Question: how's the online interface? does it have something like "Worldwide, US, UK, etc" for looking for races? I'm gonna try to get a copy today but I'm just wondering and I haven't heard about that at all.

Thanks! I assume that works for characters too. I'll spend today online then and unlock the rest of the stuff I'm missing tomorrow.

Um - no. I should've mentioned that in my post - you'll be able to play the tracks (and hear the music) that the host's got, but the characters must always be unlocked on your end before you can use them anywhere.

Screw the fishbowl. Ecco should ride the goddamn Asterite. Sliding down the track on a crazy sentient DNA strand. Aw yeah. His All-Star could be extra speed while firing echolocating blasts that confuse drivers. Maybe like blurry water effect on their screens? How does that sound.

Edit: I do have to say, what really separates this place form the official Sega forums is that the majority of people here understand the above. Whereas, were I to type the above at the Sega forums I'd be ripped to shreds. I swear, the Sega SASAR forums are filled with junk posts asking for unpopular characters as DLC, and often the writers are genuinely flabbergasted that Cream/Marine/Omochao aren't playable.

Dude, tell me about it! :/

It's no secret here where Silver ranks on my list of favorite Sonic characters, but I totally recognize his place on the popularity scale. Guess gotta wait for the next installment of Sonic Riders or Sonic Rivals.

I feel your pain, but we just have to manage. I'm glad S0L added Cream as a cameo (abit, a very small cameo, but my point still stands) but I'm aware of where she stacks among the rest of the cast. Speaking of Metal Sonic, I would've loved to see him hiding somewhere in Final Fortress either blazing around or just standing somewhere menacing.

Also, people wanted Omochao playable?! :blink:

You see a flag from the host's respective country. :)

Ahh gotcha. So you can race no problem regardless of where you live. I'm assuming it's the same for all version (minus DS) right.....right?! D:

If you played SST, it's a similar setup but much faster. I raced with some players from Spain last night.

Never played it, but faster is good news for me then.

Guess I'll fully figure out the thing myself when I get home tonight. Gah, I wanna play it now! You lucky dogs. D: :P

Holy fuck best racing game I've ever played. It destroys the shit out of Mario Kart and is probably the funnest multiplayer game I've ever played.

The Jet Set Radio tracks are GORGEOUS and I'm in love with the Casino Park stages. My only complaint is the overabundance of Rush music and lack of Everybody Jump Around.

Sequel please Sumo.

Ha ha, we'll have to have a race together sometime. I got the Wii Wheel bundle but its not very comfortable to hold as it squeezes your fingers. The Wii version plays as well as the HD console versions, played online with my younger brother and it runs smoothly with no lag or frame-rate problems. The only thing thats odd about the Wii version is the black bars at the top and bottom, I'd have thought it would be fine to run on a wide-screen TV without the bars.

I'll probably just get the basic Wii version, I don't really see a need for me to buy the Wii Wheel bundle as I have no intention of using it. It does look quite cool though... I shall have to see what the price difference between the two versions is.

And yes, we must race sometime! Sonic zoom, Sonic zoom, Sonic ZOOM...! :P

I honestly can't understand why some reviewers would say the game is hard to get to grips with, it's even MORE simple than Mario Kart to get to grips with!

Bloody brilliant game. Gotta get friend to play it with now that I've almost unlocked everything. Has anyone else noticed a distinct lack of Banjo Kazooie in the 360 ver? They're on the character select menu, but have not once shown up as CPUs. It's weird. Oh and some ASMs seem more common than others. Knuckles rarely gets his, yet Bigs shows up all the time.

Yay! WOrk is letting off an hour and a half early due to bad weather! 1.5 hours more to play SASAR :D

Oh yeah, and Banjo-Kazooie are (thankfully) very minimal in SASAR. Only mention is in the character select menu and in the history section. I completely forgot that Banjo's debut game was Diddy Kong Racing!

I so totally did. Opa-Opa's inclusion is obviously a reference to his DLC Opa-Opa Kart from Sonic Adventure 2, though. :P
