DiGi…if you are so confident of your information…E-Mail me something…ANYTHING primary source related to corroborate your information. You can do it through my News Tips system, and I hear you have up to four sources, so any combination of up to those 4 will do just fine. You have my personal assurance that names, positions, etc. will be kept confidential.

I am not interested in ruining people’s lives. I am, however, interested in getting the story right. If you can give me something to affirm your cause, I will *immediately* retract Thursday's story.

A lot of people on this board would kill for the opportunity to embarrass me and what I write. If you have all these corroborating sources, you have a prime chance. Better not waste it. If you do, believe me, you'll have folks doubting you all the way to February.

No. You know that if someone actually bought into this bullshit, it could jeopardize someone's job? Which isn't very cool now, >=(. I'm not the only one who thinks this either, so I'd rather if you'd shut your trap. Especially after what DiGi said:

This always seems to happen. Because of this, I don't think people should leak information at all. We should just learn to be patient and wait for official news.

Journalists seek information, and try to get scoops. It's the nature of the beast, and if we all relied on 'official news' then the press is nothing but PR guys for the companies/government/etc. Of course, you have the freedom to ignore all articles and discussion that are tagged as 'rumour' as well.

NDA isn't a law. It's something you sign when you work for a corporation. It's to prevent leaks that could damage a company's reputation, let its competitor get ahead, etcetera.

Uhm. I hope you read up on what an NDA actually is before you're in a position to sign one. A Non Disclosure Agreement's aim is primarily to prevent leaks, yes, but its purpose can vary depending on circumstance. It is also a legally binding contract between two parties. So yes, you can get in trouble if you break it.

In otherwords, the NiGHTS fanbase has the ToeJam & Earl fanbase to thank. I appreciate that DiGi acknowledged us in his campaign and livestream, too.

I know what he wrote on my site. If he wants to be that way, that's fine, but it does nothing to add to the legitimacy of the campaign beyond it, for the moment, being a boy who cried wolf.

This campaign--and especially the way it's being marketed--is well deserving of criticism.

I'm not sure what you mean, exactly. Your post before this suggested DiGi has four sources backing up this claim and you actually asked him for them. Do you really believe that his information is not credible, or are you trying to wrangle some confirmation or sources out of him for TSSZ? Either stance is fine, but don't flip-flop on your opinion of the matter. Some might take that approach as deceptive.

I don't really know whether DiGi is right or wrong - and it's not my place to say in all honesty, not my fanbase - but in terms of how he has revealed the information, he's done no worse than any other video game blog. All he did was make a claim, say he has 'sources' to back up said claim... I've seen TSSZ, Kotaku and others do that many times. It is a bit churlish to take the moral high ground in this instance.

People are well within their right to believe or not-believe DiGi's claim - that's the nature of a rumour, and I don't begrudge places like TSSZ saying 'take this with a pinch of salt'. In fact, I'd have been disappointed if you didn't do that Tristan, I know if nothing else you're consistent with trying to ascertain facts and sources. But DiGi's already announced his decision to not reveal sources publically a few pages back, so we should probably just hang back and see what happens now.

Either way, I'd rather not have TSSZ's dirty laundry shift sideways onto my forums. What he said on your site is what happened on your site. Nobody here needs to know why you reported stuff the way you did, that's for you to address your readership on your own website.

This topic needs to get off of this subject now, so all I'll say is good luck to DiGi, TRiPPY and the NiGHTS peeps for getting their DLC requests in - I'll happily sign/contribute to your e-petition if you truly believe it'll help. PM me a link or something (I must have missed it in this topic). Tristan, if you want to chase this matter further with DiGi I'd appreciate it if you did so via email or other form of private contact.

My guess is 12 racers to start, 12 to unlock. The great news is that many of the racers will not be second characters from the same game (Aiai & Mimi, Beat & Gum). I can't confirm this (obviously), but from the amount of characters were seen and the amount left, it's unlikely that Gum, Mimi, Amiga, Ulala and Pudding are the final reveals. Two per franchise was more of a tennis thing, in which both sides of the home court could be covered by characters of that series.

We still don't know how many characters and courses there are besides "Over 20 each" though I imagine there is probably about 24 characters and somewhere between 21-28 stages. The ones we know for sure in the game are as follows:

Now there's a few things here and there we could guess, but this is ALL that has been confirmed in terms of characters and stages.

Personally, if it was up to me to pick a few courses, I personally would include:

-An area from Phantasy Star Online, if it was my pick, the island area from episode II.

-An area from Rez. It would be flipping amazing.

-A NiGHTS stage. NiGHTS may not be in but that doesn't mean a NiGHTS stage isn't, and Nightopia is symbolic.

-A Space Channel 5 stage, that space station would look cool in next-gen graphics.

-Skies of Arcadia stage, admit it racing along airships would be pretty cool.

-Shenmue stage. An old-Japanese styled location would be pretty cool.

-Burning Rangers area. I would personally like that aquarium stage, it's unique.

-Ristar Stage. One of the planets would be pretty cool to visit.

-Golden Axe stage. I think seeing one of the old 2D stages revamped would be amusing as it would be awesome.

-Ecco the dolphin stage... It'd be cool...

Though at this point ignoring the long list above, if they gave us a Phantasy Star stage, NiGHTS stage, Rez Stage, or Skies of Arcadia stage I would be happy and if someone from Arcadia, NiGHTS, Burning Rangers, or Ristar are in, I'll be happy.

In Germanz he isnt so popular. I like him though, mainly brcause, the Toads in Mario Smash Football looked cool on his team XD.

To Ristar Stage: Id take the fire planet,because I dont think that there is a fire stage at the momen.

OH and the Skies of Arcadia stage on Battleships reminds me of the Bowsers Battleship stage from Mario Kart DS .

Agreed, though I still think there will be more courses than characters, even if only a small tidbit, and I personally think there is still one more hidden Sonic course, making the total 4.

The problem is character and stage ideas could be broad. For instance, I am vouching for Vyse, NiGHTS (as DLC), Ristar, Shou (from Burning Rangers), Axel (from Crazy Taxi), Opa-Opa, Vectorman, anyone from Phantasy Star, and the main character from Feel the Magic XX/XY AKA Rub Rabbits.

However, I am also satisfied with Eggman and Billy Hatcher and enjoy other additions though. If anyone of the above is in, I will be happy, though I don't suspect all of them to get in, I come by the stance where I am happy with what we have so far, can't wait to see more, and if any of the above characters or stages get in I'll just be a bit happier with the product, but if not, I'll still enjoy it.

About my reasoning, it'd be pretty cool stylized character, and they could even go en route to have him and his girlfriend in the car and the car being love themed and an all-star move where a group of the Rub Rabbits come and lift up the car and start charging ahead with them (you know, the Rub Rabbits, that weird organization that's always helping the guy get the girl).

I mean, I highly doubt Feel the Magic XX/XY is actually going to get any representation, but it'd be a cool and hilarious character. XD Oh, and I also forgot to mention above I'd also be pleased with a Panzer Dragoon character though I realize no regular beast riding, so my suggestion would be to have the person drive a Dragon-Themed car and then All-Star move to be to ride the infamous dragon and then the dragon can shoot ahead and hit people with blast of fury!

Also, huge at the thought there is no TJ&E fanbase. I'm pretty sure there was a small community right before the release of Mission to Earth (especially on GameFAQs where Greg Johnson roamed and talked with fans about Xbox Live DLC and what-not). But since the third game flopped harder than anything you could imagine, the fanbase disbanded and it's now just comprised of people saying "Oh! I remember that game! It was awesome!"<---ONLY when it comes to the old games. In other words, nobody played III, even though it was heavily comprised of fanservice to the series, and it had its quirkiness and fun. Most people don't even know that there was a 3rd game in the series.

The smallerish version of the Rapmaster would still be orange, the trademark color of the series. I think its size will be around Dr. Robotnik's Eggman's monster truck.

There's all the retailers who are now listing the game up for pre-order. Looks like they all agree on 26th March 2010 for a release date apart from ShopTo. Also, HMV are the only ones listing the PC version and list it to be released a week later than the other versions. Very odd.

I actually find myself wondering now if Sega still ha the rights to Rez. It's possible that Q? bought the IP outright. I can imagine Sega selling it to them, it's not like they any idea what to do with it... And then Mizuguchi re released it in high definition and it was the best selling game on XBLA for a while.

That relieves some fears I had for a Rez stage not appearing. Now I just hope a Rez stage is in... Seriously, that stage would be flipping amazing. I just hope SUMO thinks it would be amazing too...
