What's the origin of your username?

I came to this website with a completely non-Sonic name and thought "hm... maybe I should change this" when I came back. I thought of every single Sonic move that existed until I remembered "Oh! The original name for the Spindash! Let's use that!"

And that's where it all began...

Akito is the name of the main character of the anime, Martian Successor Nadesico, whom I related to at the time.* (Even though my favorite character from the show is Ruri)  So one day, I decided to temporarily put it as my username.  Overtime, though, the name simply stuck with me and it began to feel proper to be addressed by it, so I kept it.  I'm a little too embarrassed to reveal my other internet names, though.

One of them was Dr. Cheese... so maybe had I kept that, I could have had a similar flair to Dr. Homem or Dr. Crusher... okay, probably not.

*Minus the part where he is surrounded by impossibly-cute, large-breasted females 24/7, but that's not what I enjoy about the show anyway.

I named myself Knucklesgirl because I LOVE Knuckles! I used to have other Knuckles related user names in the past on other sites as well, I was on 4kids forums as Knuxrougefan12 :).

I just chose this name because I figured "Knuckles1 is probably taken" and when I found Knucklesgirl wasn't taken, I was equally shocked blink.png Plus this name is one of a kind and well recognizable more so than Knuckles1 would have been. :)

It's a boring story. My real name is Deji and I love Pokemon the 11 was added because Skype wouldn't let me use dejimon. That's not where I got my name though back in elementary school digimon was popular and my friends kept teasing me with and that nickname

When I first came up with the same I was really addicted to Boktai. I was a bigger fan of Sabata whose power comes from the darkness and all this "Solar" and "Lunar" talk was thrown around during the game. For some reason, I thought adding "Edge" to the end of "Lunar" seemed cool and seeing how my friends and I were gay and use to call ourselves "NewEdge" whenever we collaborated anything, so I became LunarEdge and my one friend SolarEdge, another ChaosEdge, another LeoEdge, ShadowEdge and etc.

Honestly, I can't entirely remember. When I decided to join here, I wanted a new screenname so I naturally went for something Sonic related. I think I just took the word "speed" and attached random syllables to the end of it until something clicked, and I may or may not have taken inspiration from this little guy. But I really can't say for sure, it was a long time ago.

I was trying to come up with the perfect username, and I remembered that this thing existed.

I remember what it did, how ridiculously cool it looked, and described it all fancy - like. And thus, Spinning Silver was born!

The origin of a username goes back towards ancient times of an unknown origin.

A long time ago around about 2005 on a hoaxing website/forums of the Sonic variety that's gone AFAIK I wanted an original username since at that point I wanted to join a forums for more than just one post but the site had no names beginning with a Y. So I thought of a yak, the game Zawackery (an obscure 1984 Midway arcade game) plus the name Zackhary and mixed together to form the name. Sadly thought it probably is the most creative as it can get since my other usernames by comparison felt easier such as how Furnessly is based on the video game composer Matt Furniss or how SSpelunker is based on both the game Spelunker (also Spelunky that itself was based off that game) as well as Spelunk from Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog. Sadly the name wasn't easy to spell since people had problems spelling it (even I did at one point calling it Yawachary) and might sound a bit dodgy but I felt it was unique enough to use here.

There was a variant called Mr. Yawackhary but that was for the earlier days of tSR and only one person remembers that username (and it isn't me but one of the admins there). I honestly don't know how the nicknames of Yawa and Furns/Furn started but saw other people using them.

Well, Haden's my actual name, and the unsername I originally came up with was stupid and I felt like using my real life name was cool or something (I honestly don't know what kickstarted that idea, though), soooo yeah.

THAT'S THE AMAZING TALE OF HOW I, THE HUMBLE HADEN, GOT THIS USERNAME!!

Well, mine is simple enough. Jet Prower is my characters name that you see in the image there. I used to go by another name, Tails Fanatic, for a long time before switching to my characters name as my main user name. TF served me well for a long time, but so many people would just start calling me Jet over TF over time that I've switched to using Jet Prower as my main username now. Simple as that.

Back in my days as a lurker on this forum, I would rack my brain in effort to come up with a username if in fact I ever decided to make the plunge and make an account here, which I figured I would do eventually. Seeing that this is a Sonic forum, I wanted something "Sonic-related" in my username, and since "Sonic" couldn't be used at the time, I went with "Sonikku", as I saw that was permitted. I thought it was interesting to see this form of Sonic's name with 2 consecutive k's in it, as my real name has 2 consecutive k's in it as well as you don't really see that too often in regards to names.

*Sees this topic is in Chit-Chat and not Personal Discussion* Since this topic is public, I won't reveal my real name here. If you want to know what my real name is, check out this post as I mentioned it there.

I couldn't think of anything to add to the "Sonikku" part of my username, so I just went with my nickname of Kiah. Nothing clever, as I'm not creative with names (which is why I haven't changed my username since I joined and will probably never will, especially seeing that members recognize me with it anyway, with the majority of them calling me Kiah) but that's the story behind my username. smile.png

Sonic Adventure was my very first Sonic game, and since Chaos was the character the plot revolved around, I decided to have him represent me. I love his design, and his backstory is great. Not my favorite Sonic character, but if any character were going to represent me, It'd be him :)

The 'Chaos' part comes from Shadow's Chaos attacks (I'm a Shadow fan <3) and 'Ray' is short for my real name, Rachel. My other name, Arya Dröttning (Queen Arya) is the name of an elven queen in one of my favorite book series.

The name of my personal favorite of the plethora of fan characters I created up until 2011 or so: Aero the Lynx. Also it sounds cool :b

And, uh, kind of a confession here: the only Megaman game I was ever really interested in was Legends 3 after reading about it in Nintendo Power. Of course, however, the game had to go and be cancelled. :/  But anyway, there was this pink-haired girl named Aero, and I shamelessly used her as a basis for my Sonic fan character.

My original username is a reference to a song by NYG'z I think. My current one is the name I use for my music.

My favorite kind of Sonic levels are the ones set in casinos. Because these levels are usually full of bright neon lights which I find to be breathtakingly stunning. My favorite level has to be Casinopolis, where everything is covered in bright neon lights, including the palm trees. Not to mention that the music for Casinoloplis is one of my favorites. So in honor of my love for neon lights I named myself Neon the Hedgehog. When I made my picture I.D I based the hedgehog design off of my love for neon lights. I made her fur a dark blue shade like the night sky, and along the edges are the shifting neon colors in her hair.

I love pandas. They're my favourite animal (actually I like bears in general, the panda is my favourite kind) so much so that my fursona is a panda. I also happen to be a particularly large bloke (mostly vertically), and a common thing associated with pandas are that they're big and lazy.

The name "Emperor Robrainiac" is one villain from one of my comics, and is quite possibly one of my favorite characters that I created...

Too bad I haven't drawn him much recently. -_-;

Eh, I got a couple of usernames idea like:

Waddle Dan (Because I was WAY into kirby back then)

Coolboy (Just some dumb name I made up for a joke)

Cartoonist gamer (I like cartoons and video games, but I didn't want to people to think I made cartoons so I scrap it)

Freaking Long Username (I kinda went against this for no reason, but I now use it as my username for my devianart)

I pick KaBlamJamDan because I found it catchy... yea.

My username is based upon one of the best Batman sidekicks of all time in the rogue gallery; the infamously hilarious and fantastic Harley Quinn. I absolutely love her, almost as much as I love Scarecrow and Joker.

Well, I wanted to pick something quickly and Sonic Unleashed came to mind as it's my favorite Sonic game. It's not the most creative name but it works for me.

Well you see, my current username, Black Mamba, is a Kill Bill reference (love those films)

My actual username, Dr. Jackstraw, the one i started out with here, (and i usually prefer it when people call me Jacky for short or some sort of variation on that) comes from a beautiful tale, one that belonged to bootleg Batman toy packaging, it's a lovely piece of art.

Here are the backstories behind my usernames:

Rexeljet (YouTube, SiF, Si3D, TV Shelter)

I first started using this name in 2005 on TV.com. This one isn't all that interesting; I just made the name out of what was lying on the computer desk at the time- a Rexel pencil and an Inkjet cartridge.

Notsoboxy (Wikipedia)

I first started using this name in 2006 on NFSCars. There was a user on the site called "boxy" who released mods of playable background traffic cars for certain driving games. As this was something that anyone could do, he wasn't exactly the most liked person on the site. I made an account called Notsoboxy and basically posted loads of spam comments on his mods. I made a bit of a fool of myself on this site.

Old Freddy/Old-Freddy (Comics UK, Deviantart, here)

I first started using this name in 2009, on Comics UK. My name isn't Freddy, and I'm not that old (yet). I named my username after a comic strip character that I made up when I was younger:

freddy.png

This particular strip was drawn in 2009 (I'm a bit better at doing this sort of thing nowadays. A bit.)

I usually use the name Old Freddy and variants of it when a site or forum doesn't accept "Rexeljet". Other times I use this name just to mix things up a bit.
