Rare did play a part in developing the Avatars as well as collaborating with Banjo-Kazooie, so technically they are a co-developer. Maybe a 5% developer.

They rejected it? That's odd considering they allowed it to be used in PSO of all games, though it wasn't for the opening logo mind you.

Is this YouTube channel official? It has alot of SEGA of America info on it but it look's like it might be tricked out to look official when it's actually not especially as the grammar is pretty bad.

On all of the videos and the main page it claims that the game is being released February 12 2010. On the Banjo-Kazooie and Avatar's trailer it says -

You can play as your XBOX Avatar and Banjo Kazooie only for Xbox 360 . You can unlock levels from the original game from Banjo Kazooie and you could race all your favorite SEGA Characters including your avatar with a specially made green car for you . I would imagine that it is very safe to say that information would have come out with yesterday's official reveal rather than a one-off in a youtube video description. It'd be a pretty big deal and worth mentioning if it were true.

Yeah, that video is from a gaming site called TFMX.

The story behind it -

When Steve and Travis left me in charge of the ASR demo while they went on stage and then have a break those TFMX guys came over to try and record the demo and do a report all casual like. I had to send them away since Steve and Travis told me no-one was allowed to take pics or record. Before the event closed they approached Steve and Travis and surprisingly they let them do a report

I think the "we owe them two a pint" comment was aimed at me and the SEGA Europe rep as we gave Steve and Travis alot of help and support As you know we were staffing the M&S pods next to the ASR pod.

Ah I see, I thought it looked a bit odd. The guy at the both when oddly quiet when I clicked the PS button to see if there was any trophies loaded onto the game. lol I could tell he didn't know quite if it was ok for me to do that so I said "Whoops, sorry about that" and returned to the game.... grrr sadly I never did get to find out.

Oh theres a thought... a suggestion (if indeed they're still taking them). Could the platinum trophy (if the PS3 version is still getting some love) be named something, not something like "Platinum" or... "100% platinum" Or the very dull "100%" Just something to say "YOU DID IT!"

Also another suggestion...

That would have been me and I remember that happening I didn't know it was you, I was hoping meet you but I didn't get to meet many people off here (if I did I didn't know it was them) as I couldn't leave the M&S pod outside of my break as the SEGA rep needed a hand dealing with the crowds of people wanting to play.

I hadn't thought about the Platinum trophy, would be cool if it has a nice SEGA reference.

That reminds me, in Super Smash Bros. Melee, the mention of the "Devil World" series was removed for the North American and European releases (Tamagon, etc.). However, its sequel (Super Smash Bros. Brawl) was allowed to mention Devil World by using the Devil as an Assist Trophy, as well as stickers, etc.

Is the same happening going to happen here? Or are we going to get screwed over because of Europe's strong stance against that kind of stuff?

The "Curien Mansion" name was used just because of Germany. Not all of Europe. Sumo left it in all versions though.

As far as I know, most of the House of the Dead games are banned in Germany.

Well all versions have the option to make blood green. And now that I'm actually looking this up, it turns out ALL HotD games are banned there. And apparently Virtua Cop too!

I don't think the HOTD games were banned here, just not released. I saw the UK versions at a rental place. The Wii ones ( 2+3 and the new one).. The ones not on Wii I'm not sure about. When I saw Curien Mansion on SST, I thought it was the japanese name xD.

Anyway, sorry if it was stupid Germanys fault x( Politicians (and many others) are incompetent in these things. One guy even said that "Killer Games" were just as bad as child pornography O.O

Actually I can answer this to clear anything up.

House of the Dead is referred to as Curien Mansion in the Europe versions of SST & ASR because of Germany, the game is banned by the usual law (games about violence and guns are pretty much banned straight off the bat) so they can't use "The House of the Dead" title over there, this was the way in getting around it.

Yay for studying German law.

Anyway as Flyboy said back on topic please.
