some cases, it looks like Classic Sonic actually handles BETTER than the HD version, and the Modern Sonic sections look incredibly fun.

I don't know what to make of this game. I feel like I'm going to come to the same conclusion for this game that I did for Sonic 4:

The game is a combination of trying too hard and not trying hard enough at the same time.

So I found a relatively better quality version of the Biolizard fight. The music is much more audible and it's commentary free

Depends on where you live.

Around my neck of the woods, Sonic games usually sell out. Generations certainly did. I always have to preorder them just to make sure I get one. I couldn't get my hands on a copy of Sonic Heroes for weeks.... learned my lesson. (of course, that was before I was old enough to use the internet properly).

Sonic Heroes for PS2 was sold out at a Walmart my mom took me too because I begged for the game at the time, so...so yeah! ;A;

Had to wait a few extra days to get it again. ;w;

Ha amateur, I was so excited for owning my first Sonic game (not played, owend) that I put Sonic Heroes on reserve hold (well, my mom did). Ahh, memories

I love how people are making fun of Egg Emperor for not being a Dreamcast boss, despite Heroes really not being a Dreamcast game xD

Yeah, so shouldn't the HD version be criticized for making it a DC era game, instead of the one that actually got it right?
