First Look: Sonic Battle

Finally the Sonic fighting game we've been waiting for, and it's on the Game Boy Advance. Sonic Battle uses a mix of 2D on 3D, kinda like how they made Sonic 3D Blast. The game takes place on several different arenas that may look a lot like old classic Sonic levels.

So far only four known characters are in Sonic Battle, along with four others and a secret character that can be unlocked. So far its known that Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Shadow will be playable, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. Before the battle you can choose which arena you wanna fight in, make the rules, customize your special attacks and then began the fight.

The game also includes a solo-story mode where you can develop your own AI fighting partner. Not sure if the story mode involves different stories for different characters but I doubt it'll be anything too fancy. There is also the option to link up GBAs using Game Boy Advance Link Cable for team battles, so 4 players can play at the same time using one-cartridge.

Sonic Battle might be released late 2003 in Japan and maybe America, expect a early 2004 UK release date.
