What's the origin of your username?

My username has an odd story... It's a generic case of "can't think of anything, just use first thing I see" as I was creating a username to use on another site which didn't involve my real name. I think I was watching a kids program with my siblings at the time, and got the idea from that. Since then, I've always used this username, if I've had the chance.

Buzy Lizzie? You mean that presenter off SMart on the Road? Ah, good times.

Anyway, mine's simple enough; it's an acronym that isn't too hard to work out, pronounced Veg-Eff on it's own (technically, the full acronym is VEDJ/BG-F, but I don't want to send bad ideas to the kiddies by saying Veg/Bug-Eff :/) As for what each letter stands for;

V-Vector

E-Espio

D-Dingodile

J-Joe [Do I need to expalin which Joe?]

F-Fangirl

Basically, it's exactly the same as Pur-Rulz (another username of mine, used a lot more often, named after Pura the Tiger) only updated for 2011.

Cero is derived from Ceroro which was originally a fancharacter I had based on Keroro Gunso. It was actually the first thing that came to mind when I signed up for the Sega Forums, and the name just stuck.

Zany Mallet Maniac:

Zany because that word perfectly describes me. Mallet because of my love for old school cartoons where they would dig one out of their hammerspace and beat the crap out of someone! And Maniac because I am crazy.

I know, I am a very 'deep' person.

My current name, much like everything else, came at random, and I wanted something that sounded cool. I think I succeeded at that.

I have no idea, I just like this username. I use it for quite a few sites. :v

EDIT: Okay, it might be a slight reference to FiM, but believe it or not, I came up with this username before Discord was introduced. XD

My username comes from this adorable thing

tumblr_luve3dnxhg1qeuz19o1_400.jpg

Derpy Hooves the crosseyed pegasus muffin addict, also known as Ditzy Doo. Though she was only an animation error at first, many fans liked this background character and started giving her a fanon (fan canon). The creators have recognized her popularity and have given her several shoutouts and funny cameos since then even call her Derpy.

I've discussed VEDJ-F and Pur-Rulz already, so might as well go into a different forum username origin.

Meliden is probably the most cryptic of all my usernames, as it's not named after any particular character. It's still pretty simple though; when I go for a walk in Stoke, I'll sometimes choose to go around Thistley Hough via Newcastle Lane. One of the little roads I pass while doing this circuit is Meliden Way. I thought Meliden sounded like an awesome name, so I go by that moniker on Bumbleking.

Fancy being on a very American forum and using something so British.

Originally online I never used my first name. I went by stuff like "MobiusMecha", "EatMyDust" and "SegataSanshiro". But when I wanted to start writing and making a name for myself in the blogging community, I went by my real first name "Barry" and wanted to add something SEGA related to the end. Since I'm a Sonic fan, I went with "Barry the" and chose "Nomad" as the last bit as it is my favorite piece of SEGA hardware and the focus of my first blog. Thus: Barry the Nomad, however I usually just refer to myself by my first name when conversing online or doing podcasts or youtube videos.

When I first joined this community, I went by the name of GarnetPrincess. I chose that name because the Garnet is my birthstone. Princess just sounded like it fit. (This is still my deviantART username.)

Now I go by Maxanda, which I chose while I was in a Kingdom Hearts craze. It's an anagram of my real first name with an "X" added, just like the members of Organization XIII.

I don't think I've posted here before.

Let's just get a fact straight, for those who have skype will already know this by now, my name isn't Ivy.

When I first came here I started off as AIrRave after a remix on the Sonic Arcade album. But when I first played Ivy the Kiwi I loved it so much that I decided to change my username to honour the game, it would have been ether Airthekiwi or IvyRave, but latter sounds more feminine so I picked it. But I changed it again to iVYRAVE because of NiGHTS

"Ravenfreak" became my username for most places because I'm obsessed with Raven from Teen Titans. I'm not as obsessed as I was when I was younger, but yep. I'm known as Ravenfreak on every Sonic related forum that I visit, so chances are you've seen me somewhere else as well. :V

I needed a username and the pod was staring me right in the face. I can't get enough of the stuff.

It's better than some of the names I used to go by 10 years ago... 'Hyoushin' ('ice quake' in Japanese...), SonicUK (lol), Firo... I've always liked names ending in 'o' for some reason.

But anyway: coffee rules.

Alien/Renegade...

For one, it's my musical hobby/act moniker.

I guess I picked the "Alien" part because I incorporate electronic influences in my music. Also, socially, I'm kind of an "outcast" (and thus, I'm friends with a lot of "outcasts").

The "Renegade" part comes in because considering my environment and the stereotypes surrounding my race (I'm black. lol), it's kind of a statement of refusal to become a part of the typical.

...or something like that i guess.

  • 3 weeks later...

but i just like to once again since today is special and i didn't really go into detail last time.

Goku262002.

Thats my username. but what does it mean. well today it means allot, its my 10th anniversary on the internet!

split my name up and it stands for Goku 2/6/2002. February 6th, 2002.

Ah yes it was a day i couldn't forget. my birthday passed awhile ago i just turned 14 and as a gift i got a hand built computer loaded with Win2000 with AOL dial-up. i have had experiences with computers before this (since win98 actually) but not the internet so basically this was my first real time dealing with the internet. after being grounded for the past 2 weeks (stupid school sending my stupid grades on a stupid Monday after my birthday. buncha stoopid jerks!) and not getting any computer time i finally got to sit down and boot up the internet for the first real time. after the initial dial up process, AOL asked me to register for an email account.

Of course, me being the rabid omgdbzissoooooooooocoolilooooooveitbesttvshowever type of fan back then, i wanted "Goku@AOL.com". of course it was taken so AOL gave me a list of suggestions from their suggestion list. along with many other stupid suggestions "goku262002" was on the list chose that one until i could fight aol for the email address name i wanted (guess how that turned out?).

The next few hours i spent surfing the net and learning allot (guys remember tripod and geocities type sites? wow seems like i was just surfing those sites awhile ago, GRRR FUCK I'M OLD!!!) and bookmarked 100 or so new sites yeah it was a good first day. and about a day later i got sent an spam email with BDSM porn attached and my mom found it so i got grounded again....fuck.

My first year wasn't special much. I remember that i joined a bunch of no-name forums at first and like acted like a complete moron. i always tried to make myself known by putting alittle emotion at the end of my posts (like this one "sniper.gif" or this one "goku2.gif") My second year is what i remember more. I joined allot of the sites i still use today like DevART and my first real forums "Infinite forums" (Later re-named to "Alot of talk forums") and "

Kiss Dragonball Z Message Boards". i gained allot of my forum experiences there and i still have fond memories of those places.

Around the same year, i gained my fandom for Sonic back and joined a small forum called "Tails2k Forums" (if anyone remembers, Each week from 2003 to 2004 the original Sonic X community Tails2k in collaboration with the French site, Dream Avenue provided fans with the latest Sonic X episode straight from Japan. So yeah, we were awesome for awhile there).

It was there i met my long time best friend from across the pond, Lightning89 better known today as Bolt7 god the hours we spent there were awesome. Around 2004, the boards i regular at were dying out or were making radical changes (Infinitewebby had health issues so he was having trouble keeping up the site, kiss72dbz just dropped off the face of the earth god knows if he died or not same with tails2k) as tails2k was the last one to die off Bolt7 told me he was heading to "Sonic Stadium" i followed him here.

Since then its been an up and down roller coaster here with the numerous Sonic Game announcements and the shitstorms that came with it, Forum Dramas as sappy as a Daytime TV show, And Lulzy moments i won't forget anything soon.

Its been a fun 10 years. heres to 10 more!

Oh, hmm...do I really need to explain the meaning behind my name?

Daniel - iel + Anime - An = Danime

When I first came up with the name, I googled it and learned that there was a Deviant Art member that has that name. So to seperate from this person, the line "-" was added in the middle.

The "J" is the first letter of my middle name, and my Dad would sometimes call me "DJ".

And the "86" is the year I came to this world.

As a throwback to the December event, Danime was add to "rry Christmas", and a line on both sides of the "I". = Dan-I-MerryChristmas

"Dan-I", replaces "Have a."

My old name "FelixTheKid" was from my SEGA forum display name. "Dr. Felix" was just some name I came up with in my head. "Fix-It Felix", my present display name, came from the character in the movie Wreck-It Ralph.

My old name, Enigma2Me, and also currently my Youtube name, was me trying to think of something cool. Same applies for Enigmatus.
