    New Sonic Battle Screenshots Reveal New AI Character, 'Emerl'

    Below are screens from Sega Direct of the next Sonic Game Boy Advance adventure, Sonic Battle. Look below, you'll see a screen of what appears to be a new character playable. Looks to be some type of bot named "Emerl"?

    Some additional information can be found on the Sega Direct page, too. It says (in Japanese, this is machine translated), "you can use a variety of strategies when playing against friends. For example, you can hide from your opponent and recover secretly, set a mine behind a wall to damage your opponent, ambush your opponent and suddenly attack them..."

    We already knew that the game would include an AI battle partner, but we didn't know what it looked like or even if it was playable until now. If these screenshots are any indication, it looks like 'Emerl' will indeed be playable. He looks rather cool in the gold, don't you think?

    Emerl? Looks a tad Mega Man-ny. But I like. :smile_2003:

    I thought that the official art was bonkers when I first saw it - but it looks quite cool now. TSS is looking forward to this title with much anticipation. :amuse_2003:

    Hurrah for a Sonic fighting game that MAY make it into the UK! (oh and the US :blink1_2003:)

    The 3D arenas look really cool for a GBA game - I'm just hoping the game will be fun to play... curse Sonic the Fighters! :suspicious_2003: But that Emerl looks very suspicious. You may as well have MegaMan in the game.
