Because the 3DS is technically more powerful than the Wii.

I'm all over this as I'ld love a handheld version as much as a HD version. Though utter lack of Sonic 4 info is starting to rather concern me, will Episode 2 ever show? or has it become a huge write off or massively delayed so Dimps can deal with Generations 3DS?

If this turns out to be anywhere nears as high quality as it's HD sister, Generations 3DS could very well end up being listed as a "must have" title for the system. Now I'm just hoping it includes proper 3D gameplay like the HD versions, cause that would be AMAZING with the 3D slider pushed right up.

Ohh nice, it looks like Zelda's not the only thing for me to look forward to on the 3DS after all! It's good that the games are picking up. I don't want Dimps touching this, but it seems likely unfortunately D: I'd still buy the thing though. It'd be the only version I CAN get (unless the rumoured PC version is true and can run on my laptop).

I'm just curious what it'll look like. The 3DS is more powerful than the Wii, yes, but not powerful enough to handle the hedgehog engine. Should be good, though! I'm also waiting to see if they'll officially announce a PC version as well. I wonder if each version will have exclusive content...

Its a Sonic game. It will undoubtedly be one of, if not, the best looking game on the 3DS. SEGA have a habit of making really pretty games on Nintendo Consoles. Secret Rings, Black Knight and Colours all had brilliant visuals. I'm sure they'll continue the trend on the 3DS.

I am actually predicting a little less graphical port. According to Capcom, that is more than possible with 360 and PS3 titles. What they did with Street Fighter IV and according to them they even had a 3DS version of Resident Evil 5 working before they decided to go the two new games route.

The Lega Star Wars Trilogy is a port of the HD console version just less enhanced a bit.

I think it's quite possible this may be a less graphically relevant port for the handheld. Likely still looks great for a handheld, though.

DIMPS has been busy screwing up Sonic 4, I'd be surprised if they've also been working on Sonic Generations.

The 3DS is more powerful than the Wii...which is pretty LOL! I'm not really excited for this...The 'No Holds Barred' HD version will be the one I'll be playing a lot of anyway.
