The 52 Game Challenge 2015

Recommended Posts

Was hoping I could catch up to Ryan and try get to 52 games first but he is literally blazing it lol and I'm kinda falling back again on playing games mostly because of me playing smash wiiu and Mario kart 8.

But I'm currently working on a game which is DK 64 and holy crap its taking me a good while to finish it lol probably because I'm trying to get as much stuff done before I finish the game so then when I get back to it, there won't be that much to do.

Ive got some other games done tho I'm just lazy to post them right now.

Anyways nice job Ryan and others who are close behind.

Sorry for double posting, I honestly didn't expect to finish this game so quickly

Mega Man 7 - Capcom - SNES

Pretty good game, Mega Man's transition to the SNES was pretty smooth, and while it had some moments of bullshit, it was a good ride from begining to end, the shop was a great addition, and the Super Adaptor is pretty fun to use.

Also for the people saying the final boss is the hardest one in the franchise, ya'll suck, It was easy as hell :U

BTW, the picture here is a print from a Windows Media Player window, because I was recording it and my capture card can't record and take pictures at the same time, I can post the actual video if you need extra proof.

Oh and another thing, after checking the list, I realised you guys forgot to add Crash Bandicoot 1 to my list, I made a post about it a page or two ago :U

Fixed! You're good to go!

I'm actually planning on filling up the rest of my backlog in the summer so by the time High School starts I'll have 52 games done haha

Again, sorry for the annoyance.

Fixed it up. But that's awkward, for the past few hours it's not saving any of the changes I've made. Must had been why Megaman 7 and Crash did not appear.

Did you know that sometimes, things are better left in your memory? Now, I learnt that by beating this game yesterday, a game I used to play as a kid, something like 18 years ago.

Dead Nation Apocalypse Edition -- PS4 --- 100%

It's pretty much the PS3 version with the DLC and a much welcome update, frame rate is better, more effects, a lot more texture details.

If you liked the original or the Vita version, odds are you'll love this.

Back to the Future Episode 5 - TellTaleGames - PS3

I loved this game, goddamn, the ending had me laughing out loud, I got so hooked I didn't stop until I was done with this episode, literally, once I begun playing, I could't stop until it was all over, and man, what a blast, now I want to watch all those Back to the Future movies once I get the time.

Also I was fucking singing Gotta Go Back In Time at the end, love that song.

Updated. Also, added this little game whose existence was unknown to me 'till 3 days ago.

Justice League Heroes : The Flash, on Game Boy Advance

Q2Qv7ax.png

How appropriate for a game starring the fastest man alive to have been developed by a company called "WayForward".  And this high-speed beat-em-up is certainly another one of WayForward's hidden gems; for starters, the Flash in this game is obviously my favourite incarnation of the character, that guy called Wally West who seems to have disappeared from DC's radars, because Barry "I destroyed a good-enough timeline and now you have dark and gritty things because comics aren't supposed to have funny things" Allen is so freaking better.

Also, while being a little bit repetitive, I'm certain that a Flash fan would find it entertaining for what its worth.

Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time - Insomniac Games - PS3

This game is the perfect R&C game IMO, the graphics are beautiful, the idea of exploring galaxies and systems is wonderfully used here, meeting new species, about their cultures, learning about them, exploring their planets, the weapons here are all inventive and useful, save for one or two that I never used because I kinda forgot about them, the arena challanges are a nice time waster, the plot is fun and epic, the characters are all well- written, in ways you feel for them, and even someone like Qwark, who you'd be expected to hate for his character, gets to be enjoyable because well, while a complete moron, he isn't useless, he actually plays a big part in stopping Nefarious. And speaking of him, dear god, I love this guy, he's at his best here, the writting nailed his character in all the right spots. And the music, so epic, groovy and moody. This game is the best, hands down, and the controls are great and simple, even for something like R&C, I feel if you're a newcomer to the series, you'll have no problems playing this one, since the controls are easy and quick to addapt to.

And did I already mention how GORGEOUS it is? Yes? Well I'll say it again, this game is SO FUCKING BEAUTIFUL.

Question: Does Sonic 3 & Knuckles count as two games or one?

Question: Does Sonic 3 & Knuckles count as two games or one?

Preferably one. Episodic games are allowed to be count individually, but not expansion packs, which is what Sonic and Knuckles is. Since the full game is pretty much the Sonic 3 and Knuckles, then it should only count as one game.

Then I need a correction, I beat Sonic 3 as Sonic and Sonic & Knuckles as Knuckles, will I have to beat the full game as one single character or is this change allowed? Also I have Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles individually in my list.

Normally in most emulators/ports, Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles are separate from one another, so I guess that should be acceptable. I really don't know about the full "Sonic 3 & Knuckles"

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance

Ho boy. This is a game to play when your pissed. A far departure from MGS, this game is pure unadulterated badass. The sword mechanic is just amazing, the soundtrack is blood pumpingly good and it is just so cool. Thumbs up (even though I suck at it)

I don't know Klonoa, That sounds rather unfair. They are two separate games, just connected together. Same way Back to the Future The Game is 5 separate episodes that make up a whole game. It's unfair to make it only count as one game but let another person count it as two because of a very very very small thing. I mean you could easily just put Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles as two separate entries which are both 100% complete.

Speaking of which. I have an update.

Fairly Odd Parents: Shadow Showdown - (PS2, THQ Complete)

A game which many regard as meh, it's a very nostalgic game for me to be honest. There's some control issues yes, and it's a bit short, but for a Fairy Odd Parents game, which is a very off the wall show where anything can happen, I feel they did a good job with it. This was made in the prime era of Fairy Odd Parents. Before Season 4 and I think the only TV Movie at this point was Abra-Catastrophe. It's filled with references for fans of the show, from having the ape world from Abra-Catastrophe as a level, to having a variety of different costumes all based on episodes, it's a decent game in my opinion.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Taxman Remake (IOS) - 100% Complete

Being honest, this was the first time I completed Sonic 2, and after completing it. I've noticed something. I just really don't like the original 2 games. As for 3 & Knuckles, I'll talk about that in a little bit, but right now, I have a lot to say about Sonic 2.

Sonic 2 is regarded as one of the best Sonic games out there and I seriously disagree big time. The music, and the graphics are good for 16 bit, as always, but it feels like the problems of Sonic 1 are even bigger here.

Sega have included many more chances to get some speedy fun in the game but I feel that the stages are badly lay outed and just aren't worked correctly for this type of speedy gameplay, with bad enemy layout and traps, it's so easy to run straight into a enemy or straight into a bottomless pit.

To be fair, some zones are fun, like Casino Night, Emerald Hill and Chemical Plant but the majority of other zones get annoying quickly with it's level design.

Then it gets to Mystic Cave Zone where the game begins to feel like a complete endurance run in order to fuck the player up as many times as possible. Oil Ocean Zone feels like a total maze to figure out which direction at which height you need to go, Metropolis Zone is basically cheap enemies and cheap traps every which way, with Act 3 being a massive pain to go through,

Then you get a bit of fun with Sky Chase Zone but then Wing Fortress has some cheap bullshit around the stage as well, with bottomless pits (At least twice, I got to a section where you had to jump on timed platforms, only for the game to glitch twice, and two of the platforms didn't open, causing two separate deaths. Then Death Egg Zone has Silver Sonic and the Death Egg Robot with no rings whatsoever although I'll admit, they get easier once you learn their pattern down.

But then there's the fucking special stages and I fucking despise these things. You have to get 50 rings, attempt to survive with them without getting hit once until you get to another checkpoint which opens the special stage portal but then you get to this horrible special stage where the draw distance is total shit, it's very easy to keep running into bombs, and one or two bombs can completely fuck up your progress. It's absolutely awful. I don't care if Sonic Heroes is worse, it still doesn't excuse how bad these special stages are.

Now before I piss off even more people here, I'd better move to Sonic 3 & Knuckles which will hopefully make people at least a little more happy with me.

Sonic 3 & Knuckles - (Sonic Mega Collection Plus, PS2) -100% Complete

post-7129-0-96421100-1433112172_thumb.pn

After Sonic 2, I was worried that Sonic 3 & Knuckles wouldn't live up to the hype. The one game everyone regards as the best of the best, including many people here. They also regard Sonic 2 as the best even though I didn't like that. But Sonic 3 & Knuckles lived up to the hype and fucking delivered. It redeemed the Classic Sonic trilogy.

All my issues with the previous games was fixed. A save system was included so if you were killed, you didn't have to go back to square 1, the level design was better designed around Sonic's speed, and the elemental shields were so fucking useful. They also gave Sonic a cool little split second shield that helps against enemies when used right, and can even make bosses easier to defeat once mastered.

The graphics were even better than before, and the music was amazing. Listen to these fucking themes.

These songs are just brilliant throughout the game.

The extra skills Knuckles and Tails were granted were also so much fun to use and the level design was brilliant in that it allowed Knuckles and Tails to go on separate paths created designed to their own skills.

The game is also amazing by 16 bit platformer standards. The game is very long for these standards, and there's actually a lot more story, with Sonic & Tails going after Knuckles & Eggman, Knuckles being backstabbed by Eggman, only for him to go and help Sonic, and of course, the climatic final battle with Hyper Sonic Vs Death Egg Robot.

This game is amazing. Nothing else to say about it.

Tell yah what, I'm going to approach Tracker on this and we'll decide what we'll do regarding Sonic 3. Since you've already mentioned previously finishing the game, I'll let you hold on to the proof for it while I try to get clarification.

With that said, updated!

I've already updated my post with the finished game picture. I couldn't upload all three pictures in one post so I had to do two separate posts.

Edit: And since you've already updated, I'll get rid of the Sonic 2 and Fairy Odd Parents Pictures. I'll keep Sonic 3 in the post until you've decided what you're going to do.

Splatoon (Wii U)-Single Player campaign completed

https://miiverse.nintendo.net/posts/AYMHAAACAAADVHkIv49TjQ

This post is mostly about the single player, since it's like a game of its own, but first I'll say something about the multiplayer. Man is it refreshing for there to be a shooting game where K/D ratio almost means nil (certainly makes winning easier when you're up against players that would rather try to kill everyone rather than take territory). Anyway, the single player campaign was pretty good! It uses the squid form in creative ways that the multiplayer doesn't, each stage is really an obstacle course to overcome using ink trails and squid form. Now, the only gripe I have about it is the final boss. People were ranting and raving about it, but I'm not seeing it. The character itself was cool, but by the time he shifted into a 4th phase I was getting PRETTY TIRED OF HIM.
