The guy who makes all that hentai is involved with this?

Somehow that doesn't surprise me.

The game probably started as a hentai flash and end up as a fighting game heh I mean, that doesn't surprise me either ^^

Like I said, ZONE made a collab h-flash/game hybrid so I guess he got involvement as payment :B

Just a really big fan. apparently considering he donated like $1000 dollars. I don't really think you can count that thing as collab.

Pretty impressed they exceeded their kickstarter/indiegogo goal in like 1 day, as opposed to 30. 24 people donated $1000 which is crazy IMO. Hopefully they can use the response from this to get funding for more projects or something :'D

Skullgirls forever!

I really wish the amount of people who actually bothered donating were also playing the actual game. Most people who donated to this and the EVO drive only did so because of pretty much just being a fan of the characters or added benefits, not because of the game itself. Thanks, Tumblr community. Still doesn't change that the actual online base is barren.

Honestly, this has kind of made me grow out of the game since it feels like only now did the developers realize that the game actually exists and is getting some CPR treatment, and having crowdfunding for DLC characters honestly sounds kind of baffling, especially when Squiggly was supposed to be in the game from the start over a year ago. Can't really get excited now I'm afraid; the game is practically dead, the patch took eons to come out and I've just lost interest.

Props to MikeZ and everyone else but it's hard for me to see how this game has lived on for so long without an active base. For all that hard work with only that spectacularly and depressingly empty character select screen with a ridiculous amount of lack in modes to show for, it just didn't end up being fun for more than a day for me. This stuff is way overdue.

The main problem is that the game was released really dry to today's standards. It has the same amount of characters of the first Street Fighter. Considering it started as almost a freelance project, it worked pretty well for them, everything about the game was perfectly done, hell the art and the music speaks for itself, but as a proper fighting game, at least I think it didn't worked pretty well in calling people attention, except for those who were in with the project or the artists from the beggining.

I still enjoy the game, but it's really because of how much I like the art style of it, even though I'm a fan of 2D fighters as well.

Silly Carbo, you make a fighting game famous by having the publisher buy its way into Evo.  You think the pros give a shit about SFxTekken?

And btw, I still think that team feature was extraneous.

So yeah, Squigly is really coming: http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/keep-skullgirls-growing?c=home

And if things keep going like this, Big Band is coming too! There's even a guy taking a shot on voicing him, and IMO, he already nail'd it.

Oh, and err...

I've checked the Zone Skullgirls "animation" and.. heh. That's some fine stuff. They even got the original announcer to do new voice clips just for it 0.0

The Zone folks must be big fans of Skullgirls, and the other way around as well.

I swear I tried not to fap

This is sax to my ears:

We have 2 DLC characters confirmed! Squigly (her story, level and music) is 100% in the works, and now Big Band, who's already coming out of the paper! http://www.zone-archive.com/tmp/epic_bigband.html

The current money raised is $397.454. If they reach $600.000, we will have another character DLC, and will be totaly up to us to decide who's going to be!

Here's the list with the available candidates so far:

And last, but not least, a sneak peek of Squigly's level: Water Casino Zone:

So did you guys donated already? I thinking of donating 10 dollars ^^

I personally donated 10 bucks. just so I can get the pre order. Not to mention every little cash counts... I really want to see Big Band in the game... And whaddya know! He's in! not only that but we're very close to getting his story and stage! biggrin.png

Some of the prizes are awesome, but my god do they demand ridiculous prizes! I'm just a poor middle class college student fer crying out loud!

But anyways, I've been wanting to play this game ever since I first found Alex Ahed's deviantart, and I'm currently waiting for the PC release. I'm digging the Anime meets western cartoon style the artist is going for and looking into the game, I'm actually loving all the characters they have to choose.

I'm probably not going to play competitively though, cause I kinda suck at fighting games, and i just know I'll get my ass handed to me if I attempted to.

I'm not donating money, as much as I like this game, it's extremely limited features and roster doesn't justify my throwing money at it. So, Imma just wait and see.

That's... amazing. They really got more than half million in a month! Kudos to Lab Zero and all the people who supported the campaign!

So we have Squigly, Big Band, the third secret character, two new stages and two new musics. That's awesome!

But now the big question, for who you're gonna vote? Here's the list with all the characters' info.

Eliza, hands down to me.

You get three choices in the first three rounds if you donated, so you need more than just one. Personally I'll be going for Stanley, Feng and Annie. I wouldn't mind the inclusion of Brain Drain, Minette, or Beowulf tho'.

Sweet, I'm really looking forward to getting the game. I'm actually hoping they make it to the 625k mark which would mean another story mode for the 3rd Character. I've always been more of a single player person, since I always get my ass handed to me in fighting games when I play against others. XD

Unfortunately, at this rate, I don't think Lab Zero will be able to lend their engine to Mane6 for the new Fighting is magic... Oh well, that's a different topic for a different time.

Speaking of the 3rd character, I gotta figure out which ones I wanna choose. Panzerfaust looks and sounds like a friggin badass, and Annie sounds fun to use as well. Storywise, I wouldn't mind seeing Umbrella or Marie...

Then, the giantess and foot fetishist in me really wants to choose Scythana.

...

Hey, I see you judging me from my computer screen... Stop it. >=(

Edit: *This poster apologizes to anyone he disturbed and vows never to joke about this again for the sake of everyone's sanity.*

There was no need to make me aware of that.

Anyways, I will vote for Andy, he seems pretty interesting and will be inspired by my boys Dudley and Akihiko.

Too bad he doesn't stand a chance to win.

I was sold on Eliza the moment they described her as playing similar to A.B.A. Like my favorite fighting game character ever.

Aside from that, also Annie and Stanley. Once again based on the Guilty Gear characters they name dropped mainly. >.>

Everyone knows about the Mane6 / Fighting Is Magic $725,000 stretch goal now, right? Right.

So what if we sweetened the deal?

If we raise $725,000, we’ll upgrade Robo-Fortune from a mere voice pack into a full-blown, playable character.

But.. I don't want Robo-Fortune.

could care less about the mane6 thing but I donated... only 5 bucks but I'll be damned if free money wasn't appreciated.
