Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing

Doctor MK

Wow. I saw a hacker already on the Wii version. Someone racing as Ulala who had an endless All-Star Move throughout the whole race.

Is the Wii really that vulenrable to hacks?

Anyone else notice Avatar's animations are somewhat girly? I've never seen myself act this fabulous.

Homebrew channel and no way of banning players.

When you can just walk to your local game store and pick up a cheat device for the Wii, yes.

Sadly because its one of the most traditional of console designs this gen yes. Wii is the easiest of the lot to hack and uses cheat discs like any other console, which is fine for single player games but I think anyone playing online with cheat codes and hacks really is simply just spoiling it for everyone else. Its a shame because it means Wii players are less likely to get a fair game online : (

Sadly yet another case for locking up systems ala Xbox 360 and limiting user interactivity in trade for security

Online mode is nice and fun-- but was it /really/ necessary to take out the All-Star Moves completely? It's kinda frustrating to be blown to the back of the race and have zero possibility of catching up. >_>;

Well, I guess that means you're way better than me. Yoshi Unity invited me to a friend race with expert AI on and I got raped by rubber-banding. XD

Though catch up mode wasn't on. I think Grand Prix has that on against the AI by default, because they DO seem easier in GP than Single Race.

Wow, I seem to have the exact opposite experience, single races and online races are easy but I got rubberbanded to hell in GP mode. Also the arrows in the monkey ball stages are confusing as all fuck, took about 4 tries to finish in first on those.

PS: Since the game is out now for all systems shouldn't we move all these discussions to a sub forum? Just a suggestion.

So Amazon just delayed the delivery of my game to next week, but apparently it's too late to cancel the order and get it faster from somewhere else.

I'm quite ticked...

It's been quite a fun game, although I haven't gotten very far yet. It has very smooth and efficient handling as well. I'm not sure what the technical term is, but I found that the...transition of perspectives were executed seamlessly (like going into a corkscrew, for example.) I rarely encountered any framerate drops, so that was well done.

I'm not sure if I'm somehow missing this, but there doesn't seem to be a replay after I finish the race. Surely Sumo Digital must have included something as basic as that.

On a side-note, do Sumo Digital have some fascination with Sonic Heroes, because it's featured quite heavily in this and Sega Superstars Tennis?

The only thing I'm really disappointed in is the exclusion of online play in the PC version, because of concerns of copyright infringement (A.K.A. piracy.) It's fair enough if Sumo and/or Sega believe that the project sales won't meet the cost, but I think accommodations should have been made for P2P, á la Trackmania.

At any rate, a job well done by Sumo and something they should be proud of (even though Sega are the ones who really reap the rewards.) The artists showed great vision in recreating the tracks, character models and object models (although I wish Tails' Tornado was actually the colour of the original Tornado, instead of all yellow.) Programmers...Well it's difficult to notice what you did since most of it is backend work, but since I didn't notice much wrong, you must have done a great job as well!

It's just a guess, but what I imagined happened is that that person downloaded the ISO onto his/her PC, then used an application like Cheat Engine to modify the game's attributes (in this case, the All Star Moves.) It actually isn't very difficult to do; they just need to make sure that the value is frozen at 1. Then it was simply a matter of burning the modified ISO onto a disc for use in his/her modded Wii. I wouldn't be surprised if something similar occurs in the 360 version, although the culprit would be more likely to be banned there.

Gah, there's a nasty shortcut in Rokkaku Hill the CPU keeps taking right at the end but I can't seem to find it D=

It's a really sharp turn to the right once you get into the tunnel. Leads to a parking garage area.

Took me awhile to find that one myself.

Been trying Time Trail courses in Order and I don't want to boast, but I'm first now in a couple of them PS3 side. (I expect them to be beaten soon though since the game just launched. >.>)

I really hate going "Too Fast" in some Courses Jumps and then you land in some Undesirable way. (Eg. Somehow getting stuck on the floor at 0 Speed)

You know the suggestive themes? Well if I look at someone on my friends list (ps3) who is playing the game it says the following.

"playing Sonic & Sega All Stars Racing, Racing in the frontend" and it could be my pervy mind. But I'm sure I've seen it say at one point. "Racing at the backend." urn.... Really? Well at least it doesn't include the characters name, e.g something like, "Racing in Bigs backend" or "racing in Amys front end"

Also S0L what's happened to the advertising for the game?

I just finished all the beginner cups. The game is just awesome.

In my previous post I said that more variety wouldve been cool. Too add on that. I love the music in the game, but having 3 seaside hill tracks, 3 casino, and 3 final fortress stages, Makes the music a bit repetitive too, especially in the beginning. It wouldve been better if the tracks all had different tracks from the beginning together with the addition of buying new songs.

I found myself buying new tracks as quick as possible. Especially for the billy hatcher and jet set tracks. I was first aiming for the characters which made me hear that concept of love track alot.

So basically in short, if it can be possible, a music dlc pack would be cool.

I hope you appreciate my feedback :P

I've managed to AAA every mission except Monkey Trouble (where you have to hit all the targets in the Monkey Ball arena as the Bonanza Bros). No matter what I do I can't get them all. What is the secret to beating it?

I think someone mentioned a couple pages back that they'd like to see music DLC? I agree. I for one would love to see tracks from Sonic Unleashed especially (and Sonic and the Secret Rings/Black Knight). I'm actually rather shocked that nothing from that game was represented, which is a bit of a shame but perhaps it was just SEGA implying restrictions on the games that could be used.

I encountered a wacky glitch!

While playing an Eggman mission, Eggman rose up on his wheels and then froze in place. The vehicle still drove, but Eggman was like a statue. I recorded it and will put a video up tomorrow. Good for a laugh.

Remember how I said Sandy Drifts was evil? Well it is, but I'd say Monkey Target is even worse.

Well, they're not exactly bad stages. They were fun to play. But the turns are very sharp and I just end up getting confused over the arrow direction. Gonna need to practice on those two.

Pretty good at all the other stages.

I only had Problems with Monkey Target at the end with all those turns first time I ran trough it, now that I know it's not a problem...

Weird, the same thing happened to me when I was playing as Big!

This, this, a thousand times this. Big is just an awesome entry. and 1 certain victory phase from the announcer made me go "whaaaaat?". This game is just freaking awesome.
