All-Stars Racing Transformed: The Track Roster Thread

2 is a decent enough balance IMO. A Green Hill Zone-esque Track and an Eggman base track. Green Hill lets you do all the Sonic related stuff while Eggman's Base is an equivalent to Bowser's Castle. I would like to see a Casino Park track, but that's probably overdoing that theme from ASR. So maybe 3 instead.

Psst... I wasn't being serious.

Sounds like you haven't heard of Poe's Law.

kinda sick of people asking for another Green Hill zone as a track, you should of gotten your HD Green Hill Zone fix with Generations... i want some other obscure Sonic level to get realized, not another seaside hill/Emerald Coast/Green Hill/ Casino Zone/ Egg Fleet level

something like an Ice Level, Some Techno Level like Cyber Track? Metal Harbour? Sky Rail? just not something that was painfully obvious because i'm sick of seeing all those sorts of levels.

Too bad. The "painfully obvious" levels are the only game in town when it comes to Sonic levels.

This was the case in the last game. Waterfront area, casino zone, industrial factory. Those are the main themes of Sonic. I don't see why they'd use anything else.

Marble Zone is a zone that never gets the love it deserves. Same goes for Star Light and Spring Yard. All the other Sonic 1 zones get love (Green Hill in numerous titles, Labyrinth in Sonic 4 and Scrap Brain in Superstars Tennis).

I would be a VERY happy Sonic fan if Marble, Star Light or Spring Yard were tracks in Transformed.

Ooh! Why not take a page from NiGHTS track and have a track where you race through various zones from Sonic 1? THat way Green Hill gets in, but so do other lesser represented classic zones? I know boating through lava in Marble Zone would be insane!

Well. The race track that I like for the final course is Radiant Emerald track. Hopefully that Radiant Emerald will be slightly based on Sonic Drift's Milky Way and colorful. If it can't then, I have it the way it is. Also, I don't mind if Radiant Emerald take didn't take the spot as the final course as long as it can play the background music such as "Super Sonic Racing" in Full Version. Also known as Redbook repeat music (well at least that what TB from Sega Forums told me that what it is). Youi know, when the song starts from the beginning all the way to the very end of the song. Not the same repeat as it did on the first sega racing game.

The final course should just be an ultra-dangerous Eggman-themed course. Deadly robots everywhere, plus missiles being rained down on the track, sawblades, flamethrowers, spike traps, disappearing sections of track that drop people into bottomless pits. It should be called the "Egg Gauntlet".

I still think that a mashup of the general Special Stage themes would make for an amazing final stage and the perfect counterpart to Rainbow Road.

why are we talking about final stages again? we've still got loads of stages before hand lol

I'm glad to hear they're not having about 6 locales and multiplying about 3 very samey stages from each. It just felt like such a waste of potential when there's so many different places instead of just ice, factory, haunted woods and carnival. Definately a step in the right direction aswell so that as many franchises get included.

Also I pray that they give up on this Heroes fixation once and for all. It's been plaguing Sonic spin-offs for years now where it feels like it's the only game they can take inspiration from. Lord knows we've seen waaaayy too much of Seaside Hill after Mario and Sonic, Sega Racing and Generations.

Space Channel 5 Stage anyone? I'd love to race through a stage based on Report 4 of Part 2.

Because with regards to this game, track speculation really has no reason to be limited.

doesn't mean it has to be limited to what the final, hardest race track is going to be though.

I'd rather the last track not be a direct answer to Rainbow Road. Not to say that a track based on the Special Stages in general wouldn't be awesome; it would, but I'd prefer that Sumo came up with their own unique type of final course instead of acknowledging Mario Kart with it.

Any Space Channel 5 place will be fine. But I think it probably will be a track that would be based on Spaceport.

Wasn't there a post in the main thread about S0L saying there wasn't a track based on 1 IP? Maybe it's like SEGA Carnival in Riders, and that's the last track.

As long as we get a remix of Daytona with the original vocalist, I'd back it.

who would not love eggmanland

me? Eggman had the hardest track in the first game, please reserve the challenging track for some other IP for this one.

That was the joke, though. People are always complaining that eggmanland is the hardest level in sonic history (huge overreaction). Ergo, it would be kinda funny if the hardest track in the game would be eggmanland.

i don't care for the challenge of Eggmanland, more so an Eggman track getting the hardest track AGAIN.

i've played the demo of transformed, and i can tell you that Adder's lair is way harder than the final level on SASASR and it isn't even the final level.

How easy is it shifting between the various driving styles? The jump between boating and flying seems like it could throw you off balance a tad. Also, how fast is each style? The flying looked the slowest in all the videos I've seen, but IDK.

car is actually slowest, when boosting as a boat its incredibly fast and propels you through the water like a torpedo, the plane's are actually the fastest form, they sacrifice handling for speed, however the barrel rolls and flips are a good way for slightly altering your path to avoid obstacles (think the quick step from Unleashed)

the shift between play styles is smooth and doesn't take away from the game, the only thing that tends to test your control between transitions is if you to tricks after a transformation ramp, especially after turning to a boat and getting a landing boost, the speed it propels you at tends to skip the actual water lol.
