And there goes Shadzter, stalking the internet for prices again. Nice job!

Gzoop, the Amazon seller, are fantastic. I got my copy of Kameo through them via Amazon. They sell stuff and cheap and don't waste time getting it to you.

Mahzes, return your copy if possible. You got ripped bad.

Ha ha! It shows what a cheapskate I am doesn't it? I know all the UK online retailers B)

Agreed with Blue Blood that you should return it if you can Mahzes, I don't think HMV are like GAME when it comes to returns so you should be fine hopefulyl.

Thanks for the info Shadz, Amazon just told me I won't get it until April. Screw them :3 I cancelled and just ordered from Zavvi. Hopefully I'll get it next week.

No probs, you ever want a price checking ask me  Zavvi are awesome, very fast delivery. Not had one problem with them ever.

Which boxart are we seeing in Britain? The top one with the BBFC rating makes sense if the Chronicles and 'History of Sonic' videos are included. Otherwise, did the PEGI rating come into play when those feature were apparently scrapped?

The BBFC rated box art is the one we've got here in the UK.

Still no sign of the extra features though.

Yeah, the PEGI one is on the box for the rest of Europe while UK got the BBFC rating. Seems odd to have the BBFC rating though if the bonus video content didn't make it to the final product.

So, the game definitely does make use of the DSi in some way. I think it's using some of the DS's updated hardware to make it run slightly better. Any Brits/Aussies/NZers got it yet?

IDK.. might be a region lock issue. As JAP versions of the game won't work on American DSi's. I doubt this game has any extra DSi features.

Just got this game today. it's good so far, but I've only played Sonic 1. I have trouble with the special stages alot...I can't seem to jump as often as I'd like to help me get an Emerald. Has anyone else noticed this problem?

No, not extra features. But the DSi has four times the RAM of previous models. And the main CPU is also twice as fast. This makes absolutely no difference for just DS games, because they clock the CPU at a certain speed, but games that make use of the DSi can use it to its full extent. That would make Classic Collection run better on a DSi than a DS.

See, I really can't be arsed to return it now. D: (Yes, I'm that lazy DX)

Also, even if I did, what am I going to do about getting another copy? I'm already playing it now. Hell, the fact I (begrudgingly) shelled out so much in the first place was because I wanted it on the day, if I'm going to have to be without it again for a few more days, that'll practically (in my opinion, anyway) negate why I shelled out extra in the first place.

I dunno, for me it doesn't seem worth the hassle of returning it (which might not be easy in itself, depending), then ordering and waiting for another copy, for the sake of £12. Although- I think I will at least pop into ASDA and HMV again next week; one, to see if ASDA have it and for how much, and also to see if HMV are still selling it at that price. If they've lowered it by then, I'll certainly be voicing a complaint and demanding they give me one of the ASR figures 8D.

I know, I'm an idiot and all. D: But if nothing else, I've made a vow to myself now- that I am never, ever, ever, ever going to buy any Sonic Mega Drive rerelease ever again, save of a full 3D remake. X3

I've learned from my mistake and you all can too! Don't be stupid like me, people! :D

Anyway, the extra £12 I paid shows how clearly stupid I am much EPIC AWESOME DEVOTION TO SONIC I HAVE. >:|

EDIT: My posts are OVER ONE THOUSAAAAAAND! *shot*

Fair enough, I suppose. It's certainly less stupid than purchasing two copies of Chronicles (one for the GAME tin and the other for the GameStop styli) and two copies of Rush Adventure. I had US one was on pre-order, but since the UK one came I first I bought that and the second one I got in the post went to my friend. That US copy of Chronicles is still factory sealed and sat on the shelf behind me.

It is a shame there's no CD (Heck, not even Mean Bean Machine or something as a little bonus) and of course they're not perfect ports, but for me, having the entire Sonic Quadrilogy on the DS is worth it (especially considering it's rather cheap for a DS title).

They could have, and really should have, stuck 3D Blast on there at least. Lacking CD is alright because the music would take up a lot, and Chaotix is never going see a release on another system. 3D is missing for no reason though.

If they added 3D, they probably would of effed it up so badly.

Jumping would have been delayed(Sega would do this, I promise) and there was this one stage that needed precise jumping to get platform to platform.

3D with Dpad? XD

Considering that SCC is just a emulator and some roms, they wouldn't have had anywhere to "eff" up. The d-pad control wouldn't have been too bad, and even so it would be a fault of the system not the game.

Got this today and it isn't too bad. It's better than playing the roms on my PSP. Also, It's probably been mentioned before, but they used the fake screenshot (Sonic standing with Knuckles during the Boss fight) on the back cover. Oh dear, oh dear.

Overall, a good purchase.

That screen made it to the back cover? What is it with SEGA keep cocking up back covers? Just recently they messed up the Wii and DS ASR back covers by stating there are “19 favourite characters” when they should say 20 like the PS3 and PC back covers. -_-

Well actually the Wii one should say 21, they got the Xbox 360 one right at 22.

I'd rather they cock up with misleading but often unnoticed screenshots than cock up with something as scary as the Sonic 3 European boxart. *shudders*

Has anyone watched the credits and noticed who's responsible for this DS collection? Yeah, Creative Assembly. Developers of the Total War series. =P

I still don't think it's worth £18, let alone £40. XD I tried playing a bit of Sonic 2 last night and fell through the floor going round the loop at the end of the first Act. I've been playing that game quite frequently since 1994 and have not experienced anything like that in Casino Night before. It's a shame new people are being introduced to the franchise via these inferior versions of the same games released two decades ago. =/

Clearly the Total War series is a side-project. All the effort that went into making the menu for this game must have eaten away at their time a lot.

Didn't you play the game with the d-pad on the Genesis and Saturn?

When you finish any of the games and watch the credits, the screen cropping becomes really noticeable in that some of the edges of the names are cut off. D:

Also, fail. Just finished Sonic 3 and was hoping to be able to simply carry on into Sonic and Knuckles via S3&K noticing my complete Sonic 3 save. The original cartridges did it, Mega Collection did it... Classic Collection doesn't.

See, whilst I'll admit there's little point to playing Sonic & Knuckles on its own, I prefer to play Sonic 3 standalone first, because plugging it onto S&K cuts out the last boss and makes a few minor in-game changes. Normally I just play Sonic 3 standalone then carry on into S3&K with the complete save. With Classic Collection it doesn't give that option, and you have to either simply play S3&K from the off, or in my case now, replay all the way through Sonic 3 as part of S3&K. >.<

They cut the air bubble GET sound effect almost in half in Sonic 1. Not sure about the other games. I like that effect a lot... :( but I won't let it dampen my excitement at, after so many years, being finally able to play Sonic on the go without having to import a NOMAD or go homebrew with a GP32x (even though that would deliver nigh-on perfect results).

Wait, what? I never knew it could do that.

Even with the original cart I don't remember my saves carrying over.

Also, too all the people saying "Get a Nomad" just about everywhere, this would have REPLACED my Nomad.

I'll give you a copy.... for your nomad. :P

How do you add slowdown to a 15-20 year old game on a more powerful system?

Rush job. Nice going Sega.
