  • Sonic Calendar Monthly Fan Poll Continues - January 2024 Voting is Now Open

    Even though the Isekai Ohgiri 'fantasy scenario' Sonic Calendar art series is over, it doesn't look like the official Sonic Channel will be stopping with the fan votes for the project anytime soon. The team just launched a new character poll for the upcoming January 2024 art piece.

    "The calendar illustration project will continue next year," the statement reads on social media. "The characters that appear will be determined by everyone's votes," it adds, noting that for 2024 the number of possible choices will increase and may include even crazier match-ups.

    It seems that for January 2024 the main character will be Sonic, and fans can select who will join him. The choices are rather inspired, we have to say - from Tails, Jet the Hawk, Merlina from Sonic and the Black Knight, and classic Badnik Motobug.

    Voting has resumed on social media (for a few months Sonic Channel resorted to posting polls via Google Forms), and you can make your voice heard here. Merlina is currently leading the vote, but given the amount of bizarre nostalgia for that wonky sword-waggling spinoff online, I can understand. To that end, I suppose it's already a done deal. But there's still time for things to change - the poll ends on December 5th!

    Edit: I checked it on Twitter and was a bit shocked that Motobug has the least amount of votes. GOOO TEAM BADNIK!!!

    Black Knight isn't beloved because of nostalgia but because of its story and characterization. Which is top notch and for the longest time was kinda the swan song for the fleshed out continuity before the Meta Era died and the lore council worked to restore it. (coming out after Unleashed) While it may sound odd to some, gameplay isn't the only or even the driving factor for why some people are into this franchise.
